Himeaimichu got a reaction from seikun in I wonder what ex members of Eldorado are doing today...
For all the members to be that skilled and yet never see the same success they had again is just sad.

Amano from Guruguru Eigakan already fits the bill for "kidz bop singer"

Himeaimichu reacted to Axius in I'm considering making a blogspot for Visual Kei downloads, a-la evil-en-lucifer, bec
@Mamo Lol funny your the first person to mention me in a status update. ☺️
@Himeaimichu I wouldnt mindcontributing to a blogspot. As of now currently getting more limited stuff ready for uploads. If you or anyone wants to shoot me a discord this is me: Axius#7556. I was thinking something that organizes releases by year and artist. I feel as tho a blogspot might be too basic. Maybe a website possibly? Currently going to school for coding. Its kinda frustrating tho still no way near where i have to be. 😅

Oh yeah, I was thinking of getting a discord together to organize things. And yeah it would be cool to do something that archives more than just downloads.
Hypothetically, I always thought it would be cool to also preserve sheet music/guitar tabs for Vkei, but those are literally nonexistent lmao

And it isn't really about the piracy, but more about the preservation of media that would otherwise be lost to time. For popular stuff, there is already Jpopsuki. I'm more talking about the otherwise completely forgotten bands

Any kind of indie visual kei from the beginning of Visual Kei, to around 2010 at the latest. Obviously we couldn't do major label stuff because that'd be asking to be sued.

Himeaimichu got a reaction from saiko in Does anybody knows who is the owner of Speed-Disk? Is it Yukika?
Yukika from Etcetera or some other Yukika? I imagine there is probably more than one dude named Yukika

Himeaimichu got a reaction from Total Saikou in Did Kamaitachi ever release the song "Neurose" on a CD?
So I guess I either have to deal with the crusty tape rip on Chan Macky's channel on YT or hope that someone uploads a rip that I don't have to take from youtube lmao

@Enki You're right lol. The only reason I even use it is because all my friends are on there lol. If it were up to me, all of my friends would use FriendProject (a clone of old myspace with all the old HTML editing)

Himeaimichu got a reaction from Total Saikou in Weirdest / most experimental / avantgarde VK band or release? What do you guys think?
There was that one Guruguru Eigakan song that was literally a Buddhist Sutra turned into a rap song by the end

Himeaimichu got a reaction from KrumpingChihuahua in Is there a reason Wagakki Band isn't associated with Visual Kei? I just watched one o
Their Taiko drummer, Shakuhachi player and guitarist do have Vkei cred. Kurona and Daisuke played together in CrowXClass, which did call themselves Visual Kei. Machiya (I heard he goes by Omura now?) Used to be in some Vkei bands before starting m:a.ture, which Wajow from The Gallo was also in.
I think the main reason they're not considered Visual Kei is just music industry stuff. A lot of Vkei artists are inclined to deny being Vkei because of the image Vkei has.
I would say that unlike other "semi-visual" (as I call them) bands, such as Unlucky Morpheus, Wagakki really tries to just sell itself as mainstream J-Rock. Afaik, they haven't really put anything Metal out in years, and whatever Vkei looks they were serving, they aren't really anymore.

Himeaimichu reacted to carddass in It's really crazy listening to proto-kei bands like G-Schmitt and BOOWY, playing melo
And then there's the great Auto-Mod, who had Tomoyasu Hotei on guitars before he moved on to Boowy. I always considered Auto-Mod/Genet to be the secret grandfather of visual kei. It always felt like Kiyoharu got his early warbly voice in Kuroyume more from Genet than the obvious Robert Smith. The Tribute to Auto-Mod album really drives that home with Kiyoharu's epic Deathtopia cover.
And then there's Libido who I've gotten into recently who was connected with YBO2 and the Transrecord scene of krautrock. Their songs definitely had gothic moments both aurally and visually. One of Libido's early guitarists actually was one of the founding members of G-Schmitt before moving on to other projects.
