I’m also planning something by next year. For those of you that have gone...is it better to plan ahead of show announcements and go for a longer period of time, or wait until a major event has been announced, and wait to book until then? I just seem to notice that most regular regular tours are announced about two months in advance, but festivals are usually announced more like six months in advance. Other than Kansai Rock Summit in May, it’s hard to find festivals that happen every year. I may set May 2020 as my goal for Kansai, and see what else I can get around that time.

Yeah, it would be nice if Western Canada were thrown a bone once in a while for something that wasn’t an Anime con or a Japanese fan club only show (like Gackt did once, iirc)

The friends and I are flying out from Winnipeg to the Toronto show. I could never see myself seeing them in Japan, so I’m going to spend $250 on VIP tickets and fly to go see them...wait, what am I doing again?

It’s kind of unfortunate, because they could actually use their resources to reach international fans much sooner than they’re on track to now. One of the biggest barriers to reaching international fans is the lack of confidence in being able to communicate in English. Issei understands English well enough, but uses it to be a douche canoe (I wouldn’t be surprised if he actually wrote that tweet on the bassist’s behalf). Twitter is free. So many ways of communicating with fans are free. Most bands would love to have a member that can write coherent messages without relying on Google Translate. Even mediocre bands can get significant followings if backed by a member that can communicate directly with fans (see: Kiwamu)
