Japanese Rock from the 60´s

Recommended Posts

That's actually legit pretty good.

While it's technically already mostly from the '70s (and some of it is folk), I've always enjoyed work by J.A. Caesar, Kan Mikami, Morita Douji, Maki Asakawa, Happy End... There's a bunch of others too. '70s japanese prog/psych scene has some pretty underrated stuff too

There was some decent rock in Japan in the 60s, one of my favorites that comes to mind is Takeshi Terauchi, kinda Ventures style surf rock with an Asian flavor, he's still performing regularly in his late 70s. Happy End was really good too as Tokage said above. Japan's rock scene really took off in the 70s.
