  2. Nighttime Jae

The single is out now on every digital streaming platform!
  3. Tracklist: 1. ピリオド./Period. 2. 東京/Tokyo 3. Bluff The new single will be available on streaming platforms July 23rd for ¥765. Meanwhile, you can listen to the preview of the songs here. Needless to say, I'm super psyched for this! I think the previews sound awesome and quite different from their previous stuff, but still pretty great! What do you guys think?

When singers have vocal technique, it simply means that they know how to sing correctly; usually, you have to undergo some vocal training in order to acquire that. Singers that have vocal technique can be more or less "skilled", but they should be able to sing in a correct and healthy manner (stuff like support, breathing, pitch, switching between registers, lack of strain etc.)

I would say that style may be what may make them sound derivative, but tecnique in terms of knowing how vocals work?? That's not that common in my opinion lol
  6. Nighttime Jae

I think he's a good vocalist, but yeah never found him to be outstanding. He's good at what he does, but he's no vocal virtuoso.

It's a very mixed bag. In my opinion, the only way to find out about the real ability of a vocalist is live. Often, some guys that are really great on record can't deliver live: often out of tune and/or don't have enough vocal tecnique to last throughout a whole live. Sometimes sound can also affect the performance, e.g: obviously bigger bands have better sound, so they're gonna sound better live. Sometimes with smaller bands I find if the instruments are not balanced in sound, they can barely hear themselves, leading to issues with their pitch etc. But I think there are some really great live vocalists, and those who are most definitely have had vocal lessons: I know Yuu, one of CLACK inc.'s guitarist, works as a vocal coach with other vk singers as well, and obviously he's a very skilled singer with his own project Ultimate Sonic as well as the previous bands he's been singing in. Takeru, the vocalist of CLACK inc., has also great tecnique and he's been improving a lot live as well, so I assume he's been working with Yuu recently. This is just an example, I'm sure there's plenty vk vocalists that have singing tecnique and have underwent vocal training.
  8. CLACK inc.'s lives keep getting better and better

The second part of the live has been uploaded! This was such a good and fun live, so please everyone check it out!

CLACK inc. are gonna have a studio live tomorrow on Twitcast for 1000 yen (roughly 8 euros). There's gonna be a free viewing first. They've given so much for free lately, and 8 euros is really nothing for what you're getting! The payment system accepts overseas credit cards, so take advantage of it, and you won't regret it! I forgot to add, once you pay and watch the stream you can rewatch the live as many times as you want!

The MV for "5th", CLACK inc.'s newest digital single, has been released. You can find the song available on every streaming service. The current line-up is: Takeru (ex-EVE), vocals Ryo (ex-EVE), guitar R +Yuu (Ultimate Sonic, ex- Marvelous Maiden, Zodia, Affective Synergy), guitar L Avel (ex-Veinrot), bass Kenbo (ex-Art Elicia), drums

  18. I made a list recently about a lot of bands I follow in the Osaka scene, which is where my field of knowledge lies. Out of those, I can 100% attest that Clack inc., Ultimate Sonic, Doku and Visual Laboratory write their own stuff, but I think the rest do as well. I'm a bit on the fence for Hueye, simply because their style seemed to have changed a bit in the latest singles compared to their first one and it became a bit more... run of the mill vk band. But I wanna give them the benefit of the doubt. Other names that come to mind are Paradigm and Dobe. I'm sure there are many others.
  19. This is a very good analysis and I don't have anything to add to that specifically, but I will say one thing: it seems like the general idea is that it's only the bands in the current scene that are basically labels' puppets who don't write their own music, and albeit this is definitely true in some cases, I feel like this has pretty much always been a thing in vk? I remember that interview from years ago from an insider in the industry talking about older bands of the 90's- early 00's, and there was talk about bands using ghost-writers even then. In my opinion, if you wanna make sure that bands write their own music, stick to indies or at least follow the bands closely enough to know if they ever post about their composition process and stuff like that. Most bands I follow often post previews of the music they've been writing and stuff like that, so I don't even question it. That and of course pay attention to their evolution and sound and past bands and stuff like that, like most people have said. Basically, keep your eyes open.
  20. Nighttime Jae

I was mostly talking about the "shitty" part, so what I'll say is that sometimes bands that use ghost-writers may sound less shitty than bands that don't. Cindykate weren't bad at all after all (but trust me I don't really care for Poidol, it's just that anything that comes out of You's mouth is really irksome since Gosan to me is one of the shittier bands around)
