however I'd love to get more into chinese cuisine but real chinese food has a lot of meat so I haven't had a proper opportunity yet.

There are some good Chinese dishes without any meat, and some of it is pure deliciousness!

I really enjoy Chinese and Vietnamese foods. There are so much flavor, spices, and ingredients that it's hard to get bored, eating the variety of cuisines. My mouth waters thinking about steamed vermicelli rolls, roast pork belly, peking duck, ma po tofu (spicy tofu with meat - it's super good!), chicken curry, banh mi, pho (with all of its variations), and fresh spring roll/rice paper roll.  I also like Japanese foods (no surprise) with tempura, yakisoba, and okonomiyaki being some of my favorites. I've had less chances to eat Korean and Thai foods, but I've enjoyed what I've tried. I think there's a joke around my house where we say that to have a proper Asian meal, you must always have rice, lol. I've also eaten Indian and Nepalese food and liked it, but I've had less opportunities to eat these. The same also goes with African food - the stuff I've tried out is really good.

With that said, I also have a weak spot for European and North American dishes. Pasta, ice cream, chocolate, and the list goes on :P

I guess I pretty much like to eat/try out anything as I think there's always something fascinating and interesting about foods 😅

  2. It's been ten great years of listening to more J-rock/VK! The list was what I could think think of. It's in no particular order.

    Put it under a spoiler cut since it got a bit long ^^;

    Spoiler

    Develop One's Faculties - Reincarnation

Yuya's amazing vocals and the guitars make this a spectacle album worth listening to. It has a variety of songs and you never feel tired of it.

    Alice Nine - Gemini

The three parts to the Gemini song was a neat take from Alice Nine. It's also got some heavier songs that I wish they would have made more of. King & Queen is a personal favorite of mine.

    Kagrra, - 百鬼絢爛

The last album they released. It was a good farewell album for the band after being together for more than ten years. Listening to it makes me nostalgic for their music every time.

    Mejibray - Slivers.exe

Mejibray was known for releasing a ton of works with varying quality, but I think this one still stands the test of time. It's got the popular PV song, Slivers.exe, and shows exactly the talent this band had.

    XodiacK - 神羅万象-摂理-

Originally checked out this album because of the song, 君に降る絶望の雨. The cheesy, cheap-budget-looking PV drew me in, and the rest is history.

    Screw - Duality

A drastic change from their previous style, which some may not like as it veers more into the pop rock territory. However, it was one of the first albums I listened to by them, so it has a special place in my music library.

    Dolly - トロイメライ

A lot of good choices to choose from, but I went with トロイメライ since it's got some of my favorite songs from them. The softer sounds and the vocals work perfectly as with all of Dolly's releases.

    D=out/Doubt - CARNIVAL浮世

People dislike Kouki's nasally voice, but I like the charm of it (so sue me). I enjoy the combination of songs and the album artwork represents the kind of tone and theme they seemed to be going for in this album.

    Blood Stain Child - Epsilon

I don't listen to much of BSC, but it was one of their albums I happened to come across. I'm not sure if it's the best or the worst in terms of their discography, but I like to listen to it every now and then.

    vistlip - Gloster

A difficult one because I love both Gloster and Chronus as Gloster contains heavier songs while Chronus is a nice balance of tracks. However, I decided to go with Gloster since it's the one I have more memories with. But Chronus is definitely another album you don't want to miss!

    Royz - Tears

It was tough choosing between Revolution to New Age and Tears since both are good releases. But I ended up choosing Tears since it feels even more fleshed out and refined. It also feels like there's more flavor and variety here.

    9Goats Black Out - Calling

Unfortunately, Thanatos is a little bit early for this topic. But Calling is a fantastic album, and I highly enjoy the vocals and instrumentals. Such a shame they were such a short-lived band.

    Diaura - Genesis

This was another tough one between Gensis and Incomplete. However, I think I'm going with Genesis because of the overall flow and feeling of the album. I think nostalgia plays a huge part. Incomplete is still a fantastic work, though!

    Galeyd - Infitium

It doesn't contain their popular song, Precious Heart, but it's the first release from the band and Meku's guitar playing and composition made it unforgettable.

    Versailles - Holy Grail

A great selection of tracks that makes the album an awesome journey every time I listen to it. Kamijo's vocals here are fantastic as well!

    Moran - jen:ga

With Hitomi's voice, Shizna's memorable guitar work, and all around flavorful compositions, it's one of my favorite albums. Not to mention it's got a wide variety of songs, making it hard to ever feel worn out after listening to it.

    和楽器バンド - ボカロ三昧

I wasn't sure if I should include them here seeing as these songs are technically from popular Vocaloid songs and not their own compositions. But the combination of modern rock and traditional Japanese instruments always tickles my soul.

    Jiluka - B.A.L.U.S.

Tough, but I went with Balus since it's the first release I listened to by them, so I'm quite fond of it. For a great updated sound on their songs, Xanadu is also a great choice!

    キズ - おしまい

I'm cheating for this one since it's technically only a single, but I think it oozes with Lime's unique voice and qualities that makes the band stand out.

    DIMLIM - Chedoara

Such stellar talent and shining abilities jammed all into one album. Sho's vocals rock in this release.

    Slothreat - Allium

I was half-tempted to put down both Allium and Themis since I think they're both equally fantastic. Decided to go with Allium because it made me an instant fan of their works.

Here were some other ones I thought after compiling the list:

    the Gazette - Dogma

    Sadie - Cold Blood

    Fixer - ERs

    Razor - Red Invisible

    DIV - Secret

Matenrou Opera - Indies Best Collection

    Born - Independence Black

I probably missed a lot, but these were the ones I could think of.

  3. I started watching Demon Slayers, and I'm enjoying the plot so far. I'm interested in the strong bond that Tanjirou and Nezuko share, and I also like Tanjirou's character. I can't wait to see what kind of role the supporting cast/side characters will play.

Picked up Fruits Basket (the remake) since I remember watching the original anime many years ago. I'm curious to see how this new one will turn out, considering the anime technically never finished the plot as the manga was still ongoing at the time.

Sad to hear that the new Inuyasha anime is turning out to be more fanservice than actual story plot, though.

I haven't got onto a route yet as I don't yet have that much time on it. That'll change soon tho, don't worry haha X) I like all the characters so far and Gekkamaru does seem super sweet ^_^

Thanks! Mineo is just the cutest, isn't he? I was also very pleasantly surprised :D

Haha, no worries~ I'd love to hear your thoughts on it once you start digging into the routes!

Yes, he is~! I already thought he looked cool from his picture, but I had no idea how how much of a cute dork (and history buff) he'd be XP But all of the characters in the game are great. I have a hard time picking which one I like best, lol.

Nice! I've been playing Nightshade recently and it's really impressed me so far. I'm not too far into it but I really like Kuroyuki at the moment! Although, Goemon is also tempting lol. Also, I love your Collar X Malice pfp~ :D looks like CXM pfps are becoming a trend here! Might change mine soon haha

Ooh, cool! Yeah, the artwork is gorgeous and the story is really good~ I love how mischievous Kuroyuki can be and how hilarious (and handsome, lol) Goemon is. Whose route(s) have you played so far? ^^ I ended up really liking Gekkamaru, haha. I think I'm a sucker for those types of characters XD

Aw, thanks~ ❤️ Haha, it seems to be XP And I love yours, too! I was surprised by how much of a loveable dork Mineo turned out to be  :P  His route was super funny and light-hearted; gave me the fluffy feels all over, haha.

  6. Recently started watching the Chinese drama, The World Owes Me a First Love. It's starting out quite hilarious and the dynamic of the main duo is really good.

I'm also in the middle of watching Tunnel, which is a Korean mystery/detective drama. I love the time skip concept and how the main character sees how the "future" turned out for those he knew in the past. The story of what happens to his wife is so sad, though 😭

  7. Recently been on an otome game binge, replaying some older ones and newer ones that I missed over the years (Hakouki, Code Realize, Collar x Malice, Nightshade, etc.) ~ I forgot how beautiful the artwork can be in these games; it's always such a treat! Not to mention the voicework is always superb.

Overcooked 2 - I've been playing it with a friend, and the levels are super fun and challenge. Trying to get that four star ranking can be quite stressful at times :P

    Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance - The days when there was only permadeath for all characters. I ended up restarting some of the maps several times when one of the characters died, lol. Chapter 17 was super grueling with its four stages ^^;

  8. Haha, like @Total Saikou, I'm somewhat new so we don't really know each other but welcome back! And otomate games have also been eating up a huge chunk of my life, haha. Currently, playing some older ones, but there's a lot of new ones that are so good, and I want to play it all, haha :P

Edit: Also followed you on Lastfm~ ^^

  9. Unfortunately, I don't watch anime as much these days, but I still enjoy going back to watch old seasons or series I've missed in the past. I've watched some newer ones on occasions. I think I first began watching anime with DBZ and Pokemon. Time flies!

Choosing a top five is tough! There's a lot I like watching even if it's just for nostalgia or something else. If I had to choose (in no particular order):

Yu Yu Hakusho - Love this series. Comedy was hilarious, and the dynamic between the characters are unforgettable.

Trigun - It's got 90s animation all over it, but I highly enjoy the plot. The goofiness combined with the dark depth underneath made for a great combination.

Ranma 1/2 - Extremely funny and the whole gender-bending "issue" made all of it even better.

.hack//sign - Virtual world gaming, but with a whole lot of psychological issues and other serious elements

Death Note - Interesting concepts of Death Gods and the Death Note. The two opposite rivals was neat, too.

Honorable Mentions (if my list of favorites could be even longer XP):

    Inuyasha - The plot and the characters were great, but there was way too much filler towards the end in the original series ^^;

    Wolf's Rain

    Evangelion

    Saiunkoku Monogatari

    Fushigi Yuugi

    Akatsuki no Yona

Rurouni Kenshin - I'd say the whole series, but it's been too long since I last watched it. I distinctly remember the Shishio arc, though.

FMA - Sadly, I've only watched the original one. But I've heard the Botherhood series is really good. I need to watch that someday to compare, lol.

    Fate/Zero

Mai-Hime - Starts off silly and nonsensical, but it gets quite serious towards the latter half of the series. Love the music in this one.

I got Fire Emblem: Three Houses about a week or two ago and holy hell, I don't think I've ever been so engaged in a game's story in my life. I was slightly apprehensive about the combat system but I quickly got the hang of it and I'm so glad I stuck around. Dimitri is definitely my favourite character.

Ah, so you chose the Blue Lions first? :D I did that as well, haha XD I ended up liking all the characters in the group. I think Dimitri is a super interesting character. It’s hard to not like him, lol XP

RE2 remains one of my top 3 PS1 games and my favorite in the series (although, I'm biased as this was my first RE game ever). I'm actually the opposite having not played the REmake yet. Curious to know your thoughts!

I feel like RE4 doesn't need a remake. At least, not yet. Mechanically, it practically defined how the next generation of survival horror games play (including REmake 2 & 3) so it'll probably play similarly to how it did in 2005. And unlike RE2 & 3, the game is readily available on any platform imaginable. If the rumors are true I hope they have more planned than just a visual overhaul.

Yeah! I'll definitely let you know ^^ I'm super hooked to the series now, so it's on the playlist for sure, lol. And I'd be super curious to know your thoughts on the REmake if/when you get a chance to play it!

    Agreed! I also think it heavily influenced (or at least made popular) the over-the-shoulder view in action shooting games (implemented in games like the Remakes). But yeah, let's hope that remake doesn't come too soon if it's happening ^^;

  12. Finally managed to finish RE2 Remake earlier this year. It was a blast to play through. Hardcore mode was tough with a limited inventory space and ammo. Now, I really want to play the original one to see how it compares :P

RE3 Remake was enjoyable, but I think there was potential for the game to be even better than what was released. That being said, I love the graphics and the new character designs in this one!

Picked up Spiderman (Insomniac). This game made me fall in love with traversing across the "world" within the videogame. Being able to websling around the city was cathartic and highly exciting. The voice acting felt solid, and the graphics look great.

Currently playing through RE4. While it's more action-oriented, it's absolutely super crazy, but insanely fun, and I love every moment of it. I wonder if the rumors of a remake for this game are true. Not sure how I'd feel about if it was for real.

So finally, excel file with my collection comes in handy.

    I also update my collection in an excel file sheet. Although, I've fallen a bit behind on updating it ^^;

    As for my VK collection:

CDs: 320+ (Approximate amount; including comment CDs) - I also have a random assortment of non-VK CDs, but I'm not sure of the exact amount since they're stuck elsewhere. But probably about 100+ if I had to estimate.

DVDs: 100+ (including comment DVDs, couldn't get an exact amount since I don't have all of it on me)

Chekis: 275+ (there's more but some aren't with me)

As for magazines/photobooks/pamphlets, I'm not sure of the exact amount but probably somewhere around 50. (I need to still catalogue these one day, lol.)

And for flyers, posters, and photosets/photocards, I also have a bunch that I've collected, but I'm too lazy to count it 😅

  14. I love these VK PVs/MVs for their bright, colorful and somewhat goofy aesthetics.

    DIV - Taste of Life

    Spoiler

    SuG - Gr8 story

    Spoiler

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu - Pon Pon Pon - This one isn't VK, but it's also got colorful, bright, and silly aesthetics. Not to mention it was everywhere at the time, so it's permanently stuck in my head.

    Spoiler

There's always something very aesthetically beautiful about Moran's PVs that I always admire. My favorite in particular is this one:

Moran - 春の夜の、ひと雫 - It uses computer graphics (I believe?), so the scenery isn't shot in real life, but I think the artistry of it perfectly fits the heartfelt ballad.

    Spoiler

And my nostalgia enjoys the dark aesthetics and random black and white footage in the Reddish PV by Despairs Ray even though it's just them mainly playing in front of the camera.

    Spoiler

Vidoll - I my aimai - Couldn't find a better quality sadly, but the crazy and chaotic way it is shot is just my cup of tea for early to mid 2000s VK. Props to it being filmed in broad daylight in some random outside areas.

    Spoiler

Kagrra, - Kotodama - The effects (i.e. water ripples) and aesthetics help add to the overall dark themes contained within the lyrics.

    Spoiler

Hello, thank you ! There are many songs realesed by SCREW that I like (especially Wailling wall or Doukoku No Ato). Too bad their songs became too commercial to me in the end :(

Oh, same here! Wailing Wall is another one of my favorite songs by them. I still loved them, but yeah, I agree. I was sad about the direction they were taking (music wise) by the end of their career. At least they left us with some great songs, though!

Been wanting to play TWEWY since I was about seven so imagine how delighted I was to get Final Remix for my Switch! I have not been disappointed at all and the soundtrack absolutely bangs.

Love the songs from TWEWY! It always makes me want to get up and dance (horribly). My personal favorite is the song, Twister.
