it iis for quite some time now  actually. My seminar paper was about Influencer ( did it in German and yes I used the English word cuz like u thought it somewhat became an established term) and during my research I found articles that were over 2 years old already but imo its still relatively new most of the
"useful" articles I used were not even a year old

While the modern usage (social media term) of "influencer" started to trend in late-2016, this is the first tweet (seemingly) using it in that context:
"Influencer Marketing" dates back to the mid-18th century, and the first influencer was Joseph Wedgewood w/ English pottery. The word itself dates back to the late 17th century.

Agreed with colorfuljinsei about the synthesizers. Don't get me wrong, I love when a band incorporates lush synths, but the majority of 2010s VK that uses synth always seem to resort to that grating, cheap sounding synth like this. Lots of bands (Royz, anfiel, LONDBOY, i.Rias, 0.1gの誤算, and maaaany more) are guilty of it and it's an immediate turn-off for me.

As much as I like the current scene, I do think there's been an over-reliance on software synthesizers. When I use the term "over-reliance", I refer to softsynths being used as a crutch instead of an asset. I wish that budget bands embraced more traditional methods than trying to half-ass their way through default plugins (...but that requires talent :V).

Though, I will say that any sound, including this one, is subject to being called "generic" when it's used a lot. Idk, I guess it's just a product of the times.

The film was a damn ride from start to finish; the only thing I'm going to say about the plot is that you'll be pissed on several characters' behalf.

Isn't the majority of big horror movies marketed as "the scariest horror film ever" nowadays? It's so pathetic and annoying tbh. A really weak way to sell a film, but stupid people still gets fooled by it.

Not seen it, but very much looking forward to it. Looks neat.

I've heard good things about it, but also apparently it has been wrongly marketed as the scariest horror in decades which it isn't but it is one of the most unsettling in a long time. (this is what a few people have said)

I haven't seen yet, but I'm really hyped to watch it soon! Wasn't aware of the split in opinions too, but I guess that's a given with movies like these. I'll probably love it too; can't go wrong with Toni Collette and horror in my mind.

Only heard good things about it so far, so I'm eager to check it out! (it's just hard to find an original-voice / subbed screening here, lol)

fitear1590 got a reaction from Mamo in I know I'm years late, but I noticed Sailor Moon Crystal was on Hulu, so I started wa
@MamoHulu has the first two seasons of the 90s series dubbed (the new Viz dub, which is quite good); I assume they will keep adding the dubbed seasons, as they become available?

(And all 3 seasons of Crystal are in both dubbed/subs)

i was not aware that it followed closely to the manga. however the animation is too awful for me to pick it up.....

Unrelated but I've found myself recently watching a lot of classic anime such as Yu Yu Hakusho and Fist of the North Star. Love Sailor Moon btw although I don't like that hulu has sub, I prefer Sailor Moon dub I guess just because it gives me more nostalgia.

I re-watched all of the original a couple of years ago. It was 80% awful , but the few episodes that actually told a story/had character development were very good!
Sailor Moon Crystal does follow the manga very closely which is great, however the animation is so bad. The characters have been stripped of any emotion, personality or charm and they just look like Barbie Dolls which is a huge shame. I enjoyed watching it regardless. Btw the second season improves even more ✨ This is also the same evil that cardcaptor sakura is suffering in the latest rendition of the series. Super flat animation/Expressionless characters.
