I *think* I can get tickets when I arrive in Japan. Who knows! If not, I'll ask someone else to do it and pay it via PayPal or something. Damn tickets will only be sold to the general public in September!

It will cost an arm and a leg, but I think I`ll go to all three dates. Seeing LUNA SEA has been a life-long dream. Plus, GLAY and X and, who knows who else. Hopefully some other cool older bands will join the bill to make it even more special.

They look freakin' great and the song is fun. Maybe I should pay attention to these guys!

Undisputably, their best piece of work. 02. There was a lot about this one that I didn't love when it came out back then. But the years have made me wiser and now I'm able to appreciate the incredible amount of energy and emotion that it contains. 朽木の塔 has some of the most incredible ムック moments ever laid on tape. 05. 是空 06. 6 Great comeback! 07. Underrated. Very influenced by japanese folk, I can see why some fans might be turned off. 08. 12. T.R.E.N.D.Y. -Paradise from 1997- 13. THE END OF THE WORLD 14. The last three are some the weakest efforts by MUCC. But you can't be great forever. Even if everything they do from now on sucks, we'll always have the early material. Plus, they kill live. Also, some of their early singles are incredibly better than some of the later albums (and better than 哀愁).

Good, it only took them 30 years too late. Dudes have been relying on outside writers for over 3 fucking decades. A shame for the band that once created Rocks and Toys in the Attic.
  14. This is another important point. TOO. MANY. SONGS. This is one of the problems of CD releases. Not just in Japan (who is a big offender) but with music in general. Just because you have up to 70 mins. to use, it doesn't mean that you HAVE to use it. And, with a band like DADAROMA, it just means that you're stuck with a bunch of songs that sound too much alike.
  15. This was my first real contact with DADAROMA and... I'm far from being impressed. There are some great moments here and there and potential great songs that ALMOST deliver, but fizzle. For exemple, 最終電車 had the potential to be insanely great if DADAROMA only knew the meaning of the word "restraint". It's supposed to be this sexy number but ends up becoming almost like a parody. That first minute is so good (sultry, mysterious), but then, of course, they throw it all away when they decided to imitate the worst moments of Janne Da Arc's quasi-shuffle numbers like BLACK JACK. Also, what's up with their shitty horn section (trumpet, mainly) sample? And why on earth they weren't able to find some better sounding stuff to include on モルヒネ#1, モルヒネ#2 and 最終電車? It drives me up the wall! Fuck that shitty, cheap-ass early 90s CASIO keyboard sound! Good moments: The Manson-esque SEX!!, some parts of ルシッド・ドリーム and some parts of 溺れる魚, I guess. There's not much here that interests me. Yeah, it's one of those albums that almost hits the right spot but fails to deliver, EVERY SINGLE TIME. Sorry, I guess these guys just aren't for me.

For 黒夢: if you dig classic V系 you start with 亡骸を..., then 生きていた中絶児 and 中絶. Get 迷える百合達 if you want a more accessible, major-era, sound. If you dig glossy pop-rock with tons of hooks and smart songwriting and musicianship you go for feminism (my personal favorite). If you dig punk, then CORKSCREW is the way to go and then move to Drug TReatment and FAKE STAR. FAKE STAR also works if you're looking for a bridge between the glossy pop sound and punk. sads: Can't go wrong with SAD BLOOD ROCK’N ‘ROLL, BABYLON and THE ROSE GOD GAVE ME. After that the songwriting gets kinda weak. Still enjoyable, but not as cool as it was in those first records. Solo 清春: either poetry or MELLOW, I think. And miss feminism? Haha, no way. That's like missing the most delicious dessert on the menu. FAKE STAR is also mighty cool.

Huge fan here. Love hide and his legacy. PSYENCE is a classic and HIDE YOUR FACE is one hell of a cool record too. His stuff just sounded so vibrant and cool. Like he was two or three years ahead of anyone else. At the same time, he had enough pop sensibilities to churn out some amazing hit songs. Killer backing band as well.

Try watching one of their DVDs, always incredible live. Tetsu beats the shit out of his kit every time.
  19. r...

I don't think there will be any other replies, so might just well say that, even though they had some few cool songs (especially MY SELF, that one is killer!), it's the worst CIPHER and Tetsu project out there. STILL MY LOVE is a complete stinker and so is BABY, CRAZY and BELIEVE. The story about the problems with the mixing and the infighting rumours are probably true; the drums and guitar are mixed waaay too high, while the vocals on FLAME sound they were taken from a cheap demo! The FLAME REMIX corrects most of the problems with the mix, but there are others, like the songwriting quality, that can't be fixed easily. I do love the CRAZE version of I LOVE YOU. I think every CRAZE vocalist sang that one, but I love TUSK's version. They also played MY SELF quite a bit, especially during the first couple of years of CRAZE and later went back playing it when TUSK joined as well.

Pode fazer mash-up do 黒夢 com Madeth gray'll tranquilo.

Looking casual was never a problem. ラヴィアンローズ barely used any make-up and they were a visual band just the same. I understand the lines get a bit blurry sometimes, but, to me, if a band plays in the same circuit of visual bands, appear in V系-related magazines, plays in V系-related events, then too bad, they are a V系 band.
  23. r...

tosinn not being a V系 band is news to me. Back in the day I don't remember anyone questioning their "visualness". They used to play with lots of other visual bands when they were around. A quick 10-name drop: -Lucide -babysitter -ハッピーサッド -otoiro -GULLET -Shiver -DUMMY CHILDREN -L'yse:nore -gechena -AURORA
