浅葱 (Asagi) first full album 「斑」(Madara)

Recommended Posts

Maybe he isn't paying anyone and he's just the most popular outgoing person in vk. Or maybe he has a really high up Yakuza connection that is gathering all these people together. Or his dad is really wealthy and is paying everyone.

I can't understand how this album is even a thing but with all that talent crammed onto the one record it can either go really well or really bad.

Edit: the previews sound really good. But if this is the album he always wanted to make it doesn't sound overly different from D.

LMAO the music vid is so campy and the music's so over-the-top I actually kinda like this. Gonna check the album out after it drops.

(It's been ages since I last listened to anything with Asagi in it, so I might just be having withdrawal. XD)

So how will these hired talents affect the sound in overall? It is odd to see Aie, Yuki and Sakura playing something so un-Aie-ish together with Asagi, so does their inclusion really matter?

It might be still the same oriental D stuff he is doing with his main band, who knows.

I've ALWAYS wondered how a 20 something kid with average past bands got to start his own label as soon as Syndrome called it quits. He must have made some serious connections whike working with Kisaki.

He's refused to work for PSC at least twice and he even told Avex to go shove it once... hell, he's close friends with Hajime Okano and his family.

He said his (now deceased) aunt supported him a lot when he moved to Tokyo to start D and GCR. I am pretty sure his uncle is well connected and loaded.

I wouldn't say D is super popular in Japan but they are quite respected in the scene, more amongs bandomen than gyas, surely.

excited for the song with mia x leda, the solo mia rips into as the preview fades out sounds amazing

also that random nagoya-but-not-at-all-nagoya end track is weird but im curious

and hearing how yo-ka and jui sound on their backing vocals (hopefully they can take some parts away from asagi because it'll be a nice contrast)

Whomever this bass grandpa 岡野ハジメ is, he's really good.

Based on the samples, I really like how each song sounds like it should belong, but you can definitely tell each musician's personality apart. Like the song with Chisato definitely sounds like it has a solo he would normally do, as an example.

岡野ハジメ or Hajime Okano mentioned here has produced and arranged some of the best J-rock albums* to date, and his instrumental input too is worth all the praise.

*D's Genetic World, 7th Rose,

L'Arc-en-Ciel's Awake, Mucc's Shion and Houyoku, Creature Creature's Inferno, and even Dead End's Shambara and so on

https://www.discogs.com/artist/493113-Hajime-Okano?filter_anv=0&type=Credits

I am not too big on D nor ASAGI anymore, but I do believe that these guest inputs make a very huge and important difference here. So I take my comments above back and refrain from scepticism.
