  1. New band Re;dark Project has formed on 2020/12/29 with the following members:

     - guitar: アザミ (ex-JIGA)

     - bass: 斗唯 (ex-RAKUGAKI)

    Instrumental sample:

Good to see the Ains boys channeling their creativity together! Hopefully this'll become a full band in the near future.

edit: This is also connected to the Project.R session, at least they're both in that and are advertising it as their "next live":

  2. FUCK IT, DOUBLE POST.

Figured since I'm stuck with my old PC now I might as well do a deep dive in hopes of coming up with some funny images from days of yore. Unfortunately it didn't yield a haul as big as I anticipated...but anyway, here are some things I dug up that I found funny (or that were funny at one point in time).

While MH closing got us like...

    001ggg.jpg

...let us think of the good times. Remember when Akane from D.I.D. expressed his religious views, even tho nobody asked?

    aka000-b.png

But he wasn't the only one to be brilliant on social media. THE HAKKIN were pretty lowkey but they managed this whopper once:

    hakkintweet.png

Remember the MOO album from DEG? Or DOGEMA from the GazettE? Or...

    dogeloofwoofwoof.jpg

(ok I know I'm the only one who still finds doge funny in 2020 idc)

Anyway, when it comes down to it, love is the answer. Let that special someone in your life know your true feelings.

...or you can just get to the point.

Sadly I don't have many screenshots from MH itself, but for some reason I kept this gem by @Tokage:

Closing off, let's remember that through all the good, bad or strange times it has always just been about the music, maaan. We're just a bunch of people going crazy over some (mostly) random underground fan-exploiting-or-worse weirdos who probably don't even know or suspect we even exist. Opinions are opinions, no need make a big fuss over them, but... I think we can agree that visual kei at its peak has made us all feel a bit of what @Shaolan974 once formulated that has stuck with me to this day:

    Adios once again, MH.

  3. Truly the best of times! Can't believe I almost forgot about how fun and lively the chat was here, and of course the Certified Dispo McDonald's Live Reports too, lmao. Already left my remarks in the closing thread but again, thank you everyone for everything, it is without a doubt that from 1st January I'll be feeling a bit like a delirious invalid returning from war without this place (even if we already have other means of communicating)... maybe not the best analogy but whatever, lol.

U CAN TAKE JIG OUT OF MH BUT U CAN'T TAKE MH OUT OF JIG

  4. Love those big chunky lemons. :)

By the way both the regular and limited editions will include 6 tracks, in the following configurations:

Regular CD: 4 new songs + "cali-gari no Commercial" + bonus track (I couldn't quite catch what it is, something that has to do with Shuuji)

Limited CD1: 4 new songs + "cali-gari no Commercial" / CD2: a new reworked recording of their old classic "Izon..." song originally from Dai 5

Did we ever figure out why exactly? I don't understand how you can get blacklisted from all the live houses in japan. I still feel like he's one of the best visual kei vocalists around if he's allowed to create and prosper.

From what I understand it has to do with his contract / expiration of contract pretaining to MEJIBRAY... like how some artists sign contracts with labels where if their band disbands, the members cannot immediately form a new band for a certain period of time afterwards (?). Or maybe it's just some shady thing behind the scenes that we are not privy to.

Anyway, this is speculation/just my interpretation, so if someone's more in the know please clarify.

Does anyone know their current activities?

    Hey there, welcome! :)

From what I could dig up, it seems guitarist Shogo is currently in ACME and drummer Ena is in D=OUT (under the name Naoto). The rest of the members are either inactive, unknown status or in small bands that went nowhere.

Hmmmm it's been a while since I last listened to these guys, maybe I should refresh my xTRiPx mood~

  7. I have some SHM-CDs and SACDs but the format is totally wasted on me as I cannot hear a damn thing that's supposed to be better about them, lol. Although reading what some of the replies mentioned here, if extended durability is true then I am glad to own some.

I don't mind artists releasing or re-issuing their catalogue on these formats as I haven't really experienced a significant increase in their price (when it's a reissue/remaster of a 'legacy band' sometimes it's the exact opposite actually!) so I guess what I'm saying is uhhhh... I'm like whatever, ok. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  8. That teaser actually sounds quite pleasant (nothing groundbreaking but I was getting into it).

I'm not rly into NIGHTMARE, and even less into ViViD (that's where SHIN is from, right? or is this a different guy?), so I have no expectations really. Gonna check once they release something.

did they confuse "premiere" with "premium" or what?

They're too busy TALKING ABOUT THE ESSENCE to pay attention to worldly things like that.

That said, if it rly was a free thing on regular Youtube, I might peep it too. Hoping they play some CHEDOARA material in there somewhere.

  10. Looks like ex-MEJIBRAY/8p-sb frontman Tsuzuku/GENKI has a new project called SpelL. First digital single titled "SPELL" will be released on 2020/12/15.

You can see a snippet of the music video here:

And if at least 300 ppl retweet this, he'll reveal the full version:

Honestly, I feel like I would like the song itself if not for this godawful no-budget ridiculously ass production. Hoping this is not the "final product" but just a taste of the general direction of this project right before recruiting actual band members (cuz then I'd listen to their future releases for sure).

  11. The announcement was that they are launching a crowdfunding campaign though this website:

    https://camp-fire.jp/projects/view/349577

It will be used to fund a new music video and new costumes.

Cheapest option is ¥3,000 (advance viewing of the video + 3 autographed chekis), the most expensive one is ¥200,000 (advance viewing of the video + 3 autographed chekis + limited-edition rubber wristband + limited-edition scrunchie + ticket for a 2-shot photo + 30-second solo shot from the MV of your favorite member and a chance to have your name in the credits + MV offshot footage + chance to visit the rehearsal of the band)
