I think Dog in the PWO is one of the worst band names ever. leighla 876 Posted March 22, 2016 In regards to the Dog in the PWO, I'm pretty sure there was an interview I saw on YouTube where they said their name was originally supposed to be "God in the PWO" and they had to change it to be less controversial. Wicked Teletubby 528 Posted March 24, 2016 I find the News section over here somewhat disturbing. because I get to see tons of Japanese band names and it gets weird a lot sometimes. the one that I always stumble upon, is 'gibkiy gibkiy gibkiy.' can't probably think of any other shit that could get any weirder than this. the word 'gibkiy' ("гибкий") is a Russian word meaning something 'flexible.' peffy 3568 Posted March 27, 2016 my dragon (alter ego band but still) "My Dragon" is one possible literal translation of "Kiryu". 己 usually means "self" or "you", depending on where it's used and how it's pronounced, but I am guessing the band is using the other meaning, which is the Snake in the Chinese Zodiac. 龍 means "dragon", and is also the animal that precedes the Snake in the Zodiac. Given how silly the band is in general, I don't think it's a bad name. If my theory is correct, I actually think the name is clever. Anyway, opinions. I googled it, and apparently it doesn't mean anything, they just picked words they thought sounded good together. The guitarist said "morl" comes from the rugby term "maul" (モール), but with the spelling altered, although that could be a lie.
