      @lichtlune That song makes me Nostalgic of listening to Cure's short-lived online radio station in 2009 (curemediausa.com). The DJ (was his name Shion?) wasn't shy about his taste and would basically play DELUHI, ALSDEAD, アンド and similar bands over and over again.

       

      That was an exciting time and it really felt like those bands were all going to blow up in popularity..

      I really just wish their production was slightly better 😭 I love the music but the midi drums and overall mix are too much of a barrier to entry for me.. i'm with rev in that I loved lostworld, and I still really like doremi fa's creative sensibilities.. just please stop the midi drums 😭

    I'm considering making a blogspot for Visual Kei downloads, a-la evil-en-lucifer, because I'm gonna be real, MH is probably gonna die and those 10+ years of hard to find vkei downloads could disappear.

    So I was wondering if any old-school collectors would want to help with my project.

     

    I have a lot of Vkei CDs I inherited from my ex who doesn't like Vkei anymore, so I can start it off, but this is gonna have to be a group project.

      I mean -- to be fair, couldn't a Blogspot die? Like even outside of copyright issues, who's to say any ___.blank.com website host is any safer than MH and won't be gone in a decade. (not to be 2 much of a cynic, I think this is a cool idea :o ).

       

      Like I'm sure many others are, I'm happy to contribute whatever few dozen or so releases I have from that era that aren't on the net.

        - high end psychic reading salons (sub. with CGI astral plane)
        - tokyo sewers (DIV rip-offs only)
        - planetariums
        - bamboo forests

        - wig markets
        - coronavirus hospital wing

     

    VK locations I don’t want to see:

     

        - white rooms
        - defunct garbage recycling facilities
        - CG backgrounds that look like cancelled playstation 4 download-only titles
        - normie night clubs
        - that pool

      Out of curiosity, how'd you do the math? :o I could do something similar by counting all the songs I have under the genre tag "visual kei" and probably like half of the songs i have tagged "emo" or "screamo", as that's the most of 'em, but I'll still miss a lot of other stuff.

    It's funny how at the time of MYV doing the Kvki Boiz stuff, it seemed to have huge mixed reception in the foreign communities. People were shocked by him having like mc hypemen and a DJ.

     

    In hindsight, especially considering what he's done in the last decade, that period was so fucking inspired and unique ..

    Is there a reason Wagakki Band isn't associated with Visual Kei? I just watched one of their really popular videos for the first time and everyone looks the part. Went to look at their wikipedia page (lel), and vk isn't mentioned at all
