  1. This time I have an interview with ex-RE:VEIN bassist 彪(Aya) Born in Otaru, Hokkaido. In the spring of 2018, Aya launched her own solo project and started to work as a singer-songwriter as well as a bassist. The concept is “true self“. Because I wanted to make myself known as a person through my own music. Aya’s music does not glorify suffering, nor does it force anyone to sympathize, but rather it expresses feelings of her own. Choose your language [ENGLISH] [JAPANESE]
  2. vkgy latest interview, with a famous vkei writer! Also I worked hard on this one so it's a cross post with JROCKNROLL Nagasawa Tomonori (長澤智典) is a music journalist of note, having written for most major visual kei magazines and bands. We had the chance to ask him questions over several weeks, and so we explore his career, and his decades-long view of visual kei from the inside. Choose your favorite platform vkgy or jrocknroll If there are people who still have any questions about the "visual kei" history, we can do another round So if you do have any questions, throw them to me and I'll will ask them!
  3. Last week I shared his BAND SEARCH and today I share with you his full interview! Sho knows Japanese and English, so I did do the original interview with him in English and he translated everything in Japanese, so if you understand Japanese (almost/fluently) I recommend you to check the Japanse version, since it's all his own words! Hopefully you guys will read this interview, Sho is a XJAPAN/Yoshiki fan and beside visual kei he also loves Gothic bands a lot. --- Next week I have an interview with Aya(彪) ex-RE:VEIN -- English version https://jrocknroll.wordpress.com/2020/06/18/interview-with-sho-kotani/3/ Japanese version https://jrocknroll.wordpress.com/2020/06/18/interview-with-sho-kotani/2/
  4. This time, an interview with rock band COOKAI members Cathy and Rachel! The vocalist was sadly too busy to answer the questions. Cookai is a similar band to ex-Calmando Qual Hibiki (now SARRMATH) ROCK band THE HIGH GRIP Read: https://jrocknroll.wordpress.com/2020/06/04/interview-with-cookai/
  5. This time, I like to introduce you to BELLMONDO, They are a bandholic bassless trio band. Their sound is reminiscent of alternative/post-punk/post-shoe gazers. Mainly active in Tokyo area. I also saw this band live in Tokyo once and I really enjoyed it ^^ Read: https://jrocknroll.wordpress.com/2020/05/28/interview-with-bellmondo/

  7. MMS plays Simple and speedy ROCK’N’ROLL! They are a minimal unit who are sticking to the style of a three-piece, rockabilly, R&B, R&R, and PUNK together with their own sense of originality. MMS are offering amazing live performances. Also all members can use their voice as an instrument. All members are showing their skills in writing lyrics, composing songs etc. MMS shows an unique three piece style which gives a totally different expression than most R’N’R bands. The members ride motorcycles in their normal life, so they live their lifestyle as cool bikers. Because of that some of their songs are of course related to motorcycles and touring around! Be sure to read the interview to learn more about this amazing rocking band! Never give up your dreams, whatever age you have, keep on rocking! https://jrocknroll.wordpress.com/2020/05/14/interview-with-mms-rampr-engineering
  8. Night Pirates formed in December 2004 in Fukushima. Mainly active in Tohoku and Tokyo. They released five albums. Also the band played together with; The Checkers, Rock’n’Roll Gypsyes, Cools, PRIVATES, Mr. Hiroya Uchida, etc. The band has kept growing their own live performance style since starting the band and it has never been changed. The performance makes the audience be united with the band, being with an attractive performance, definite skills to play music and their policy to have poppy rock. Fukushima FM-POCO’s personal program “Ode-Night Pirates” enters its 11th year. ON AIR during! (76.2MHz, Friday 20: 00-21: 00, Sunday 18: 00-19: 00 (RE))
  9. Hello folks, this time a bit more special interview, I'm sure some of you know their name, since this band is known for a bunch of anime and game OP/ED. You might could know them from the animes: Togainu no Chi, SoniAni: Super Sonico The Animation and ramatical Murder But also from gams such as: DRAMAtical Murder ReCOИИECT Two of their CD's can still be bought on CDJAPAN and two of their CD's can be purchased in the itunes store! Also vocalist Ken1 is from Valentine D.C so his voice is surely not unknown to a bunch of us! I hope you guys will enjoy the interview. READ THE INTERVIEW more about their op/ed works you can find here https://vgmdb.net/artist/14544
  10. This time I share with you an interview of a vocalist of a band who was popular end 80's early 90's, played in bigger halls than now. The band official restated again in 2018 and also this year they planned a ONEMAN tour in small live halls (200-300 capacity), we still pray that the tour won't be canceled due the CORONA virus. Their old music can be found on itunes and spotify. Also for THE MINKS You never too old, never give up your dreams! It's an interview which let you smile and laugh (^o^) https://jrocknroll.wordpress.com/2020/04/02/interview-the-minks/
  11. THE HIGH GRIP,ex-Calmando Qual, SARRMATH vocalist Hibiki non-visual band. Always rocking on stage, with lots of energy, shouting out his heart. A true rocker! The band started in 2008, their bassist Kenka (now in SUNEMEGAMAFY) left the band in 2013, however that didn’t stop them from continuing the way of ROCK’N’ROLL! Also THG guitarist Moomin and drummer Shinzo are always full of power! Nowadays THG is supported by Tsuyoshi and DAISUKE, both are also wonderful bassists. https://jrocknroll.wordpress.com/2020/03/26/interview-with-the-high-grip/
  12. I already have interviewed them in 2016, however in the meanwhile they released a brand new album and gained a new guitarist (still support). Big thanks to vocalist Ryo-suke who is always kind towards me! last year he and shinichi (MMS, THE MINKS) organized a special solo live for me at LINDA GARAGE bar, which was visited well by their fans and bar supporters~ was very fun! If you have a change to see them, 100% check them out, also no worries about "language barrier" as long Rosy is around he will help talking with everybody. Oh and if you want to buy their CD's, it's possible! contact them via facebook and you get in though with Rosy! THE VACK’S has been active for 10 years. They have released 3 CDs and performed a lot of lives. Slowly they are getting more and more popular, and stand aside of a few famous “rockers.” If you think of recent ojisan Japanese rock music, you can’t miss THE VACK’S! “Never give up! You still can do it!” THE VACKS LINE UP Vo、Ryo-suke Gt、Danna Ba、Kudo Dr、Rosy The interview was answered by Ryo-suke and Kudo. Danna and Rosy didn't take part of it, however their "all" answers are how they think together about things. https://jrocknroll.wordpress.com/2020/03/06/interview-with-the-vacks/ Thanks to @inartistic for helping thinking of a few questions and also of course some of the questions are re-used out of our visual kei interview series and another bunch are translated by my Japanese friend Yasu and translation check was also done by Yasu. Also a big thanks to my friend RIORIO who helped me to translate a few of the questions. ps. I deliver interviews on a FRIDAY 22PM(JST). can be weekly, 2 weekly etc. depends on the respond times of the bands (^_^)v
  13. After Kenka left Calmando Qual, he became more closer to Tomo (ex-Neurotic Doll and Japanese Babies), They played together also in 4marble colors, after both ended 4marble colors because 2 members left, Tomo and Kenka decided to form a new band. Sunamegamafy is one of the most amazing non-vk rock bands around. Tomo's voice is wonderful strong which truly can hit your heart if you like their type of music! Please read the interview: https://jrocknroll.wordpress.com/2020/02/28/interview-with-スネメガマフィー-sunemegamafy/ And of course you also can discover more of them on the same website! https://jrocknroll.wordpress.com/2020/01/29/スネメガマフィー/ Anyway, the questions also thanks to John of vk.gy of course, with who I also interview visual bands! ~ (^_^) __ Next Visual Kei interview will be out this Tuesday March 3rd! Next Non-visual kei interview will be out hopefully mid March! If you think that I should interview a non-vkei band please drop me a DM with their information!
  14. NEiN's interview was coordinated originally by me with help of John @inartistic we both made this interview our first interview together. Since NEiN is a band who fits also to less visual bands, we decided later on to cross post it also on JAPANESE ROCK'N'ROLL. Full interview in English can be read here. https://vk.gy/blog/an-interview-with-nein/ https://jrocknroll.wordpress.com/2020/05/27/interview-with-nein/ Also the original Japanese version has been shared for those who can understand Japanese https://vk.gy/blog/an-interview-with-nein-jp/ https://jrocknroll.wordpress.com/2020/05/27/interview-with-nein/
