  1. This is good news for me seeing as I never could stand Garo's voice. I'm excited to see where Meku will go

Yeah, I guess I should rephrase: Why do people consider it such a deadly sin to like something for the visuals..? It's not like enjoying visuals and enjoying sound exclude eachother.. Meh. Yes, what sai said is where I fit. I don't think liking the visuals is a bad thing. To each their own because I just happen to not like them at all. Sorry, but heavily made up men are unattractive to me and people who keep trying to convince me otherwise should just leave me alone.

I'm 31 and I still like Versailles. I also listen to bands that pretend to be vikings and sing about plundering villages. I guess that makes me really immature, lol. Seriously, people should stop judging so much. Music is about enjoyment, not about how mature or immature it appears. There's nothing wrong with having harmless fun beyond the age of 30. Just because you have aged a few more years doesn't mean you must only listen to serious, darker, more sober bands. I like those bands, but I also like bands with cheesy lyrics and wild imagery. Why? Because it's fun. Not everything in the world has be serious and sober, even to a 31-year-old. Hahah! Yeah, I don't think it's fair to be so judging. I'll take viking plundering villages any day over another song about someone's break up. Well, more often than not, I don't really pay attention to lyrics especially foreign languages like Japanese. I like what I listen to by the sound of the music.

I am a very plain person lol
  5. As for myself, I am actually Chinese descent so Japanese culture at times feel familiar to my own upbringing. Maybe like many of you, I grew up with anime and Japanese video games etc. that got me interested in Japanese culture. But honestly, I'm pretty happy about myself. When some of my friends used to be such Japanophiles, I never got that. Sure, a vacation there someday would be awesome but to live there? Nah

I've been listening to visual kei for a little over 3 years now. Honestly, I can't even bare to listen to any of the stuff any more asides from my favourites. A lot of the music now is either not my cup of tea or have become so formulaic and predictable. I don't want to even try because most often as soon as the singing kicks in, I'm already turned off by the awful vocals. Visual Kei vocals are just bad in general imo. But for some reason I keep trying to find something new that will click with me because of how much I love my favourite bands that have now either disbanded or changed so much. Anyone else feel this way? I listen lots of things other than vk, but they never quite had the same effect. I guess I'm just lookin' to feel incredibly hooked with music again. But vk music or not, I'm listening to new things all the time and still getting bored so fast. Sometimes I'm wondering if I'm just bored with music altogether?? T__T Seriously, what is life without music!
  7. It irks me when people are racist of themselves. That's something I don't really understand. A "race not liked by much people": do you mean races with negative stereotypes? Or is it because compared to media giant Japan many parts of the world feel like a minority?
  8. I always hear people say things like: "I wish I were born Japanese! My country sucks!" etc. Being an enthusiast about the culture and music, and studying the Japanese language is one thing, but would any of you actually choose to BECOME Japanese if given the chance? This doesn't have to apply to just wanting to be Japanese but any other race as well (there seems to be a lot of Korean envy too). I would like to hear opinions on this matter.

FUCK Y'ALL WHO DON'T LIKE MY FAVOURITE BAND. Y'ALL HAVE POOR MUSIC TAsTE. AND FUCK ALL U RETARDED FANS THAT DON'T THINK THE BAND SUCKS ASS NOW. Word, yo. I can't win.

I don't listen to either band, but I've tried on several occasions. Both are boring to me. But I'll give the point to DIR EN GREY for the brutal level
  11. DIR EN GREY I would have to say. Kyo is really a skilled vocalist with tremendous range but I don't really like his singing...Now, I don't have a problem with the edginess of the band's music (because I actually prefer the harder VK stuff)...but personally, I find their sound really dry and uninteresting

Can I just say every fucking vocalist in the history of VK is terrible? XD Especially the ones that can't sing live and all the ignorant fangirls keep praising them. VK vocals are an acquired taste that I haven't completely accepted. Sometimes I don't even know why I listen to this stuff so much. And sometimes, I just want to avoid VK like the plague.

Here's a bit about me and where I stand when I listen to both VK and Kpop: 1. I am female but I don't like the visuals of either VK or Kpop. They make me vomit. 2. I am a listener of European extreme metal. 3. I grew up with Chinese pop music. 4. Yes, I grew up with anime too but that's irrelevant to me. 5. Yes, I enjoy VK and Kpop a lot (but I am selective of what's good to my ears). I just prefer asian melodies a lot more. VK is really catchy to me. I always wanted to love pop music as well, but I hate most of the American pop on the radio because the melodies annoyed the fuck outta me. Kpop just sort of filled that missing gap for me.
