Well, since we were talking about post-punk influences… I am certain G-Schmitt had a huge influence on this trope, as they had a few songs with spoken parts. Here is one song, that always reminds me heavily of the dark 90s VK bands:
 
 
The intro of this Gilles de Rais song is also very Deshabillz-esque (and features Lucifer from Gille's Love)
 
 
So I'd say it's been around quite some time, just like counting on German (earliest use by Zi:Kill afaik).
 
 

@Ikna I always wondered why a lot of fans of Japanese goth absolutely despise Vkei and refuse to acknowledge any connection. Like, you can't tell me Madame Edwarda and G-Schmitt did not influence early Vkei

Pretty sure there's plenty others, the early to mid 90s were the best time for VK, lots of great bands as the scene exploded and reached its peak.

Idk if you already listen to them but I'd suggest Gilles de Rais. They've got that good old school sound™ with a harder sort of twist. BECAUSE is straight fire the whole way through 🔥🔥🔥

IDK if this counts but my cat stops sleeping and gets up to leave whenever I sing along to Diru or X Japan (she really hates my attempts at their ballads lol) 

304 Goshitsu Hakushi no Sakura and Akuro no Oka are also pretty easy

And I get that today, vinyl is cool again, but imagine releasing a vinyl in 2002.
As well, ironically, the song isn't one of their jazzier ones but is one of their few metal ones. Either way its fire and I wish rips without crackling existed

aula is a top-notch album, i remember loving it when it came out. scored a cheapo copy on Third Stage back in the day and was super psyched. haven't organically thought about this band in years, but now i'm tempted to give it a spin again.

honestly if you don't like eldorado and at least their album "aula" AND this song you can leave this forum right at this minute
