      If you know of any particular interests your date has, try to get them something pertaining to that (obvs nothing too big). Otherwise, flowers are always a nice option.

    This is a weird question, but am I the only one who thinks that smart phones have taken the wrong route, design-wise?

    I'm sorry... but I really don't see the appeal in having wafer-thin phones that can bend in your pocket if designed poorly, or phones that are literally all screen.

     

    Imo, those don't improve my experience at all. If anything, they are a detriment to it because there is so fucking little to hold onto when watching a video. It honestly feels unergonomic to use, and this may just be my nostalgia for the early 2000's speaking, but I honestly miss the physical feel of old-school smart phones, and I honestly don't feel that just making the entire phone a screen, with no physical buttons at all, or even edges, really improves the user experience.

     

    I honestly would be happy with a phone that has the physical design of a t-mobile sidekick, but with the modern capabilities of modern smart phones.

      I like all the capabilities of a modern smartphone as you said and I don't mind having a touch-screen keyboard because it makes typing much quicker (I think so, anyways) but I think a lot of smartphones are way too large. I can't even go out with mine because I can't fit it in any of my pockets (not even my overcoat pockets) and I don't use a handbag. That being said, I guess that's fine because I've never found myself needing it while I'm out (if I need to call/text someone, I just take my tiny brick phone that I use solely for that) and it does mean I'm much less likely to break it.

      I am! I preordered the special edition Switch for it. It's a shame you couldn't get into it tho, but I guess ACNH isn't rly for everyone. From what I've seen it can be kind of divisive because of how slow-paced it is lol. And sure thing, we got some practice nails so I can show them here when I'm done! :D

      I got a Switch on March 20th so I've been playing that every day. I also started a nail art course recently which is obviously having to take place from home over Microsoft Teams but it's a lot of fun~ ^_^

    Who knew that Animal Crossing NH would have discourse at all? People pressed about people time travelling, and for how their towns look even. 

    Let people play how they want, if you're competitive at Animal Crossing then it's probably not the best game for you.

      Totally agree. I don't time travel myself but I don't have a problem with those who do. As for people getting jealous of other people's islands, the thing that I find with simulation games like AC is that it's meant to be played at your own pace and that the fun is largely in the journey, not the destination. I'd get bored of the game real fast if I started playing it one day only to find my house, character and island were already exactly the way I wanted them with no further developments to make.

    I'm so fucking scared of losing my job due to this outbreak ... I barely make enough to scrap by and can't afford to live on my own. How am I going to survive if all the airlines go bankrupt?

      I feel ya. I'm not employed yet but I've been looking for a job for months and I was set to have a tour around a local shop on Friday morning which would lead to a work experience placement, then a paying job if I did well enough. Guess what's getting rescheduled due to coronavirus.

      I once had a couple of neighbours who just fought all the time outside my flat by day and at night I'd often hear them doing it. They struck me as the sort of couple who thought they could solve all their problems by having sex and not actually communicating with one another so it's no wonder that break-up #278473 stuck.

    Idk what to do. I'm at my wits end and I'm trying to protect my cat from this piece of shit my partner's parents invited over. They're at the hospital, so it's me, my partner and him alone, and I'm trying to protect my cat from being beaten by a piece of trailer trash who thinks it's ok to hit animals when they misbehave. But that involves keeping her in a room away from him until he goes to bed, and she keeps crying
