  1. please serious answers only but i am really wondering why it seems like no one here on MH seems to care for the band DictavE?

they make really great music so i am really just curious why that is cuz compared to other heavy Vk bands which get enough recognition i don't see any authoritative difference.... Ôó

Update: I just tried the song "All Alone" and personally, I'm not a fan, but I can definitely see how it'd appeal to some people. Their music style is very rhythmic, which I actually kind of like.

I'm also not big on synths unless it's the chiptune influenced ones like Metronome or Taiheiyou Belt, but I do like how the synths in one part of the song are taking from "In the hall of the mountain king", and I think a lot of other people would find that pretty cool.

The only criticism I really have is the vocals, but even then, I've heard much worse.

So in all, for me, it's just a personal matter of taste, but I definitely think a lot of other people could get into them.

Just gave them a spin...tried Munchausen Syndrome, Last Dance, and all alone.

Their growls aren't really my flavor, for me kind of just...there. Like the feeling I get when I try out random Swede or Danish bands, it's not bad it just is what it is not sure how to word it. Passionless screaming/growling? I don't know lol. I always want something new or that has lots of ups and downs, one tone won't do it for me.

I do dig the ''In the Hall of the Mountain King'' bit, but everything around it wasn't for me (and I already like the original tune as itself so I don't think it can count lol). Vocalists regular voice doesn't bother me too much though.

But I'm mad picky. I culled 900 songs from assorted albums into 140 songs over a two day period one time.

@AimiGen7thanks for checking them out! thats exactly why i was asking cuz i also think normally their "should" be more people to like them but maybe they are so unspoken of that no one cares to check 'em out unfortunately. about the vocals i love mizki vocals - he has such a great range but of course especially with vocals peoples opinion will differ A LOT!^^

@karai · ebithanks a lot for checking them out and giving your opinion as well!^^

  2. for those who always wanted to get some songs by the band DictavE but couldn't as of now because they only release live limited stuff now's your chance! cuz they will distribute 8 of their songs via twitter starting february 1st and february 8th.

  4. wow CDjapan just really screwed me over... pre-ordered まみれた - 死因:わからん on 13.03.2018 already, so way over a month before the actual release date and still today i received an email that they cancelled the CD from my order... WOW!!...

don't even wanna know how many people's order got cancelled or if they eventually not even fullfilled one single order of the CD...

      VkBrutaliaN

nope, since it would be nothing but pointless but this is what they wrote for those who wanna know and have a quick laugh... Oô

"Unfortunately, the item proved to be unobtainable. After accepting the order, the supplier needed to consider making additional quantity available because the item was no longer available in their inventory. However, they have now come to a decision to discontinue the item. So, it will not become available again and it needed to be canceled from your order.

      We apologize for the inconvenience."

@karai · ebi just found out there are still a very few indie vk shops left who had restocked the CD so i already could order another copy for the original price which this time hopefully i won't receive an cancellation email within the next few days... but thanks for your tip!

  5. RAZOR 1st minialbum is a perfect 10/10!

sick music, amazing shreds, the vocals everything about this release is perfect! so even if you weren't a fan of Born (like myself) you still need to listen to this by all means!!!

Congrats! And she will be embarrassed by your musical taste almost immediately and then in 25 years she'll be listening to whatever the brutal-kei equivalent to Led Zeppelin is on her own accord and think "maybe my parents' are cooler than I thought".

    4. Ada Suilen

      Ada Suilen

I'd like to have someone littler than me who I would be embarrassed about my music... my mother enjoys that I am different, my father... uhm... and my brothers have fun in mocking me about vk music and whatever (except my elder bro, who quite enjoyed The GazettE latest songs)...

  7. i can confirm DEVILOOF's new song is definitely the heaviest song they've put out so far and it is even over 5 minutes long and follows the roots of their first minialbum - 2nd song is going in the direction of their first full length and rocks pretty hard as well! ;D

      VkBrutaliaN

@Manji 卍nope in the 2nd track there's also no singing either... well at least not really its some notes in the refrain sung bei keisuke but its more like "scream/singing" so nope no real singing on the entire release ;D

    4. Manji 卍

      Manji 卍

      I'm fuckin hyped

  8. if you are into heavy Vk i really urge you to check out DictavE - you won't regret it!

  9. for those who care about such info all songs and lyrics of Noulla's 1st minialbum are composed/written by zin!

and i must say its a really AWESOME release and by now i can really dig zin's new vocal style - meaning this kinda (at first) awkward high singing cuz it really makes this totally unique and it fits the music perfectly!

    4. VkBrutaliaN

both are equally good imo.^^ but of course its better that for Noulla's mini you get more songs and compared to kuroi ringo's there are a few balstbeats on it.

@-NOVA- at first i was thinking if i should "handle" them with my normal CDs since basically except for FEVER 333 everything in my collection is japanese but then i was like screw it... XD

@monkeybanana4 thanks! took me tons of hours to make everything the way i want it and i still have a few ideas to implement but for now i thought this is the right time to film the video cuz otherwise i know i would've pushed it back for forever eventually cuz if you have such a big room only dedicated to your biggest hobby you always find something that could be slightly better etc.^^°

      anadentone

I just picture Akane screaming "Abe-Ue!"

    3. Tanishi

      Tanishi

It's criticizing middle aged bandmen (pro musicians) who were against japan's government/claiming to be anarchists/all that rock and roll stuff, who are now hypocritically begging Abe for money. Music is a high risk/high reward game so he's saying these times are what they should have expected being experienced musician and that they should step up and inspire their fans to dream in these troubling times (despite being middle aged/going nowhere with dead dreams themselves) using the power of determination or something. That's what public figures are supposed to do and if they can't do that they should quit music because this begging is pathetic.

It's incredibly blunt and aimed at a very specific audience but it's a fun read (as expected of Akane).

    4. BrenGun

      BrenGun

      @Tanishi
Thanks for a better sum up.

      But he is right tho...

And we all know, and many of us don't do it...

We know that we shouldn't spent all our money but that we also have to safe up money, so that we can survive for  3 months or longer.  Because it always can happen that something in the world happens or that you will lose your job.

And Abe said, he will help everybody....

Do you really think he will let go the "red district" / "entertainment" die?

But well it goes slower than in the west... but isn't Japan much bigger than most European countries...

So then stuff also takes longer isn't? Also we shouldn't forget that Japan is still a "Paper"  country.

While here (Europe) 99% goes digital.

  12. 古田 順子 Furuta Junko (November 22, 1971 – January 4, 1989) may you R.I.P...

this is probably the most fucked up, horrific and gruesome true story about torture, rape and murder i've ever heard in my entire life.

since i've found out about it yesterday i am constantly thinking about how bad this is... >.>''

like srsly i advise you only look the full detailed story up at your own risk - you might get mentally scarred forever...

also the GazettE wrote a song about it with "taion"...

my complete few of the song changed completely now that i know the intention behind it when Ruki wrote the lyrics for it....

and finally to keep it short i am kinda glad again i don't understand japanese anything near fluently because i know many of these bands write super fucked up lyrics and i always think like: how can japanese young super styled teenage girls just go all out and party over the music therefore - like srsly i often think (although there's almost nothing i love more than Vk) if i'd understand all the lyrical content i might get super depressed because of it....^^°

sry for that short story but i needed to get this of my chest *kinda*...

hentai!? wow - i just even found out about it because there was a brutal death metal band with a song titled with her name and i thought like: if her mother would knew about it... its like reliving all over again and i don't think its a good way to use such horrible things for lyrical content due to respect of what happened....

@Kiryu999All my CDs are in alphabetical order.^^

and *because i have a few more shelves* at the end of the cluster i have all new bought CDs in a row with the CD artwork showing in the front.

also stuff that needs to be finished until i'm done:

      * buying frames because i'll have chosen a separate wall were i will hang up only my signed posters/towels

      * getting a glass vitrine cabinet were i'll put only my rarest CDs out of my collection in it to display

      * and a few other little things i am currently not 100% sure how to do it/i'ff i'll end up reallising to do it... XD

and because it still needs quite some time to finish *and a bit of money* i'll hope to finish everything up around December and then i want to film a full roomtour which I'll upload to youtube - so thats the plan for now. ;D

  15. gotta love internet Vk heroizm although i gotta admit it became quite rare these days luckily.

so normally its like: oh this band is heavy - they are definitely dir en grey influenced...

BUT don't you dare to make the mistake and say because of like the heaviest song from the GazettE DOGMA era: i can definitely hear some dir en grey influence here... all of a sudden everyone goes like: what the hell!!? they are NOT dir en grey inspired!!! * although i am pretty sure if the exact same song would've been played by no-name band xy everyone would have agreed... When i first discovered them a few days ago i was just sitting there staring at the screen cuz i didn't know how to think of it other than i had no idea that a band can be so ridiculously heavy that it almost gets disturbing...

But somehow i came back to them and now i love them. ;D

  23. To make it official: JILUKA's 1st full length Metamorphose as an absolute Brutal系 essential!!

its most likely the most brutal and technical release ever done by a Vk band as of now and every song is perfect in every single way.

great electronics in some songs, and Ricko got some new "moves" as well. ;D like he does some pigsqueals for the first time (i think) although only just in the first few songs and some of his growls got a quite guttural tone to them which is sick!

and although i was kinda worried about the last song i only can say its a beautiful masterpiece as well - will definitly have that song on repeat for days too!

although i'd say i have only room for about another maybe 1000-1500 CDs tops and then i am out of room again but luckily that means i should be at least safe for the next 8-10 years anyway... XD

@xriko i do actually have a list were i write everything down but its not 100% up to date since i changed from many word files to one big excel sheet and probably a lot of CDs i obrained within my first 1-2 years of being a Vk fan are missing in the list so its not very accurate... XD
