I know politics are banned, but since Kanye is running for president, doesn't that kinda make this music-related too now????

Kanon Wakeshima circa 2009, great style for her music. It's a shame she changed directions so abruptly. I think the goth lolita scene still has potential (music wise). Mix the sound with some brand partnerships and you can make some decent dough from the die hard fanbase.

Wtf are they doing? I liked Gerbera and Another Universe sounds good but its hard for me to recognize them as a real band. Right now it just seems like a studio only duo project with Hiroto seemingly being uninvolved at this point. But oh well, if they keep putting out good music then all my confusion is set aside. Just wish I knew what they are trying to go for

He's with this giant agent/management empire called "Endeavor". They own Miss Universe, if you wanna know what I mean by big. He's specifically under the WME umbrella that manages such musical talent as Adele, Camilla Cabello and Tyler the Creator (one of my personal rap favs)! I found him under the Y section just to be sure. X Japan is also under the WME, possibly the only Japanese band with this Hollywood agent company. Sometimes I forget that X was big enough for him to have that kinda dough. I imagine he brute forces his way into these wacky anime cross-overs through such money and connections. Yo, you can even book him under his page! I am not responsible for anyone who wants to abuse that information...

    MERRY (f.k.a メリー)

I've known about Merry for like years but never really thought of diving too deep in their music. They did so many taibans and colbas with MUCC and I kinda just knew they were awesome, have listened to few songs, but that was about it. Until like this year. BUT BOI! Their livestreams got me hyped and so happy and now I literally went from 0 to Core in like few days XD. The izakaya Merry is my favorite one, but also every Yuu/Zaku sama streams are so good! I'm so happy they're like fully in my life now XD.

Very pretty ! I'm tired of their over the top messy compositions so a ballad is a nice change for once. Btw Mahiro's nose... if he likes it that's great and I'm happy for him but I really dislike the way he looks now

They spend more time recording covers and snubbing Hiroto than they do promoting and writing their own music.

    ClearVeil revival in 2021?

I'm not good into making topics. Nozomi ex-guitarist announced a simple picture with the ClearVeil logo and with the year 2021. So maybe a revival?
  11. 1 point
My thoughts exactly. I can understand if Hiroto left Deviloof to get married and have a life, but he should have said so. Instead he pseudo-joined this "band" and other than first few promotional weeks, he's been absent. I'll keep buying their singles off of iTunes, but other than that, what else is there to this "band"?

Yes! On their nico nama livestream they did for MUCC day they showed a promotional video for the album and it was like a 1 minute MV for Self Hate so, the full one should be released too one day 😭

Wait, there is going to be a music video for self hate? Thats cool, it’s one of my favorites

Oh man Super Hero is so good ;A;! I loved every second of it and the live version was such an experience! I hope I will get to hear and see the performances of each song on this album at a future concert (hopefully the situation will be better in the world and I can safely travel to Japan in December <3). Friday the 13th is such a tune for me <3! I love the glissando parts so much, even though Tooru did say this song takes up a lot of energy when playing it heheh. I would love to hear it at a irl concert! Kurage is also another song that I love very much on this album. Tooru's magic worked very well with the lyrics. I love that it has this old school anime ending vibe <3. Kamikaze Over Drive ahhhh, this is such a perfect song for an outdoor live! Satochi's songs always bring me so much energy. I listen to this song a lot when I need some motivation for the day! CRACK was the one that I knew I would love from the first few seconds in the album medley! I like the Miya and Tatsuro duets a lot! It's a great tune that I cannot wait to head bang on! Amelia is already amazing and I never expected to get a remixed version of it, but I don't mind! I love the lyrics of this song, it's very Miya-ish XD. The live version is my favorite sksdjksda I miss the aggressive furis we did on this ;A;. COBALT is a winter song that I find it hard to listen to in the hot summer, but, I still love it so much. I'm glad they included it on a cd album! When I saw them live last year I got this song played at every live I went to and it's a very dear to me song <3. SANDMAN is another beautiful one. The Miya and Tatsuro duet is everything I wanted in life ahhh, so good and the guitar is basically on fire. I love this for me! Memai!! Can we get another COMMUNE happening ;A;?? I need a Hazuki and Tatsuro live performance of this song! I love the "AAAAAA" parts so much ;A:!! The instrumental is beautiful, I can't get enough of this song! DEAD or ALIVE omggggg! Yukke's bass cleansed my soul. I love the first few seconds of the song where the soft piano is playing and Tatsuro's gentle voice comes in <3. I need more Tooru colabs in the future as well. SELF HATE YES!! I got so used with the demo version I forgot there has to be a final version coming in XD. This song is the catchiest from the whole album imo. I love how Miya wrote it in a day when he was hungover and tried to express those hungover feelings in a song as a joke, but it ended up becoming one of the songs that are loved at any live. Also the performance on stage! It's different every time and it makes the experience so much more special. I'm waiting for the full MV ;A;! Alpha is that song that I can totally see with a whole orchestra on stage! It reminds me of Polaris so much, it took me a while to listen to it without sobbing. The violin !!! ;A; Gosjaks I love it! The instrumental and Tatsuro's gentle voice go so well ! My WORLD is another Satochi tune that he wrote for the birthday live last year and, honestly it helped me so much on a personal level. The lyrics are so positive and encouraging with a tint of sadness, but I think it fits very well. It gives me a lot of hope <3. Sei to Shi to Kimi was already my favorite in the Jigenbakudan mini album because I am a sucker for choir. It gives me goosebumps every time. The remixed version sounds a cleaner? It sounds as if Miya wanted to sharpen up a bit the edges of the song and it worked for me. Spica sounds like a winter song to me I- ;A;. I love it so much. It's such a gentle and innocent song. When I listen to it I think of calm winters spent indoors, all wrapped up in blankets and drinking hot cocoa. It calms me down so much, just the instrumental alone gives me so much peace. Tatsuro's voice fits so well with the orchestra and the soft guitar ;A;. The secret track on the album (Terrace) is my favorite!! I wish they would add it on Spotify as well one day, but I was fortunate enough to buy the album and listen to the final version of it. The acoustic/demo version had been circling around for a while, and I got to hear it live for the first time last year at Yukke's bday live and it was such a beautiful yet simple performance! This version sounds so adorable and beautiful. Yukke's songs are usually my favorite ones and this one is added to the list.

@Duwang @sads123 I know for GOATBED I was told I'd have to fill in my name/address/phone number when I got there...but then wasn't asked to lol The government is pushing for that sort of thing but idk I didn't read the details of what cali/deadman are doing since I wasn't going anyway lol I dont mean extra sections to get everyone in, just a chance to get *more* people in, while it still being a lottery. Two lives on the same day would be able to get double the amount in (50% rather than 25%) and the ticket price wouldnt necessarily have to go up that much. If it were me, I'd rather it be a 50% chance than a 25% and I think a lot of people would rather have that higher chance of winning the lottery even if it means the live might be a bit shorter. Plus, even if the ticket price didn't change, there are people who will opt not to go because of COVID-19 or it's simply a day that doesn't work for them, etc. so I think it'd be higher than 50% chance to get in, really... **GOATBED's live with 2 sections in Nagoya and Osaka were both weekdays I'm not sure it matters that much given that 1) many people are furloughed rn and have free time and 2) plenty of people (me included) don't work the monday~friday but have random days off Lol I like to say I wouldn't pay 20,000+ for a live but at the same time but at the same time i've easily spent more than that many times just traveling to go see a band so ehhhhhhh idk

Royz has released a single 奴隷金魚 (doreikinngyo) for 公大 (Kodai)'s Birthday on the 3rd of July, as a Special Music Subscription to all the fans, the single released on apple music, spotify , LINEmusic and youtube : Single cover is by far the most pretty one from Royz imo. 奴隷金魚 (doreikinngyo) can be translated as Slave (奴隷) Goldfish (金魚)

If I had to say my Japanese level it would be "Business Level" considering I work at a Japanese business... + Ao's pretty easy to understand. He enunciates & doesnt have complicated structure but is also quite entertaining so I enjoy listening to him go on about whatever it is he wants to go on about. It wasnt that expensive and I was curious so I set my screen record to record it at the lowest quality setting so that I didnt come back to a 30GB file, went to sleep, and watched in the following days. They covered Tsumetai Ame ("aie said he can play cali gari... I know I was surprised too" - Ao) so it was worth it for that lol The 15,000 yen ticket was buying a champagne bottle for Ao & friends, was it not? HM. I might grab a ticket for the crush of mode one but am undecided on it. Art pop events are always really fun though from past experiences..... Yeah it's fun watching Shuuji dance around. I mean, at least, I think it's fun. He is extremely spry; I dont know how he doesnt fall over when he's doin all that fancy footwork. & he's has got this deadpan sense of humor so even though he is fumbling through the MCs it's actually quite funny imo. "you guys in the stream cant see it but Osaka is w i l d tonight," "thanks for the standing ovation" while we're all sitting in our chairs, politely smiling at him & u-g well fingers crossed that ao'll take a break from shinjuku bar hoppin to write a new bop🤞🤞

n0pe i refuse any responsibility!! that's all you u.u but i mean any streams or anything i'm happy to write any details if i watch them but i dont really know if people really need the tidbits like "ao, which do you prefer guitar or dick?" "WOW THAT'S TOO DIFFICULT. THINK OF MY PUBLIC IMAGE" (aie then asked if he could go home lolll) I love goatbed, but that's no surprise since for my main musical tastes I lean towards new wave/synthpop/piko piko shit, etc thanks to like 10 years of Tokage giving me recommendations. ...but i'm in no rush to complete the goatbed discography or anything. I'm happy to just nod along when the ishiiz play songs i dont know lmao from what i can tell shuuji is a lot more energetic during goatbed though and that's fun to watch👀 I recently filled out my cali gari collection & have 99% of that listing if I'm not mistaken & it looks like what i'm missing is mostly already sold. but thanks! I mean with a picture like that how could I not put bananaman as my icon?? and to be fair, I never said I dont like Grandma Ao!! 😂 Ao cracks me up with all the ridiculous crap that comes out of his mouth. & a lot of the ao vocal tracks are A++ Shinjuku Elekiter is my jam yeah, i expect it to be postponed too but I'm not that invested in it for various reasons including not having a ticket to begin with. Then again, I won the lottery to go see goatbed the other day even though I didn't have a ticket for the original live in April(??) so who knows

Let's be real that whatever X Japan (or Yoshiki) releases from here on out will never live up to any expectations. That sound stayed in the past.

    Artists you wish had alter-egos

As the title suggests, what are some artists you wish had alter-ego groups? As well as that What genre of music would they play? What would their name be? Would members swap instruments? Would it even have all the same members? My first pick would be 'Develop One's Faculties' under the guise of 'Undeveloped Facilities'. They would play a pretty raw and heavy mix of punk/metal, I'd keep the members the same given Yuuya knows how to shout/scream decently and Johannes is one hell of a drummer

Returning to the idol kei topic. Nowadays, when I watch/listen back to ViViD —one of the first VK bands I came across and one that I enjoyed the most— I think I can acknowledge the hints that actually indicate how heavily they were produced to appeal to the crowds in an idol way. So, they surely weren't that pure and artistical about VK and stuff, and of course could have had more than one A-side produced by one or more ghost-writters... But, let's be honest: can we ignore the fact that the arranges of their songs were fucking brilliant, and so were their skills as interpreters? Many, many kudos to Reno's polished approach to shredded guitar, IV's hyper-melodic bass lines, and Shin's VERY well managing of the VK vocal traits —whose exaggeration in some cases ruined great capacities forever, like what happened with Nightmare's Yomi— while at the same time enduring a full show delivering a constant and massive vocal flow. This band was a fucking thrill, although the commercial intention of their project became so blatantly notorious in their last releases that many fans (myself included) lost interest almost inmmediatly. That said, I really wish that nowadays' idol kei bands, even if they put their efforts to make that kind of career into the scene, at least make something commercial in the level of the quality bands like ViViD did back in their time.

What's even more annoying is the fact that "Hunger" has only ever been a live-limited song, outside of the free demo they gave out before they performed live. I guess they're trying to keep that song only for the "true fans."
