It's not my overall favorite track, but i listen to it a lot currently. it's fierce.

i think atsuki's look is actually great - the silhouette, the ring on the shirt, the glasses, all the little details are stylish

what makes it look bad for me is that black lipstick. and with that weird face he made for the individual photo it looks even worse

let's see if the new label will be able to bring diaura on a new level. they were doing good up to the moment, but they can achieve more.

this somehow reminds me of late 00's vkei. rather simple, but naru's voice makes the song more enjoyable.

so Mio composed too! i thought he only wrote all the lyrics. impressive for a total novice in music, i can hear some european rock influence in it. i also like both tsubasa's songs. but so far it seems issei wrote the best ones. although the variety of songs sounds refreshing, just as you said.

about composing 受難 uta told like "i tried to combine best metal and visual kei traits in the song but whatever i compose turns out to be visual kei in the end" lol

So I got a copy of the album, listened to it through a few times in CD quality, and it's really grown on me. There's more variety than people make out (admittedly mostly thanks to songs not written by Issei) and the mixing isn't god-awful. Agreed, it's not quite professional studio-level quality but for a first release recorded in an apartment, it's not bad at all. I would say that the second press is a good purchase since it includes most of the good tracks and leaves out the instrumental fillers. I do really like unknown though and Blink is good apart from the highs.

 

As for the whole 'Issei is a dick' conversation, all I have to say is that his personality or private life don't have any bearing on his musical talent or whether or not you can enjoy the band's music. The dude's a good drummer, has a good ear for upcoming talent, and writes decent stuff. Not condoning his attitude or behaviour in the past, but as far as the music goes it's irrelevant in my opinion.

about all the issei drama i can't agree more with you. and yes, it's a decent work  for a first release, not every band can afford such a good quality production as kizu, for instance.

i was into that cyber oshare sound when i was like 15, so i can't hate this, but this sounds so over the top with all the synth sounds and autotune...

when i think of guitar solos, i think of sakito's solos in the first place. his guitar playing style is so graceful and gentle. naito made truly genius and unique music back then.

another one is by 9gbo. it's simple, but sounds demonic. uta's guitar sound is priceless.

and last but not least, megaromania. this one is gothic and cute, gives you princess in an old dark castle realness. 

from 2:50 pv starts looking amazing, except that photoshopped thing on 3:25 and a violin that looks stupid as no violin can be heard. the song is okay, but it sounds too plain.
