*LONG RANT*
So I was on the bus earlier and I was listening to a quiet song. I overheard someone near me shouting about how her daughter wasn't allowed to watch Power Rangers for some reason, so I took one earphone out and proceeded to eavesdrop. Then, a loud song that I really like came on, so I thought "nah, I'm not gonna listen to this with just one earphone", so I paused it, skipped back to the start, then kept the one earphone in and looked distant so it looked like I wasn't eavesdropping. Anyways, this is the exchange that I heard:
Woman (shouting at someone else): My daughter is not allowed to watch Power Rangers! If she sees Power Rangers on TV, she wants to be a Power Ranger! *turns to daughter to shout at her as well* What do you watch on TV?
Daughter: Power Rangers.
Woman (still bloody shouting as if the entire bus couldn't already hear her): No, you do not, you watch CBeebies! *turns back to other person* And that's all she watches. Either that, or horses, because she rides horses.
Oh. My. KAMI-SAMA.
This girl was, like, four or five years old and she's not even allowed to watch Power Rangers because her bitchy mother doesn't want her having an active imagination! I'm eighteen and I wouldn't mind being a fucking Power Ranger. Controlling parenting is my ultimate berserk button; I hope that little girl gives her mother hell when she grows up. I had to stop myself from getting involved. I think one of the only reasons I didn't was because I was nearly at my stop.

*VENT*
I wish my best friend would stop expecting me to listen to her problems all the time if she's not prepared to listen to what I have to say back. It really gets me down... it makes me feel like she doesn't trust me at all. She says it's because she doesn't want me to feel like I have to say something, but I always tell her I don't have anything to say and that I wish she'd stop telling me about all her hypochondriac issues that I can't do anything about (she's been doing this for years, and it gets old pretty quickly), but she does it anyways even though she knows it pisses me off and makes me feel helpless. It wouldn't be so bad, but she's not the first person who's expected me to just sit there and nod my head before. Don't they realise that making people feel like they can't do anything to help their friends makes them feel crappy, too? I get that it can feel good to get things off your chest (as I'm doing right now), but if it's over and over again and you're not going to listen to what the other person has to say, it's meaningless.

I feel like this type of ppl always has actual best friends they never bother with their shit and also friends of convenience that they dump the bullshit onto, and you should teach them boundaries/switch the subject once the whining comes up giving them an idea you aren't interested if the conversation about life issues isn't mutual.
my current go to line when i run into this behaviour is nodding a couple times and then outright telling them like 200 reasons I prefer candle meditation over talking to people who I know for a fact aren't interested in my personal problems.
-
Can totally relate. You could just outright say "if you're not gonna listen to what I have to say then we should just skip this conversation" or something. I've got to the point where I don't bother with niceties, some people will only get a reality check once you're blunt with them.
-
I always am blunt with her at this point, but she still doesn't listen. The weird thing is, I don't think she does it on purpose, but as I said, it's not the first time it's happened. I'm not a pushover because I've managed to end multiple friendships like this, but it still always happens to me and I don't know why... guess I'll just have to try being even more blunt. Thanks, you two.

Alabama Public Television is offended by a gay rat 🙄
-
Ugh homophobes. Alabama is a shithole. First they pass the dumbest abortion law ever and they get offended by gay people.

Can't help but feel that makeup colour names are getting less and less creative. They're usually just something boring and flirty like "Hot Date" or "Cute Boy" or "Nice Ass" or whatever but sometimes it's just ridiculous. I was looking at an eye shadow palette in Superdrug today and the pink one was just called "Colour". Also, let's not forget the nude brown lipstick I saw called "Gordon Brown". Oh, well, at least that one was funny as fuck.

I don't know what I'll do until Animal Crossing: New Horizons comes out. I've known about it for a while now but the excitement only really set in yesterday and I'm way too hyped. 🍃
Someone actually made this site and I'm so glad they did.

I Sonicrolled my media class today by showing them all the movie trailer at the end of the lesson. There was a surprisingly large proportion of students who hadn't yet seen it.
And on that note, I'm going to bed

I was at my grandma's today and my brother brought up Margaret Hamilton, the woman who wrote the code that got us on the moon. My grandma said she'd hate to be that brainy because she'd see it as too heavy a burden, so I said I'd like it as long as I didn't have that kind of job. She asked me what the point in being that smart was if I wasn't going to do anything with it, so I said with more confidence than I have ever said anything before:
"So I can tell people when they're wrong and mean it."
I think bitterness might run in my family.

I'm not even under eighteen anymore and even I'm thrilled about this. We should be encouraging parents to have healthy, non-vitriolic discussions with their children about this kind of thing if/when they get curious about it, not blaming people for having libidos and trying to prohibit them from safely acting on their urges.

Aye, I feel ya. They said this'd probably be the last race update in the game, but who knows? Some years down the line, it could happen (hopefully). Ah, well, I do like the Viera. I made a beautiful one last night.
It's fun dicking around in the character creator. I have so much unused appearance data.

Oh, so sorry. There are food which helps against those urinary tract infections. And I give my cat also new treats"Carnilove". And there are
kibbles against it. What kind of owners she had (sorry, I thought he is a male kitty ._.) Irresponsible owners, they must have had money to buy a healthy food to her. 😥 R.I.P. Grumpy -cat 😿🌈

Seeing as I'm getting a Nintendo Switch in three days, I figured I'd want the Nintendo Switch Online App... which of course means I had to buy a fancy-schmancy new phone. You're welcome, corporate overlords.
(Oh well, at least this means I now have access to more otome games...)

Seeing as we've been on the subject of gender and whatnot for the past few days now, I guess it's only fitting that I'd wake up (at about 3:30pm) to this.

So I discovered something really weird just now. If you drag a widget across the screen on MH, you can see the chatbox behind the background.
