Last movie you saw.

Let me guess: you're also among the group of people who think the altered "special editions" of the original trilogy that the cunt that is George Lucas consider the ultimate versions are better than the originals too. I hope I am wrong, but if you like the prequels I'll be very surprised if I am in fact wrong.

Watched Chappie today. A bit disappointing, but a lot better than its reception gives us the impression of. Not a masterpiece, and the happy ending was kinda lame, but other than that I had a good time. Solid and fun, if nothing more.

Also watched Ted 2 which was total fucking dogshite. I liked the first one, but this only made me smile once, and that was the semen-scene. But even that scene, which was by far the best in the entire film, didn't make me laugh. Crap film.

Last movie I watched was Rogue One and I loved it.

Hardcore Star Wars fans can hate me all they want, the movie is still great.

Eh. What kind of drugs are you on? This move has gotten a fantastic reception among the Star Wars fanboys. And for good reason as the film was brilliant.

Really? Reviews I got from some latin american fanboys before watching it weren't so great.

Yeah. There is, of course, fanboys who didn't like the film, just like there's non-fanboys who didn't like the film. But the overall reception's been great, and the new twist on the saga has been much appreciated.

The thing I've seen the most complaint about is the lack of an classic opening crawl, a thing that really gets you in the mood from the start of. But other than that it's been well-recieved.

I saw Rogue One last week. Great flick. Finally, a Star Wars prequel that's actually good. First half of the movie felt pretty typical Star Wars but the 2nd half was brilliant. Honestly, there wasn't a single character I felt invested in which I think that may have been the whole point because it was solely focused on moving the plot along. Some CG was good but others were just distracting in a bad way. More specifically, a certain princess. Also, is it just me or did the star destroyers looked like lego models? Lol. I do need to mention that the space battle here is the 2nd  best after Return of the Jedi.

I rewatched The Rundown (aka Welcome to the Jungle) with The Rock, Seann William Scott, Rosario Dawson and Christopher Walken yesterday and this film is really fucking underrated. First off, the chemestry between The Rock and Seann William Scott is incredible and they both have great comical timing in this film and it feels very natural, especially the comedy provided by Seann William Scott, and second off the film looks stunning.

The highlights of the film? Christopher Walken'smonologue about the tooth fairy and Seann William Scott thunder and lightning.

And tin the end this there's just something very Romancing the Stone-esque about this film and that is something I always say in the most positive way as I fucking love Romancing the Stone.

The Rundown is smart, it's witty as fuck and it's exciting. It's an adventure that feels real. Excellent film!

X-men Apocalypse: I always thought I hated superhero movies, but while I was watching this I realised that I actually love the x-men series. Everytime a new one is announced I count the days 'till release, specially the recent trilogy. Really, I just hate The Avengers since every character in that series puts me to sleep.

This movie isn't perfect, as usual there's a super OP villain who turns out to be just another regular dude to be defeated. Regardless, I really enjoyed this movie, specially finally seeing the character NightCrawler. My favourite aspect was finally meeting all the characters which make up the old trilogy of X-men, but seeing them as teens and how they joined Xavier's school.  I love every performance in this series, I wasn't disappointed in this movie despite some small flaws in the story.

Thought I'd just throw out my best of 2016 list here now that's we're already in 2017. Another great year for both music, films series and almost everything else in life.

1. Green Room

Jeremy Saulnier doesn't know how to fail. He's written and directed 3 films, two of which was the best of the year. Like the brilliant Blue Ruin, Green Rom is an intense, brutal and powerful horror/thriller with a nice edge to it. As good as Blue Ruin? Probably not, but brilliant nonetheless.

2. The Witch

Slow-burning horror with focus on atmosphere, atmosphere and even more atmosphere. The Witch is a film heavily influenced by the 70's folk-horror genre and it does it well. Powerful film!

3. Rogue One

Rogue One offers something new to the Star Wars franchise while maintaining the feeling of Star Wars. An impressive entry to an impressive franchise (-the prequel trilogy which is godawful. Fuck you all!)

4. Deadpool

A non-family friendly superhero film that's profane, violent and super funny. This just takes the genre into a whole new dimension and it works really well.

5. The Conjuring 2

While not as good as The Conjuring, The Conjuring 2 is no let-down. Like the first one it's not original, but it captures a lot of the 70's and 80's haunted house and ghost story feeling but without feeling like a rip off or anything. It's simply very effective.

6. Captain America: Civil War

Not as good as the previous Captain America film, but it's still very fun. But unlike the previous which was a unique superhero thriller, this is a bit more standard popcorn flick in the vein of The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy, but way better of course. It's great fun. Truly is!

7. Midnight Special

Ambitious sci-fi that might not be in everyones liking, but I was super impressed by this. Probably deserves to be higher on this list too, but it's a fairly heavy film and deserves a new view or two to be fully appreciated. This Spielberg-esque sci-fi is superbly directed and acted with intriguing mysteries.

8. Hush

Another film that probably deserves to be a bit higher on this list. Hush is a unique and super effective take on the home invasion/slasher genre. It doesn't offer much that's new, but there's a couple of small elements thrown in that makes it feel like something completely new to the genre. It's filled with suspense and great atmosphere. Do yourself a favour and watch it right now!

9.  Asperger's Are Us

A documentary that follow a comedic group called Asperger's Are Us that consists of four guys with asperger. I thought it was as interesting as it was entertaining, and it's both touching and funny from start to end.

10. 10 Cloverfield Lane

Quality-wise it's not exactly Cloverfield, but it's still very good. I liked it quite a lot.

Very interested in seeing other peoples list, and even more interested if you write a little about it. A few words to give us a glimpse into why it was so good and what the film is.

I am watching The Girl King at this exact moment, and so far it is quite intriguing. I absolutely adore period setting films though, so I may simply be biased in stating that I adore this film.

I saw Moana recently. It was really good!! And wtf the Rock sings in it so why not? lolol It was kind of refreshing to see a Disney movie without a typical princess plot (it actually poked fun at the princess thing) and I think it did a pretty good job representing traditional Hawaiian culture (unlike Lilo and Stitch, which was just kinda stereotyping the locals in Hawaii). It's definitely worth watching!!

The last movie I watched fully was Sweeny Todd, and it was absolute rubbish, like most of Johnny Depp featured movies. Next I'm gonna watch a russian-mongolian film about Gengis Khan.

I'm with you. I can't stand Depp ...

I recently watched The Call Up because it was recommended by Netflix, and holy hell was it horrible! The characters were as cookie-cutter as you could imagine (black guy dies first of course) and the story didn't make any sense. The dialogue was retched ("Repeat after me: I love to kill shit" "I love to kill shit." "That's how long you need to hold down the trigger.") Nothing gets explained and there was no resolution, either. Avoid at all costs folks.

Kill Command - Randomly decided to check out this kinda-low-budget flick, but despite its limitations it actually looked kinda neat! The CGI was especially good for such a humble budget, I was impressed. If you guys remember what I said about Spectral about a page back, this one's very familiar too: futuristic sci-fi military porn, only this time with killer robots (lovin' the machine design btw!). Nothing spectacular, but it was okay enough for me not to skip / fast-forward any parts. Worth a lazy afternoon watch.
