Yep... I totally understand what you're saying, pretty much said as much on the last page.  Indies films are great and all but unless big Hollywood sees that the modern viewer won't support these decisions nothing will change. So the more noise that is made about it, the better, imo.

The problem is it happens over and over and over. Her name is Kusanagi and especially in the original series, imo she didn't look white at all. And all but 2 members of the Section 9 team also have Japanese names and look Japanese in the series and the entire show large and by focuses on the corruption of the Japanese government, so how throwing in random white looking characters just makes no sense here, imo.

Batou could pass for a white dude, but the Major? This is on the heels of Akira which was planned to be completely white-washed, American name changes and changing the entire setting out of Japan. And if you step out of just anime adaptation you can find HUGE lists of this happening steadily. I can't say I feel this is blown out of proportion at all.

J-Pop are way behind K-Pop imho.
K-Pop know how to promote themselves, they toured places and use YT as channel to connect fans all over the world.
And they toured South East Asia aside from fellow East Asia countries where the demands and profits are big.
Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philipinnes, and so on, all countries that not many J-Pop artists pay visit to, though once they did, it mostly Anime convention than big production solo tour, save for a very major ones such as Ayumi Hamasaki, LUNA SEA, or L'arc-En-Ciel.
No K-Pop artist ever perform in Korean convention, and that helps alot with their image. Which is why DEG had refused to perform in Anime convention in the past.
    Missed opportunity in their part.
Not sure why they seem to avoid South East Asia when even major American acts never dare to.
Also, Korean people seems to have better pronounciation with their English, so few of them succeeded touring The States, even Big Bang had toured Australia last year. K-Pop are way more adventurous this waybyo expand their influence, at this rate I won't be surprised if we found K-Pop starts touring South Africa soon. When will J-Pop?

Piracy is universal and knows no borders. People stlil pirate in Japan they just have to be less obvious about it.

America (the country) is vast and largely empty. Europe (the continent) is small. It's roughly the size of half of America. Touring Europe is easy because you can visit one country and fans can visit from the surrounding country for a day or two because the trip is only a few hours. Touring Mexico and South America is a little more challenging, but the population there isn't spread so thin so it's easier to target fans by hitting major cities. Not so in America. We're technically spread across six time zones. I can drive for a few hours and not leave my state, much less the country. From my current location, it would take 10 to 11 hours of driving to reach Canada. It would take me near 20 hours by car to reach @CAT5 (trains are worse and planes are super expensive)! In the midwest, it can take hours to go from a small suburb to a decently sized city where a band might perform. If the show isn't somewhere within a few hours drive, I can't go.
No matter where they go or what city they perform in, 95% of American fans would have to "break the bank" or organize a trip out of a concert in order to go see them. This is why most (not all tho) Japanese bands that tour North America always hit the same cities. The GazettE may have a lot of fans overall in America but probably not enough to fill up venues consistently and make that money back. In addition they have to go from city to city and that's expensive too. It's not uncommon to hear of a Japanese "world tour" which totally skips North America.
We're lucky the GazettE even goes to Europe. There's a lot more to touring abroad than geography at play like work visas, working with promoters who can secure your venues, money, etc. I've heard of a lot of failed EU tours from visual bands after thousands of fans rallied together to bring UnsraW to Europe but only 100 showed up to the live house because "it was Wednesday and mom won't let me go to concerts on Wednesdays". I also vaguely remember the GazettE saying they hate touring America and won't come here but don't quote me without sources. But if I were to think of one good reason as to why Japanese bands run like hell from America, it's that it's so big it's difficult to tour.

    oh, there's some.
But one that most memorable for me is,
The memories is still as clear as my computer screen.
when we travelling together to Pattaya, Thailand.
We stayed there for a month, rent a flat on Jom Tien area.
And that was 2nd week of October to 1st week of November.
And on my B'day, he said to me to not do any chores,
he will serve me all day long, make me King of the day, he said.
He fixed me breakfast, cooked some Bavarian foods for Lunch,
and we eating out for dinner.
It was a very spacious restaurant,
our seat that already booked by him days before we arrived were on second floor.
Open air, we sat next to the beach.
The lights only provided by candles, t'was awesome!
    long story short, we ate.
and i said i am full, so i may skipped the dessert.
but somehow he insist i must take one, so O.K i will eat as i can i answered.
he got banana split and i neapolitan. During half of his banana split,
i already finished my dessert *so much for being too full lol*
but he stopped eating, he asked me to finish his,
i just raised my eye brow comically and eat it seconds after.
Couples of spoons after, i felt like i chewed on some hard substance.
So i spit it out, and see something glimmering on the puddle of chewed banana.
It was a ring, and he proposed me that night
We had 2 happy years before he passed away.

A single you can likely find in an album later on.
A maxi, sometimes you won't, it can act as stand alone song that were released to give artists some more time to finish an album so the gans won't feel such a long wait in between times.
Case in point: DEG's Ain't Afraid To Die.

don't fret, but i want all vocalists super band.
Two can take the guitar, one take the bass, one the drums, two others the vocalists and one can lurking around the stage playing with his dildo like Marilyn Manson or Til Lindeman did.
    Here's the member:
    - Kyo DeG (he is known can play bass and guitar, so he can be either)
    - Kyo D'ERLANGER (this is madness, but drums)
    - MORRIE (he's the Guitarist)
    - ATSUSHI SAKURAI (this one should be vocal, he's godly)
    - TATSUROU MUCC (another vocalist)
    - KIYOHARU KUROYUME (either bass or guitar)
    - the guy with rainbow hair, something maria, crossdress maria if i am not mistaken. (dildo guy)
