i cleaned up the geometry and was able to bring the tris down to 600 from 1.5k, then i realized there were non-manifold geometry and couldn't figure out how to fix it so i just gave up.......i don't want to touch someone else's 3d model again, unless they have a good workflow.

*weakly throws the first google search result at you because the very mention of non-manifold geometry KOs me* sculpteo.com/en/3d-learning-hub/create-3d-file/fix-non-manifold-geometry/

The thing is, most people won't have good model workflow unless they are dedicated to being a 3d modeller. : ')

haha, thanks for the link. i was too stressed at the time to read up on a solution but i will take a look later.

funny thing is that i think 3d modelling is her focus lol. i mean i guess i can forgive her a bit since we're all just learning but still, it's probably one of the first things a 3d modeller should know and start getting into the habit of.

My work place always encourages being sociable etc. especially now we're having skype meetings to keep the social aspect while working from home but  it's like only one specific type of conversation seems to be acceptable otherwise there's just silence and awkwardly moving on to another topic, so I prefer to just stay quiet. Luckily I'm an introvert, but also unlucky because i can't relate to any of my colleagues losing their minds over having to stay home. One on one conversations are much better and less draining tbh and I'm a good conversationalist as far as I'm aware.

(also I'm loving being able to just work from home. I can't wait to go back to being self employed and limiting my people intake)

Time is moving quickly, but like it seems like it's at a stand still with nothing to do.

I'm honestly going to go mad if I don't make a decision on the next 2-3 months of my life here soon.

If I don't apply for this mass unemployment going around then it will only be longer before I receive any aid to help keep me from being in debt again.

If I do then I'll need to sever contracts and employment prospects that I have right now, even if the economy resumes within the next month or so, but I'll be on my own looking for a job once unemployment runs out (just like the other 3mil people will be too).

I never thought 2020 was going to fuck us this bad, I'm just debating whether to cut my losses and head back home to family for the time being.....

I'm downgrading from my Huawei p20 to my old Sony Xperia phone. The huawei is too heavy and hurting my wrists and the camera on the Xperia (it's gotta be about 4-5 years old now) is better than the huawei. Also, the whole headphone jack thing where any earphones that are not huawei can only be plugged with an adaptor. No regrets, I just hope they'll keep supporting the xperia for a while longer. I'm done keeping up with the latest tech, soon we might as well just shove a laptop in our pockets and call it a day.

I had the off idea to randomly start up my Gamecube and try Playing Sonic Heroes again and man this game is rough around the edges but it's still as amazing as I remember it to be. The music, the constant banter between your current team ranging from random noises to grammatical mistakes (it's mainly Tails but canonically he was 8 in this game so I'll let it pass), and the lush cartoonish environments. The stages in Heroes were lONG but that's ok because the design of them aren't at all bad, cept the casino levels. Fuck those. I recall the time when this game was announced and the days and nights I spent on SEGA'S website watching each trailers, spending lot's of time on the now defunct Sonic Central website managed by Sega in the early half of the 2000's. Gosh time flies, I miss those simpler days. It was so long ago but it feels just like yesterday, to experience it for the first time again would be a life changing experience.

I'm debating wanting to make my island on Animal Crossing punk/gothic aesthetic, or super cute. I might just go with the basic look until I find my style.

(I also change my character from looking kawaii, to vkei trash. Oops)

I feel myself even worse when everyone tell me every day, every, every day something like "you're so pretty!", not only japanese, but also foreigners... I don't feel myself pretty because the person I like don't think so, I'm sure... (or I'm too shy to ask about his thoughts)

I got laid off, can I get an F in the chat?

Not too big a deal because it's a temp. lay off and once this whole Corona business is done, I can go back to work with my raise and normal hours intact, but still... I hope the government's Corona bucks will make up for it

i'm thinking there must be at least a few visual kei musicians out there who are currently (at this very moment) eating cheese. this post is for them.

Here's an idea for those 'Ask Japanese' youtube channels. 'Do Japanese eat cheese?'
