I’ve been a fan of Visual Kei for a really long time now, many years, but I have always listened to Jrock anyway I am from Japan, though Japanese is not my first language as I’ve always been bilingual with English and Japanese I am a big fan of X JAPAN, and for X I’d say I idolise Yoshiki and Taiji the most. I also like L’Arc~en~Ciel, I have been their fan ever since I was a child. I have been to various Jrock concerts, though I can’t go to many since I live on an Island in south Japan (Awaji Island) and am unable to travel But some of the Jrock concerts I have been to are: HYDE x5 VAMPS x2 Dir en grey x1 the GazettE x1 L’Arc~en~Ciel x3 Plastic Tree x4 My actual name is Hideko (it sounds like a grandma name so hiko is cooler) You can send me a message whenever you want!

Hi everyone, some of you may already know me but for those that don't, my name is Cinny. I've been into visual kei for almost five years now, I was introduced through Miyavi, but the first band I listened to was SULFURIC ACID. My background is punk, so by nature most of my favorite bands are from the beginnings or proto (Extasy, Free-Will, Anarchist Records). This is my favorite period because I feel like it contained the most soul and creativity, I'm generally not into many modern bands but I still enjoy listening, I like seeing a newer band with innovation because it feels fresh for the scene. I've always felt that I've had a personal relation and connection to Visual Kei since I learned about it and heard some great old school bands for the first time. Making an introduction here is long overdue for me, I hope I can get along well with everyone and have nice talks! These are some bands I like the most, I also love a lot of more obscure music, I can be put into a 90s or Kote fan category. All their songs sound so GOOD! Also i am very impressed how well they manage their release campaign despite the rough times. Many bands have already failed this without the shit that's currently going on... But i just was wondering if (like quite a few bands before who were able to complete such release campaigns) once they released their 12th single if they'll also announce like: here's our first full album with 1 or 2 more extra songs... But even if, i party them so much i wouldn't care and just buy anyways... XD Lastly quite curious once all CDs are released how the "full" artwork of all CDs together will look like? At least i assume their will be some big whole picture.

The single will now release on July 22 and reservations have begun again. However, it looks like if you pre-ordered before and paid via convenience store, you don't need to reserve it again.

So I'm about to leave on a trip and won't have internet, but I just want to say I really appreciate all the recommendations! I'll finish listening to them when I get back. I didn't expect to get so many responses and you all have definitely made me feel a bit more hopeful about finding singers that I like!

I actually really agree with this. But I also don't think there's really a downside to having more skill, which will just expand the tools the singer has to express the music. (How effectively they use those tools is a matter of the musicianship/artistry.) There's also a big element of personal taste. I remember listening so some "indie" playlist on Spotify a few years ago and every single vocalist was using the same style breathy/whiny vocals. I'm sure some people love that style and I can acknowledge that it's an intentional stylistic choice the singers were making that did work with their music, but that doesn't mean I would ever listen to it again. Maybe in very small doses I could appreciate that style, but it very quickly became grating for me. U sounds like a lot of pop punk/emo vocalists to me, but a bit more nasally. I agree it works with the music style, and it's more listenable to me the breathy indie vocals (but that's just my personal opinion).

I can't really stomach fizzy drinks, but every once in a while I'll treat myself to 7-up or a bottle of Ramune if I come across one. Sprite and Mountain Dew are wayyy to sweet imo, I haven't had any in over a decade.

I finally managed to get a copy of JILUKA's Hellraiser with some quick notification from @Komorebi!

This man's cringe-ass behavior is offensive, he really deserves to be cancelled. Jokes aside, I have come to terms with the album never happening years ago. It's best not to give Yoshiki any attention for being a douche, because that's the only thing that keeps him relevant. Also good for Toshi and what's left of the band for throwing in the towel and splitting, if true. It's clear as night and day that Yoshiki doesn't give a fuck about anyone but himself.

The japaneses have a very odd use of music tags and genre calling so i don't expect the song to literally be a speed metal one haha but sounds interesting tho! i'm hyped

If my translation is correct, than the website says that Ray is directing all the vocals on Angel's Cry and that it's their first melodic speed metal song. Well I don't exactly know what melodic speed metal is tbh, but I'm excited now and really hoping this turns out well. The website also says that Keisuke composed Devil's Calling and Daiki composed Angel's Cry, and they're based off of demos they received from a musician they respect.

Sparkling water is the devil's beverage. It hurts my nose without the other carbonated drinks perks. I voted Sprite, but if the poll was about favorite any-colour soda drinks my vote would have gone to Chinotto. It looks like coke but it tastes bittersweet (more bitter or sweet depending of the brand)

When singers have vocal technique, it simply means that they know how to sing correctly; usually, you have to undergo some vocal training in order to acquire that. Singers that have vocal technique can be more or less "skilled", but they should be able to sing in a correct and healthy manner (stuff like support, breathing, pitch, switching between registers, lack of strain etc.)

I wouldn’t rank Ruki among the best vocalists, he has the same vocal tone and range than half of the scene.

Damn, this song is so good. Someone posted the Japanese lyrics on the music video on YouTube so I went ahead and wrote up the romaji and an English translation.
