Kaye reacted to Ito in The Upcoming Video Game Discussion Topic
Honestly, that trailer brought back the hype for FFXV for me. I was kind of feeling like the game was just boys in cars and this helped bring it back.

Kaye reacted to Hakoniwa in [Band Battle] Girugamesh vs. D'espairsRay
girugamesh through and through.
While I used to like D'espa a lot and I loved [Coll:set], they completely lost my respect after I watched a DVD of theirs. I know it may sound like a stupid reason, but I find it a little difficult to listen to their music after that... The way they interacted with the audience and among themselves really put me off. But yeah, especially with the audience, I guess. I still like some songs and all, but I've stopped listening to them since a long time ago.
On the other side, I've started liking girugamesh since their 13's reborn release and then their awesome mini-albums like (and especially) Reason of Crying. I somehow feel like girugamesh's members really love music. I also can't help but love Satoshi's voice, his still being one of my favorite male voices in japanese rock overall. I know they haven't kept their quality lately, but that goes for both bands, I guess. I really like them until MUSIC era and, to me, they seemed to be losing "fuel" after that... So I wasn't surprised when they announced their disbandment, it felt like a natural development. I was relieved, even, but also sad. Still, they were one of my favorite bands, so... :<
edit: ok and I agree with absolutely everything @sume7said lol

Kaye got a reaction from allisapp in ONE OK ROCK new digital single "Taking off" release
I'm pretty sure OOR is still playing what they want to play (Taka has been composing a lot) and not whatever whichever label is telling them to. The only thing I didn't like very much, and was probably done with reason, was their full English album. Part of the fun about OOR is their dual language lyrics. Taka addressed this last time I saw them live and said the next album will be Japanese again. Not sure whether it'll be released worldwide, or whether it'll get an all English version again or not, but anyway...
Having been there since the second album or so I definitely know what you mean with the changing styles, but at the same time bands grow as the members grow older. They find their own way and whatever they feel like doing best. We'll just have to wait and see what the next full album will be like, but saying OOR has ever been "heavy" or "alternative" or something would be a lie. If you'd want more of that I'd say to go listen to MFS instead.

Kaye reacted to nick in Sel'm will disband
I'm sad seeing them go. I've been following them since their initial era in 2005 because of their first vocalist, Tora, who was the ex-Girugamesh Vo. :<
They've been such an underrated band during their period. I personally enjoy listening to most of their songs though. Both Tora and Ryuga are good vocalists and perfectly fit the band's music in their own styles.
Well, 11 years in the scene is sure long for a VK band, and they've been through a lot. I just hope ex-Sel'm members will continue making music again.

Kaye got a reaction from Komorebi in Your opinion on "no pictures" policy on overseas lives
I think I'm one of the few people to actually say this is a good thing. Not specifically for the reason they say it is, but have you ever stood in a pit with people dancing and moshing around while a whole bunch of people are trying to film things and take pictures? You know how many times they look at you like you've murdered someone just because "oh no, my picture got ruined thanks to you". Then when they drop their phones and the screens crack, it's also your fault because you bumped into them. First few rows or balcony places are totally something else but don't take pics when you're in the middle of a moving crowd :/ (it's also annoying when other people who aren't filming are trying to look at what's happening on stage. You just get arms flinging around trying to take the perfect shot of their idols)
I'm also not really sure on what's so fun about watching a full gig through your phone/camera's screen while the people are playing right in front of you.

Kaye got a reaction from suji in Trombe has disbanded
To all the people complaining that now "there won't be any news anymore" let me tell you this as a person who's written for newswebsites for years: when you see one person do 95% of the stuff, you're easily demotivated to even go and try to see if whatever news you've bumped into is already there or not. So people who want to help but aren't as quick will either see that person as an easy way out, "they'll do it, I guess. Maybe already did", or will just start believing they're simply "not good enough" to bother posting anything at all. With such a person not around anymore, people will be more inclined to actually post a thing when they come across it. The "next gen" MH news people will show up by themselves for sure.
That said, Trombe did lots of work through these years, and all of it was because they felt like it. While they might not have made the best decisions concerning issues and MH as a team, the work itself can't be ignored. But doing lots of work (essentially no one's asking you to do) doesn't equal being able to do whatever the fuck you want to. Rules are rules. And they are there for every single one of us.

So who actually has successfully said they are leaving MH forever and actually never came back?

Kaye got a reaction from Original Saku in Currently Airing & Watching Anime Discussion Topic
You won't get the hang of the series without watching at least about 5 or 6 episodes. It's really misleading at the start because it needs to get into its flow, and it gets more intense and dark the further it goes. (If it's then still not your thing, I guess ReZero just isn't for you) But hell, it was the surprise of last season for me.
I agree with what @Original Sakusaid up there^. It's such a fresh wind in-between most of the series with a similar theme. I absolutely love how "real" Subaru is. How he gets his ups and downs. How he has to face the backlash of things he started without thinking things through. How he realizes he's fucked, basically. Yes, there are definitely generic parts here and there but the main idea of the show, and Subaru's character development (greatly thanks to Kobayashi for voicing him so perfectly), are what keep me interested.
If the novel readers' comments are any indication, it'll just continue to get better and better.

Kaye reacted to Original Saku in Currently Airing & Watching Anime Discussion Topic
Get further in before you call it generic, because The second and third arcs are where it's at in that show. It has really impressed me on a lot of fronts, characters have been so wonderful and I can't think of the last time I've been so enamored with certain characters that I really care about whats gonna happen to them next. Also that brings me to my sheer awe of the voice work in this show, it's god tier, especially the main protags. They have done an excellent job getting across the sheer terror the protag goes through with just the voice work and the face animation, I've been really impressed so far. animation has been pretty well done as well so far. Music has also been really great and reflects the seriousness f some scenes very well, plus I'm addicted to a lot of the catchy animu themes that this show has going on. but I digress there are some generic things like certain characters and plot lines, but the rest makes up for those I believe.
I'd say the show's biggest weakness might be the goofy scenes that the protag forces onto himself but I can forgive it because it actually has plot significance considering that's his way of coping with what's happening to him.
Best part of the show in my opinion is how real the protag feels and his reactions and feelings that he is having seem more realistic to me than most anime protagonists. He has an ego, and pride , and sadness, and fear, and lust, and greed. They do a really good job of representing these very human feelings in a lot of the scenes to the point where sometimes I can see myself reacting in the same manner if I was in his shoes. Not many anime have characters that can do that I think.
A very interesting show for sure, I hope you can make your way through it and maybe discuss what your take on all these things are.

Kaye reacted to togz in Trombe has disbanded
Stop. Just agree to disagree for hecks sake. Trombe chose to leave. No one MADE him leave. People are sitting here pointing the finger at the wrong people. No one told him to leave. It was a suspension not a ban. And frankly (despite the humor attached with the formatting of this thread) the post as a whole is a dramatic exit that has obviously proven to do exactly what it was intended to do. Stir everyone up and boohoo about Trombe leaving.
As @The MAD Stallionsaid... Other people have also been suspended who contribute here for breaking the rules as well. Trombe was treated the same and chose to throw a fit about it with this post.

Kaye reacted to Zeus in Trombe has disbanded
I derived endless amusement from the banter in this topic. The mental calisthenics some of you are going through to paint the staff in a bad light with absolutely no evidence to back it up really gives me a chortle. I don't know if you get your rocks off always being contrarian or if you just don't like us - and I don't really care - but now it's turning into personal vendettas against members who have beef with one another and who are using his departure as a cover. So now this ends.
@blackdoll, you in particular need to chill out. None of what you said has any basis in reality and @emmny is more on point than you are. Do not conflate the right to an opinion with being wrong. You shared your opinion and I am telling you that you are wrong. Enough already.
Thank you to everyone else in this topic who didn't jump to conclusions and who understands that this is a delicate, complex situation with no right answers. Trombe has been a vital part of Monochrome Heaven for a very long time but even long-lasting relationships don't always work out. I've said it before and I'll say it again: this didn't work out because the staff and Trombe no longer see eye to eye on how news should be posted and how the section should be moderated. The ban is a separate issue entirely from what everyone else in this topic is going on about and I'm reserving Trombe's right to privacy so don't ask or offer conjectures. Trombe will continue to post news in the form that he sees best and if that entails returning to MH at some point than so be it. Monochrome Heaven will continue to have a news section and you are all welcome to fill the void and post news.
In case you need me to make it extra clear for you: Trombe chose to leave Monochrome Heaven. He said so. We said so. If you don't believe either party, that's on you.
This topic will now return to wishing Trombe a farewell. Anyone who uses this topic as a platform for airing their own drama will have their posts deleted and receive a nice warning notification to go with it.
