  1. This thread is made for everyone who wants to look Visual Kei! Let's help each other out by giving advice, tips and tricks. In this thread you can also post links to clothes, makeup products, hair products, jewelry etc. Also, if you want to look like your favourite artist but don't know how to get the look etc we might be able to help you find the right clothes and products! ---------------------------------------------------------- I start with my tips and tricks! I usually get my clothes from Aliexpress. Sometimes I customize regular clothes. Aliexpress is great! Just read the reviews before you buy. I own most of the clothes I post on here! Something I like to do is to get regular cheap pants from H&M or something like that. I only care about the fit and the color of the pants. Then I get some metallic fabric paint, and by using a sponge I just paint the pants to make them look unique. Sometimes I use stencils to make an interesting design on them! Easy way to customize clothes, this works on shirts as well. I also paint on shoes or boots! Here is an example of what the pants could look like when painted: Now over to aliexpress! Very cheap clothes but you can put together great outfits using them! I will link all the clothes under the pictures! Most of those comes in different designs and colors! Shirts and blazers: https://a.aliexpress.com/BmHk99AY https://a.aliexpress.com/eueEm2VE https://a.aliexpress.com/ey7ruNkk https://a.aliexpress.com/em2cTe1w https://a.aliexpress.com/tmEJKPY8 https://a.aliexpress.com/FEkyrOG0 https://a.aliexpress.com/rsxs8RzI Pants: https://a.aliexpress.com/p2zIx7ky https://a.aliexpress.com/2CueBzZA https://a.aliexpress.com/tesYw6zK If you scroll down on the pages for each clothing item you will find related clothes, that way you might find even cooler items! Biker jeans works great for visual kei, also just simple shirts and focusing more on the jewelry, hair and makeup will make you look visual kei!
  2. I have noticed a lot of people talk about how all the new vk groups sound the same or are copying older groups, but no one ever talks about the unique or more interesting sounding new vk groups. What are your fav new vk groups? And I mean new as in they have only been around a couple years or less lol 😜 My favorite newer group is probably kizu, I think their concepts are interesting and I find them over all intriguing

Hey! I'm new to the forum! Stumbled across the site a couple days ago, and I wanted to know if other people felt the same way or noticed this too. (PLEASE, link me to the thread if this topic already exists!) Has anyone else noticed the increasing usage of a harpsichord-like sounds in J-rock/V. Kei songs? If possible, it would be great if we could pin point the exact time when this trend started arising. The first time I really noticed it being used a lot was in songs by Royz, but below I'll link some quick examples of what I mean. Sick2 - CRAZY TOKYO (1:33) Royz - Egoist (1:18) (more recently) Razor - Knot Invisible (1:15) Was there a specific group that started using this sound a lot in their music and it branched out from there, or am I just over-analyzing things..

Does anyone here like to use discogs? I like their site a lot. You can check release information for any format and genre of music, see photos of releases, and keep a customized list of any releases you have or want. It also doubles as a music wikipedia and anyone can update any information as needed. I've made a few contributions for bands like lynch. and DEZERT and their format is super easy to use. You can even get as detailed as music and lyric credits and lump different versions or editions as sub-categories into one master list. It also triples as a market place for people to buy and sell music from all over the world. But, usually people who sell here tend to overprice a LOT. I know there are a lot of separate websites that can do these things, but I like discogs because you can do all that on one site under one profile. It's especially convenient for keeping track of one's music collection. So anyways, do ya???

  12. I found a pretty new VK webshop today. It's called Chaotic Harmony and the have some pretty well priced goods from a handful of VK groups. They have a special deal going on now too for 10% off if you use the code Vkei10 at checkout. http://www.chaotic-harmony.net I really like the prices and I think some of the items can only be bought at lives.

Well, it's been a bit of a skepticism on their singles ever since Raise a Flag. Even though it was the single that brought me to NoGoD, it was a pretty bland single. Kamikaze's b-sides weren't as interesting as the title track itself. Stand Up was very "commercial" if I can say that but Naraku was a hell of a b-side. 神髄 -FRONTIER- is a change! The title track is the best I have heard since Kakusei and while the chorus is a bit on their usual style the guitar solo and riff right after that more than makes up for that. The b-sides remind me a lot of Naraku with such amazing guitar intros and just amazing mood throughout the whole song. This is definitely an amazing single and apparently the first of a series from NoGoD on the concept of "true meaning"? Best single since Kakusei (Quoted)

I didn't really see a topic on this so I thought I would put it out there. During my years of con going I've seen the amount of cosplayers in the music genre decrease in large numbers every year. Many times I feel like I might be the only one cosplaying until I see a random Ruki or random Miyavi or in recent years at ACEN a handful of LMC thanks to their attendance. When I first got into vkei and cosplayer there was so much variety in the bands I saw people dressing as, along with the amount of people dressing up. For a few years at ACEN I took over running the photoshoot meet ups for us but within a few years the turn out was a handful. Do people still participate in vkei cosplay these days or is it only a handful of us across the nation? For people that don't cosplay how do you feel when you see other people dressing as these band men? Any cosplayers that are out there I'd love to see your costumes! Once I dig up pictures I'll edit my post and put them.
