The staff has seen this topic and have decided to let it stay open. For now. Visual kei has taken inspiration from Nazi-era symbolism time and time again, for better or for worse. To ignore that would be feigning ignorance. We see no harm in simple discussion of the bands and the (very small) scene related to that. We have had similar topics in the past with no repercussions. However, the current era and political climate is a different story. Discussion on this topic may or may not be possible. We will end up locking this topic if it proves to be a breeding ground for incels on the forum.

Maybe Rosenfeld. So badass. But I haven't listened to Harkenkreuz yet I'll probably like I have the biggest soft spot for thrash/speed

Waitwat. You think Rosenfeld is generic? Name one album that sounds anything like Pigs of the Empire, brah. The album is like a mix of Morbid Saint, Hobbs Angel of Death, Infernäl Mäjesty, which is pretty neat as they were all incredibly unique, but with a whole different flavor to it as well which just makes the album sounds even more unique and different. If you don't count the progressive and technical thrash metal bands of the time this is easily one of the least generic thrash metal albums of the 80's and 90's.

Oh wow. That song is really good. A 卍 band I've been listening recently to is marry an blood. They didn't have the aesthetic going on all the time though, and it was mostly the singer who wore the uniform. Also UnsraW had the nazi thing going on with all the members for a while.

Harkenkreuz sounded AMAZING! At least from the 2 live videos i found from them on youtube many, many years ago. Although not sure if there are more bands going by the name "HarkenkreuZ" cuz from what i remember they didn't had any nazi theme going on - at least not in their visuals... Soundwise/from the cover art from their i guess 1 and only CD i've ever seen probably yes... Anyway also had a little conversation with their vocalist on ameba a little bit and he told me that he works as a nurse which was quite interesting to know.

Aw man, that edgy old school speed/thrash stuff, good times. It's a tie between Rommel and Rosenfeld for me. I enjoyed both Pigs of the Empire [Rosenfeld] and ROMMEL a lot, I can't choose!

@Bear Fair enough, I guess they weren't just memorable enough for me... (tho granted, I'm rarely in the mood to listen to these bands to begin with... I usually stick to Western thrash stuff, I feel more of a connection to those groups)

If anyone's looking for pop and rock oldies (or a few more alternative acts) from mainly the '80s or early '90s, the JPOP80SS Blogspot is highly recommended. All the links are still working as far as I've experienced, and most of the uploads are high quality (sometimes lossless too). As for the underground, the website Church of Zer has tons of (international but also Japanese) hardcore, punk and old-school metal of the extreme variety. This one's a bit more tricky when it comes to active links, but I've had luck most of the time. Very high-quality uploads (all lossless iirc), with some cool vinyl and bootleg rips that are not commonly found elsewhere.

People make fun but I actually really do feel the lyrics on tmoab. It’s basically about people saying they’re all fakes and it’s all a show and how that comes from this conformist crabs in the pot attitude where anything different you do is instantly put down and the only option given to you is to fall in line. And I mean it’s not very original subject matter ( except in vk at this time ) but no one else threatened to fuck my parents so A+ for effort. I felt that they returned to this subject matter a bit in the last album where he also goes that ”it’s not for you” but for himself and what he wants and needs to do to make life at least half tolerable

I used a manji sign with the swastika to the left as opposed to the right which the Nazis used, but the question still stands. I personally can't pick between ROSENFELD, MEIN KAMPF and DANGERZONE.

I've never successfully reached "minimalism" but I've read and watched almost all of it. I've been in the purge state for the last few years. I always thought it was my closet that needed reworking but that proved the easiest to minimize. Even before the minimalism trend though I think I started off with a more death cleaning concept (or... suicide cleaning... if you're ok getting dark) and I found a book on that even in the library focusing on old folks not placing a burden on their loved ones after they pass. These days I want to spend more time doing other things than worrying about all my stuff - and I'm worrying about getting rid of it! Like "if I just lost X lbs my life would be better" kind of thinking is what minimalism is to me, and I think because of that I can't complete it. I think it's a lie. Or I don't want to die. Or I don't want to live. Something like that.
