Scorpio Metal Apes. My western zodiac (scorpio) and chinese zodiac (metal ape) combined. I don't even believe in zodiacs, but it just sounds badass.

Well. I once tried to make him guess Odin's horse and he guessed Gandalf's horse. I considered that a victory.

Apart from some of the stuff already mentioned (classis 90s styles like La'Mule), I always found Yuuki's "Lady Liberty"-look quite... special.

Yeah, I guess the difference is that I was (as usual) very late to the game. I started Origins a few months before Inquisition came out, so I basically played all 3 games in a row, and I knew that DA2 was considered... controversial when I started it. So I didn't really have high expectations when I began and I found it to be not as bad as I feared from all the bashing going on. XD I must have been the only person in the world who appreciated that. My Inquisitor was a warrior, not a Disney princess, so I was happy they didn't force her into some frilly dress. (Well, eventually she ended up in a dress anyway for the wedding scene in Trespasser.)

probably the single greatest western RPG of the last decade, with only a few others able to come close to what I consider perfection. It's such a shame that Dragon Age 2 and Inquisition wasn't able to live up to Origins... I had such high hopes for both as well. Origins was just good in everything it did and was almost like a perfect combination of micromanaging party combat system, superb and interesting characters, really strong world building and lore, and RPG stat/class and equipment building. Dragon Age: Origins is great, but I guess I'm one of the rare kind that always liked the other two parts a lot as well. (As my sig probably shows.) I will admit that the 2nd part was definetely the weakest, it felt very rushed, the writing wasn't nearly as good as in Origins and the story was all over the place, especially in the first half of the game. I still had a lot of fun playing it, and the gameplay felt a lot smoother than the clunky combat of Origins. I also really, really liked Inquisition (played it like 3 times already...) My only critcism would be that they tried a bit too hard to be skyrim-ish. They could have scrapped some of the open-world-regions in favor for more story content. Or heck, just more stuff with your companions, because that was probably the strongest part of the game.
  6. I would be more exitited about this if Kyoka's bands didn't have the habit to vanish again before they really got started. But with a PV spot, a release date and tracklist, this may actually yield some proper releases at least. Definetely loving the preview so far.

Well, whenever I visit last.fm these days Avast is giving me a Malware warning, so... good grief.
  8. I'm sorry, but this isn't really the place for that. If we allow this to stay, everyone will start posting their promo links and we have a name for that: spam. Link removed and topic closed.

Their music is kinda all over the place and not what I expected. Not bad though, at least the parts where they aren't trying to be something-something-core.
  10. None. Even if I could get the rip elsewhere, I love touching my CDs, especially if they're digipacks. I'm a regular CD-molester.
  11. Okay, upon closer inspection it seems all those flimsy livehouse CDs I have are actually from before they changed their name. But I noticed that not even their regular stuff from after their name change has been posted so far, so here's all I got.
  12. Yay! I need their crappy oldschool goodness in my life. I did buy a bunch of them. I'm sure I'm missing some of them and I don't know which have been uploaded already, but once I have some time I can upload what I got.

VK does do the laundry for me and occasionally my hair. Seriously though, is it this time of year again to have another "Is VK dying" discussion? Okay, seriously serious now, it's just music like any other, there's good and there's bad, it's always been like that and I'm pretty confident it will always be like that. I don't listen to genres, I listen to bands. And as someone who is most likely the oldest person in this thread let me tell you: you never get too old for any music. XD
  14. Wait, we have to compete against Trombe? ....

Not quite. Yes, anyone who is a YT partner has to make their content availible for Youtube Red. That does NOT mean that this very content will no longer be availible for free. You can still watch the free ad-supported version of that content if you don't want to subscribe. It's essentially like Spotify: you can listen to it for free, but with ads, or you can get a subscription to get rid of the ads and have some additional features like an offline modus. There WILL be some additional content, specifically produced for Youtube Red that will only be availible via subscription, but that is ultimately in the discretion of the content creators. At the moment it doesn't seem that anything that is currently availible for free will be made pay-only with the new system.

What would be "relevant value"? Most people go to Youtube to do... what? Watch videos I suppose. I would say the "relevant value" of Youtube is to provide a central place for content creators to post their content and reach a huge audience. If Youtube wouldn't exist, content creators would have to post their videos on their own sites, pay for their own servers and bandwidth - and probably would struggle to even get close to the same amount of views. (And let's not get started with "move to Dailymotion" etc - Dailymotion isn't making a profit either, so that would only delay the problem.) So if they would actually start to charge money for the central core of their service, they would have to turn into a full subscription service. As I understand it, so far they only charge money for some side-features, that we didn't had to begin with. I mean seriously... that's like a car maker providing you with free cars for years, and then offering to add some fancy wheel caps for a charge and people start screaming: Oh no! This is the end! I want my free car, how dare they charge money for it! And even if the free car suddenly came without a stereo - it's still a free car. Personally I'm not interested in the fancy wheel caps, so to speak, but I'm happy to have my free car.

I don't think this has anything to do with stopping people from comitting copyright infringements. Copyright holders can already use the current content ID system to get their share of the ad revenue. But like I said: Youtube so far hasn't been making any profit whatsoever. How long do you think Google will continue to operate a site that is only causing them losses, or at best a break-even. Whether Youtube Red is the best way to go about it remains to be seen, but I think it should be obvious to anyone: Youtube is not a charity. They offer a service, they have expenses, they need to make money. So far they don't. I know these days many people expect to get everything free in the internet. But when it's free but ad-supported, they complain about the ads. When it's ad-free, but costs money, they complain it costs money. But servers and technicians/programmers don't run on magical unicorn poo, you know. They cost money.

I also think that last.fm is allergic to earning money or something. I used to have a subscription because.... well, it was cheap and added some minor benefits, so why not. But now I can't subscribe anymore. It says I have an active subscription even though I haven't paid for months. I'm not even sure if it's a bug or if I actually get any subscriber benefits (or what they are now anyway). You'd think this is a thing they made sure worked before getting the new site launched...
  19. Champ213

Actually, Youtube isn't "making millions" and never has. They barely broke even last year, and until then they pretty much only produced losses. So I guess it's no surprise they look for other income. That being said, at the moment Youtube Red doesn't really seem that interesting to me, not for that price. I don't mind watching a 30-second ad if it helps to support my favourite Youtubers. And if I don't want to watch ads, you can usually skip them after a few seconda (or use an adblocker for that matter). The one thing I like is being able to only have the audio play (good for mobile internet), but again, not worth the price.

I actually have been wanting to play Journey for quite some time, just never really got around to it.
  21. I ordered Kauan's new CD today. If it is as breathtakingly beautiful as the first 7 minutes, I may just cry throughout the whole album.
  22. Champ213

In an attempt to use my neglected PS3 more often I actually started playing "Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance" recently. Or as I would like to call it, "Metal Gear WTF, I don't know what I'm doing how did I even do that send halp!".
  23. Champ213

Soooo..... is this live DVD live-distributed only? Because that would suck. Otherwise, count me in. I need more gratuitous cape swirling in my life.
  24. Champ213

I bought some assorted metal shirts and hoodies to.. you know... look more metulz? (I guess they qualify as "music-related?). You can never go wrong with random runes, ravens and Mjöllnirs.
