Okay, I am FREAKING THE FUCK OUT. Someone hacked my email and sent me an email saying they have access to everything from my computer. To prove they weren't fucking around, they even sent me my password (which I had actually changed before they sent they email as I knew I had been hacked). They told me if I don't send them $900 in bitcoin, they'll publish everything they found to fuck-knows-who. I don't have anything illegal or any nudes of me/anyone I know but I do have some private things on here that I'd rather didn't get shown to everyone and pinned to my name. Now... here's the thing. They might actually leave me alone if I pay them but I think they might do it anyways. I don't know what to do and calling the police would probably be a bit useless because this person wants dollars so they must be in a different country, so the UK police probably can't do much. Wtf do I do? Sorry if this seems a bit... odd, but I'm 100% serious and I'm actually a bit scared.

Talk to @Zeus or @nostalgia - perhaps they can help. I'm sorry to hear this, sis.

Does this bear any resemblance to what was sent? There have been so many major breach dumps w/ information compromised, it's really important to enable 2 Factor Authentication on everything possible. Do NOT pay, they're bs-ing you, but do report the email.
Use these two services:

to identify any compromised accounts and make immediate changes + enable 2FA

@colorful人生 Thanks for your reply. I'll compare what I got to what's on that website you sent me:
The email did not contain the phrase "Hey, remember this?" as they know my current password and not any old ones (however I have been using it for a while).
They did seem pretty blackmailing with the whole "you have three days to pay me, which is a good offer compared to all the horrible shit that will happen if I publish everything!", to paraphrase.
They threatened this:
QuoteThose mails reach people from said breach, and they then see talk of somebody “knowing” their login details. That’s then used as leverage to claim the attacker has access to their PC, files, folders, webcams, browsing history—in a nutshell, anything personal and sensitive. The scarier they can make it sound, the better. In fact, one of the more eye-popping claims is that the scammer has video of the user viewing adult websites, and they will share this video with all the user’s contacts unless they pony up and pay a Bitcoin ransom.
And in classic ransomware fashion, there’s typically a ticking clock. Giving users a short time limit to deliver the payment is social engineering at its finest.
However, their email was not written with the same format as the one on the website.
Also, my email/password came up on Have I Been Pwned. 😕
So, some of it matches up and some of it doesn't.
