bands kinda like Dir En Grey

Recommended Posts

No real point to this thread besides me posting music so yea

But hey finding good new music is awesome right, hopefully I can deliver

Dir En Grey, Death Metal - personally think they should scratch this style, other bands does it waay better

Benighted - Slut

Albums - Icon, Asylum Cave

Cryptopsy - Phobopile

Both of those albums are classic DM must haves

Blasphemy Made flesh, and None So Vile

Insect Warfare

Atmospheric

Atoma - Skylight

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eD4H8OOR4sI

Epic space metal

Album: Skylight

Septic Flesh - Pyramid God

This one is for fans of Amon Syphonic version. I love Amon, but the symphonic version is horrible. This band does symphonic death metal right.

Albums: The Great Mas

Deathspell Omega - Chaining the Katcheon

Twisted, twisted band, one of the most unique black metal bands you will find in years.

Albums: Veritas Diaboli Manet in Aeternum: Chaining the Katechon, Si Monumentum Requires, Circumspice, Kenose, Paracletus

Blut Aus Nord -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sw_L-1Dr9Kg

Same as above, they happen to be from France, Seems these days France is taking Black metal from Norway and doing whatever they want with it (Alcest, Les discrets)

777 trilogy, The Work Which Transforms God, Memoria Vetusta II – Dialogue with the Stars

Terra Tenebrosa - Apokatastasis

Blut Aus Nord and Deathspell have some songs that are only instrumental, this band is pretty much expanding on the ideas of those instrumentals.

Albums: The Tunnels

Dark Castle - Seeing Through Time

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lB-_gASCQco

Found this band here, good find

Albums: Suffering To All Life Beyond Form

Fans of lighter Dir en Grey:

Anathema - Untouchable part 1

Album: All of them, coming from depressive doom metal in the early 90s to one of the most positive majestic, atmospheric bands today.

Misc band, my favorite songwriter happens to be Steven Wilson so I got to drop his name

Prog Rock:

Porcupine Tree - Normal

Steven Wilson -

(my favorite song of 2011)

Albums: All of them except maybe Sky moves Sideways
