I went to Bled Fest, located at the Hartland Performing Arts Center in Howell, MI on Saturday, May 27. First act I saw was Heart Attack Man; the Cleveland duo, with a support bassist and a support guitarist, started the day right for me. Check out this interview, with vocalist/guitarist Eric Egan, about how close the duo were to rerecording the entirety of their recently released album: http://modern-vinyl.com/2017/03/03/interview-eric-egan-heart-attack-man/ Eighth act was Koji. The Pennsylvanian man of Filipino-Japanese descent shared a few stories throughout his set regarding his personal life, career and political activities; one of them was his couchsurfing days, ongoing at the time of speaking, because of him being denied of housing after arriving at a Brooklyn apartment complex and him finding all of belongings stolen from the trunk of his car during early 2017. Despite those happenings, he was optimistic of his future being free from consumerism and materialism. The set ended with a cover of Pete Seeger's We Shall Overcome. Final act was La Dispute. The Grand Rapids, Michigan band performed, from front to back, their sophomore album Wildlife, with an encore consisting of two songs from their most recent album Rooms of the House and two songs from their debut album Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair. If you want to see what passion fans display for a band, especially with the vocalist's lyrics often written as if they are spoken word pieces, this is the band to go see live. They've done, in my eyes, the West Michigan music scene proud. If you would like to learn more about their history, do consider buying or streaming their documentary film Tiny Dots.

I was on the way to Bled Fest at the time this photo was taken. What was ahead that day was nothing but riveting moments found in independent music.
  14. Safe and sound in a pizzeria walking distance from hotel. BLED FEST tomorrow!

When I learned of him passing away, I couldn't bring myself to watch more than a few seconds of watching the Lazarus music video; it made me want to cry so much. I bought the Ziggy Stardust album, also MCR's Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, on March 3, 2013, barely a month since a big event in my life happened.

It'd be nice for Placebo to announce a US tour soon; setlists for the past year have been impressive.
  18. Gotta make it through work today so I can sleep well for Bled Fest this weekend!

  20. So glad that tourist season ended in town. No longer have to face congested traffic, especially when on the way to work. :glitter:

  21. May my mind mellows out to the point of falling into a deep slumber.

I wonder how the band reached the decision of omitting this song from one of the configurations for Decemberunderground. This song, until given to AFINewsHQ by an unnamed source, was not available on any format expect for the unreleased EP which was auctioned for $8,000. That's a bit of history to recall, readers.

Two weeks ago, in honor of Record Store Day 2017, I went to Vertigo Music, located in Grand Rapids, to party with plenty of music lovers; this is the aftermath: Starting from the left at the top: Basement's I Wish I Could Stay Here Crystal Castles's Crystal Castles (II) Prince's I Wish U Heaven David Bowie's David Live (2005 Mix) Nine Inch Nails' Pretty Hate Machine The World is a Beautiful Place & I am No Longer Afraid to Die's Harmlessness Rot In Hell's Ruined Empire

It's me, Hohchicano96; I may be familiar to a number of users because of my presence on the RarezHut auctions. Finally, after lurking for a few months, I pushed myself to create an account to interact with visual kei fans. I hope to have some connections in the near future. A number of VK artists I listen to: Aliene Ma'riage (or Maφriage) BAISER (Both eras) deadman (Wha' ha' happened to the photobook?) Dir en grey (One of the first visual kei groups I learned of) hide (Forever beloved) Himitsu Kessha Codomo A (Does Eiji still have Peter Pan Syndrome?) La'Mule (Nao's dyed hair I'd picture myself having for so long) Laputa (Inappropriate name for hispanohablantes to say) Malice Mizer (Same situation as DEG) Nightmare (The reason why I'm typing this sentence) A number of non-VK artists I listen to: AFI (Can't wait for the Detroit concert!) Against Me! (Laura is love, Laura is life) Brand New ("The Devil and God..." album I fully process when lying) David Bowie (The museum exhibit, in Chicago, was an eyeopener) The Fever Haze (Support your local music scene, bitches) La Dispute (I hope to see them at Bled Fest this year) Marilyn Manson (The first western artist that led me to not listen to visual kei bands exclusively) Panic! at the Disco (Not just the Fever and Pretty. Odd. eras) Placebo (When will they return to America, making it great again?) Prince (He makes me just wanna dance, you sexy MFs) Still reading? Yes? Well, do feel free to ask questions, leave recommendations, read and throw shade, hennies!
