Hopefully their DVDs will be better than BORN's - those tended to be rather poor quality, so I don't blame you for not liking them much if you've never gone xD I shall keep my eyes put for kameras xD Do you follow them on twitter? Ryouga especially posts rather long clips quite often 😀 Looking forward to hearing your thoughts! I won't get it until I get back in a few months, unless someone puts it up online before that 😑

If I may throw in my five cents here... I have followed Ryoga since BORN were just a tiny indie band, where I saw them from the back of a tiny venue. They were the last band on stage, and I didn't pay them much attention, but I did notice that they got the crowd moving. Since then I started seeing them, first at events, and later I went for them specifically. Because my first impression was correct. Ryoga may not be the best vocalist in the world - BORN was messy and RAZOR isn't much different, and his vocals certainly doesn't make it any better, but it serves its purpose: Their lives are super fun. Messy, sweaty and crazy. I have followed Ryoga into RAZOR because of the energy he brings into lives. He gives it 120% and that energy just pours over the edge of the stage. And if it doesn't he will force feed it to ou and shove it down your throat. They are a live band first and foremost, and a great one if you like a goodhearted abare band <3 All that said, has anyone gotten their hands on the new single, 「紅く散らばる華」yet?

Has anyone in here seen these guys live? I was on such a tight schedule last year in Japan I didn't even think to look into them, which I have since then regretted again!

Introduction time... Okay! I was 20 when I discovered visual kei for the first time. It was the time when Miyavi was a multicolored freak with piercings all over, running wild as he showcased his crazy guitar skills to the world. I was in love, obsessed with this new scene I had just discovered, and I had done so at a time in my life where I soon had the chance to choose my own direction. So, I changed the course of my life, and here I am, a decade later, still in love with a scene that I have been a part of, same way it has been a part of my life, for ten years. I have spent years studying and researching v-kei culture in uni, I have lurked at the back of venues for many shows on passes from work, and tumbled around at the front for many, many more as an enthusiastic fangirl. I like to see bands objectively and appreciate each for their strengths - most important for me personally, though, is their performance live and I won't judge anyone before seeing them at least once. As for music taste, I find most of my favorites through lives, where I prefer the somewhat wilder ones. Absolute favorites are the GazettE, Nocturnal Bloodlust, Diaura, RAZOR and Dadaroma. And I'm a die hard D’espairsRay and Mejibray fan, too. I am not much for the older bands, and I try not to get into indie bands, but there are exceptions for both. My current indie crush is Dexcore and I've had some weird moments of insanity where I went for cuter things... but I try to forget xD Aside from that, I follow the activities of AKi (SID, solo) and Kenzo (Gremlins, solo) closely as they are special to me and has been for a very long time ❤️ Outside of our dark and sparkly world of visual kei, I try to balance my time between being an artistic jack of all trades and an adventurous world traveller. But that is a whole other story! Cheers.

Well, you did mention RAZOR xD I love several members, but Ryoga is a personal favorite whom I have been following for years. You know the power of live performances! I saw BORN years ago, and though their music wasn't the best, Ryoga's performance was crazy fun and he made the crowd go wild! I have followed him ever since ❤️ Same reason, really, that I love Dadaroma, Arlequin and Mejibray, too. XaaXaa never made that big an impression on me, tho, but they may have been outshined by the others in the lineup xD Haha, never saw that. Why is it that jrockers who cook on tape are so adored? Kai had the same thing happening xD I spent a gig standing next to Shohei once tho - i was like, whoa, tall, dark and handsome, what more could you want? And I'm a bass girl, so I was sold xD

Hi! I would say welcome, but I'm even newer here than you, I just liked your introduction 😊 You seem to have good taste (who am I kidding, you mentioned one of my fave boy's band as one of the first xD), and I found it hilarious (and scarily recognizable) to feel old in the fandom by 20. Get used to it! I'm here many (!) years later and somehow I feel like I'm the only one getting older. Also no man, Arlequin are nice! And Shouhei is hot af. Actual bass porn.
