Finally pumping some K-drama back in my life <3 !

@doomboxWell I guess you can have more self control and avoid binge watching shows because of that. Kdramas and any drama in general can become toxic XD
-
@doomboxThat should become a speech at a toast 👏😂.
You're alright. Don't go in the binge watching hole, you don't need that mess in your life XD
Somehow with every year I gain, my attention span just gave up on me so I can literally spend 1 hour staring at something. I hope I blink though.
-
I'm the type who has a deep history with hardcore hentai, read a lot of manga of such genre, but I still get awkward and embarrassed at steamy lyrics XD.

@AimiGen7I stay away from that song too, for probably the same reasons XD. And because everyone I know that likes the GazettE seems to always make me listen to that song XD.

For some reason, my weird ass is ok with "Akai Koudou", which is about incest, and "Sentimental na Onigokko", which is about.. well IDK for sure but it definitely ain't rated PG. But yet hearing Ruki say "Die or suck my beast" in really bad pronunciation, along with those female backup vocals and the pop beats just make me go "Nope, ain't doin' this". It's essentially the Vkei equivalent of "Open bob and show vagene"
-
Oh I know those songs (my friends made me listen to those too XD). I think "Sentimental na Onigokko" could be about stalkers (somehow the lyrics make me think of those dudes who like to take photos of girls without consent or smell panties). Yeah, for some reason they don't make me uncomfortable either, I just giggle at the lyrics XD.

I love searching for dad jokes to update my knowledge, but some of them are just.. whoever said "What's brown and sticky? A stick." needs to stop XD. At this point I don't know if I should continue laughing or start questioning my morals.

Oh my god I'd tell you guise a joke about construction but I'M STILL WORKING ON IT XD.

Finally reading Gravitation after so many years and it makes so much more sense now than if I had read it as a kid XD It’s more wholesome that I imagined it though 😂

@BrenGun The manga is pretty vanilla too. The plot is intense in the sense that it literally escalates so much! You’d think that the anime was enough but noo 😂 Those 13 episodes only showed like 5% of the actual story.
What drama ? And yes, the dramas are sooo different than the mangas !
-
Ah that way, yes true... but that made the manga also boring after a few volumes too much escalating etc.
This manga/drama

The manga is really amazing *_*
-
@BrenGun O M G I have so many feelings for this 😍! I have been wanting to read the manga for a while but never got to actually do it. I’ve watched the drama like 100x times and I can never get enough of the story 💕!

I hope my professor will be ok with me inserting some loanwords I found in vkey interviews for study purposes in my graduation paper XD

Oh I'm basically writing my paper on Japanese loanwords and I'm doing kinda this from past to present theme where I talk about the old ones that no one uses today and the new ones. So I thought it would be a nice idea to talk about how they use a lot of words from English when they mention instruments or music types or other music terms in general *w*. But to be honest I don't have this well structured idea as of now XD
-
That sounds cool! I think it's interesting when loanwords take on lives of their own in the second language. Like, I've never heard of "A melody" or "B melody" in English-language discussions of music composition, but "Aメロ" and "Bメロ" seem like really common terms in Japanese-language band interviews.
-
I'm gonna be total nerd now and say that I really love researching etymologies of words in general, especially when it comes to loanwords XD. The ones in Japanese kept me awake a lot of nights reading about them. I love it when they throw in terms like that, it makes me think for hours what are they trying to say hahaha XD. That's why I was thinking of writing about that in my next chapter of the paper XD.
-
I'm so lazy today oh my god. Like I just made a sandwich and I'm tired ugh. I also love complaining while I do stuff.
-
My mom's coworker was like "Oh so you went to a lot of concerts in Japan? Like what?"
"I uhm... Japanese bands... and Korean groups?"
"Oh..." and literally left her seat XD

@doomboxWell, you could do that too to be fair but, I really didn't know what that reaction meant 😂.
-
In this mess of today at least I found out the author of one of the mangas I enjoyed reading is planning on continuing publishing new chapters soon <3.
-
@BlackSwan_86 It's a BL one called Hyakujitsu no bara ✨. I recommend it because of the historical period it presents. Even though the world is fictional, it's kinda in everyone's face it's a relationship between a Japanese and a European (I would go as far as saying the European man is German, judging by the name) and it takes place during the World War. It's a bit violent and I got emotionally invested in it so I can't wait for the new chapters. It has an OVA adaptation but I seriously would suggest reading the manga first, because in my opinion, the anime is disappointing and it doesn't serve the manga any justice.

I forgot how much I used to love Do As Infinity until today ;A;.
-
If only @Hakoniwa were around to see this. (literally the biggest DAI fan I know). But I used to love them as well - were one my very first favorites back when I was getting into Jpop. Will always have a soft sport for Shinjitsu no uta. Any notable favs?
-
@CAT5Fukai Mori will always be in my heart for me. Shinjitsu no Uta unfgghhh yess <3. Makes me wanna watch InuYasha again XD. Kimi ga Inai Mirai and Rakuen too <3. I had to check out their names again now. Most of the oldies but goldies of mine are songs that were either openings or endings in certain anime XD.

My Japanese went from learning the basics, then being able to communicate, having proper conversation and now it all goes down to how many curse words can I find to use to express my anger 🙃
-
@AimiGen7Exactly ! And Japanese curse words make me feel like I'm holding in a sneeze and showing my double chin every time I get angry XD. They're just not satisfying ;A;
-
I love it that my coworkers who speak Japanese went to the same uni as I did and are just as weeb and otaku as I am XD. But every time we try fangirling about stuff, there's the new coworker who also speaks Japanese who's like "I don't watch anime, read manga, listen to Japanese music, watch any shows, know slang or curse words or relate to anything regarding their culture." And we're just there like o.o#
-
@yomii Right? I have so many questions for her. Like how did you get through without having any interest in the pop culture? I'm still shaking
-
Throughout my years of learning foreign languages I realized that my most fluent time is when I get drunk XD.
-
I finally quit my job and now during my last few days left working here, I requested to work a half day shift, which basically means that if I'm working in the morning I finish at 1 PM. I did that today and it literally felt like I skipped school , I feel like a rebel XD.
-
Trying to love myself more had been a challenge so far, but I realized that if I didn't love myself, I wouldn't have tried so hard to do better in life and aim towards a desired future.
-
Lack of self-love is usually something we've learned and internalized - often from a young age, so actually learning to love yourself takes time, and it doesn't happen overnight, so be patient and compassionate with yourself! But you're right too - sacrificing in the present for your future self is absolutely an act of love too (even if it doesn't feel like it XD ) ! Keep pushing forward, sis!

I value my favorite musicians' taste in music a lot and most of the time when they mention a song or a band they like, when I look it up I end up liking them too. So thanks to my favs 💕
-
Yep, I've also discovered quite a few gems via some of my favorite artists. In fact, a few of the artists I enjoy recently shared their spotify playlists - and not only is it cool to see what they listen to, but it's also wonderful to be introduced to so much new music that's already in line with your own taste.
-
-
When your best friend speaks as many languages as you do and your conversations are basically just foreign words grouped together so they form sentences 😭 It's amazing when you don't have to explain a word that much 😂
-
You know when people say they left their hearts in certain countries they fell in love with during traveling? Well I think I left my stomach in Korea because all I'm craving is kimchi and hotteoks dammit.
-
@Takadanobabaalien Ah, I know that life too XD

My Korean teacher made us practice some things she'd taught us by asking us some questions. Everyone got asked who was their favorite singer and I was there all ready and prepared with several answers haha. But then when she reached me she was like "So what's your favorite food?" GURL
-
@yomii Yes it is ! Honestly the fact that I had learned Japanese helped me soo much now XD. The only downside is the pronunciation; some sounds require a bit of a practice and there are some rules on how to pronounce some sounds after or before other sounds XD (I remember going home after that lesson and just sleeping because my head hurt). They also had decided to have a lot of words with similar writing and pronunciation, but they mean different things (like the word of apple means apology depending on the context XD). Other than that, it's pretty nice to learn it and the learning materials are very accessible.

Miyano Mamoru: * breaths *
Me: I love this song you are amazing 😭😭😭💕
-
@SakuraFox512 Dude I just had a mind blown experience listening to Aiolin’s Orpheus 😂
The first few seconds I was like naaaah but then the more he sang the more I agree that his voice is very similar to Mamoru’s 😂 Also the song is matching too. Hmm

I am currently catching up with Shingeki no Kyoujin and honestly Hyde's and Yoshiki's song for the OP 3 is actually nice ! Like it blends so well with the graphics and all. I think I like it more than the others (O A O).

Me listening to "Kimi ni sachi are" by MUCC and feeling the part were Tatsuro says something about chewing rotten sand and calling the person a bitch as if I actually had someone in my life like that XD.
