anyone know garage rock similar to Thee Michelle Gun Elephant? (btw, I'm familiar with all Chiba Yusuke projects)

Sin-se-gae aka New World great korean crime flick with brutal violence, which I love. especially one particular fight scene in an elevator stuck to my mind. great acting and plot, the music was fantastic. if you like korean cinema you will like this. 12 Years A Slave Everyone should see this movie. Michael Fassbender's role really stood out, for me at least.

Finally completed some anime: Code Geass R2 - watched the first 22 episodes over a year ago and now finished the remaining three. I have mixed feelings about the ending, almost shedded a tear :'( Beelzebub - I don't watch anime as long as this very often, but it was pretty funny and the baby was adorable, even though I hate kids. I had the last episode remaining to watch and completed it now. Blood Lad - very entertaining series, I read that the second season will be released in late 2014(?) Can't wait! I still have like 25-30 shows unfinished and watch them when I feel like it (Genshiken 2, Hyouka, Wolf's Rain etc.), but I still wanna start a new anime if I could find an interesting one. I've been thinking of trying Mirai Nikki or Kill la Kill, I'm just not sure if they're what I'm currently looking for.. oh well, just gotta watch and find out. From the current season, I'm only watching Golden Time, can't wait for the next season 'cause looks like there's gonna be a bunch of interesting stuff.

Gravity (2013) - that was some long take porn but I didn't expect any less from mr. cuarón. very intense film, one of the best movies of the year for sure! probably the first movie in which the 3D technology really works like it should. 12 Angry Men (1957) - classic. for a film that's about 12 men talking in one room for 90 minutes, I wasn't bored even for a second, thanks to great dialogue and characters.

Only God Forgives a lot of people hate this one, but I enjoyed it. Yes it's slow but the cop was a real a badass, the soundtrack was great (and the karaoke scenes), the cinematography was beautiful. My Sassy Girl not the original, but american remake. not as good as the original (obviously) but I watched and liked this because of Elisha Cuthbert <3

Kimi No Iru Machi - only anime of summer season that I'm interested in. I've seen 2 episodes so far and it seems quite promising. Also watching Genshiken, fun stuff!

The Place Beyond the Pines great movie, Mike Patton did the soundtrack for this Iron Man 3 decent movie but the bad guys were horrible and uninteresting, I saw this in 3D so the action sequences were pretty cool

The Happy Life after the death of their friend, three middle-aged guys reform their old college rock band. good movie with good music. Gangster Squad brings nothing new to its genre, stereotypical characters and all gangster-movie clichés. if you wanna see a good gangster flick, skip this and watch The Untouchables.
