For twitcasting videos, all you have to use is this notation (don't have to use VLC anymore): http://dl01.twitcasting.tv/(id)/download/(number)?dl=1 Video: https://twitcasting.tv/xanvala/movie/605228812 Download: https://dl01.twitcasting.tv/xanvala/download/605228812?dl=1 (in this case it just redirected to "dl02") I'll wait for Serox to upload it, but in the future that's how one would accomplish that.

enola reven is an avant-garde rock/alternative/metal project influenced by Japanese music, especially the visual kei scene. enola reven is based in the US Territory of Guam (a 3 hour flight south of Japan) and is currently a one-man project of vocalist HIMITSU, who does most of the composing, recording, production, and design alone. The debut album 'Disassociation Fugue' is an emotionally expressive journey through the minds of the mentally ill, something Himitsu has personal experience with. The album begins with a haunting ballad which the album was titled after, and moves on into heavier, more aggressive and downright weird songs as well as sweet, soft and sad melodies, separated by atmospheric electronica/noise intermissions reminiscent of a JRPG like Final Fantasy 7. The whole album makes use of silence, gentle fades and minimalism contrasting with abrupt changes, growls and intense heavy noise in an unnerving way. The album in digital format comes with 2 music videos (which you can watch on Youtube) - a simple but beautiful lyric video for the opening track, and a music video for 'Depression', which features scenes filmed in Seattle, Guam and Tokyo as well as a cameo by Japanese handpan (a type of steel drum popular with street performers) player Kashiwa Hang, who composed the intro and outro for the song. You can preview or buy the album, find social media links to follow, watch music videos and find any information about the band on the homepage, www.enolareven.com

Yup! Ogólnie możesz rzucić okiem na mój profil na last.fm, jeśli jesteś ciekawy jakiej muzyki słucham: https://www.last.fm/user/man_of_the_oak Co do grup - poza klasykami pokroju Cocteau Twins uwielbiam m.in. Love Spirals Downwards czy Autumn's Grey Solace. Ogólnie mocno cenię grupy związane z Projekt Records. A z nich chyba najbardziej Lycię ^^

LUNA SEA - MOTHER [Discussion Thread]

Oh, this is a nice change of pace. The experience that is Mother gets much of my praise musically for its incredible arrangements that paint a vivid depiction of Luna Sea's initial career and the era it was birthed in. What's also worth noting is that many songs you think will end up a flop, gradually and surprisingly, get amazingly better as the track progresses. Once you hear that shift in direction after the buildup, you'll understand what I mean, it's something I've rarely experienced. Personally I think the break-periods with calmer songs in-between made the listening experience that much more enjoyable, and even those songs give you that same overall album feeling to keep things vivid. "Genesis of Mind", without a doubt, pulled a fucking David Bowie on my ass, continuing to prove that it is the "long-song"-ers that end up being worth the entire listen, and it's my favorite song on this album, hands-down. "Mother" is one of the best "last songs" I've heard thus far, you wouldn't even think it was last song in that album. By just Mother alone, I'd be convinced that these were some majorly dedicated musicians with so much potential and creativity that was blossoming for its time. If other fans are saying that this is Luna Sea at their best, then that is a pretty fucking convincing argument. This is a pretty high point to be at, I'll admit, it's unreal. I wish I was there in person to witness this album being created in the studio, I like this album that much. Really, I know this saying gets overused but, this is a release that you deserve to listen to if you consider yourself a VK fan. There are a lot of great tracks that make the listen worth it, but the overall achievement I feel having listened to it is my takeaway.

    Which generation are you from?

I'm generation Y and I started to listen vk in the 2000s. Poland always had relatively small fanbase, so most of the bands avoided our country :(. Back then I watched videos on yt, and tried to download albums from bearshare or other softwares (I didn't know about soulseek), but very slow internet was very annoying. Now is so much better

Poland had great music in 60/70 . 80s rock/punk bands are mostly copies of western bands like the cure or the police, but without budget. My father had vinyl collection of many of the bands from 60/70 so I grew up with this music.

Yah it is always a risk to meet musicians you like because it often can lead to big let downs : ( but on the other hand it is always great when people live up to your expectations. Sadly some people in vk who are artistically great but bad at normal life end up having to do weird things to have money and time to be active in the scene too, a case of "dont hate the player, hate the game." comes up often too so : ( like almost all job listings in tokyo that say "any hairstyle is ok." Is a lie and when a local goes to the interview theyll say "oh if you dont have black hair and look normal cant do this job" so it all just breeds and produces more of the bad than good.

I unfortunately have yet to meet a bandomen irl myself but I did talk to this one guy who met Shina at a Noi'X revival live and said he was a cool guy. He didn't even bump into Shina by accident or pay VIP, Shina left from backstage when the CD seller called him down because a big Noi'X fan was there. Shina was very thankful, shook this guy's hand, and said lots of nice sounding stuff in Japanese that went over the dude's head, generally acted very kind. When Shina was onstage, he knelt down to hold hands with members of the audience, including the dude. And after the live was over, Shina gave him the setlist as a keepsake. So yeah, Shina gets some cool points. @Cantavanda told me that enjoyed his meeting with Kamijo, he was nice and enthusiastic to meet Canty and the other fans [IDK if you'd classify Kamjio as problematic because of his history of rampant cultural appropriation tho]. An old pal of mine met Mana-sama when modelling for him and said that he's actually a pretty down to earth guy who was very respectful and kind to the models. A lot of the fanaticism surrounding him is dumb but he apparently is a very respectable fellow worth at least a bit of appreciation.

    Why do you like VK?

Since many users of MH are living under quarintine control since at least a month ago, I thought many of you would have the time to write down here your thoughts in a more elaborated way. So, I wanted to ask anyone here interested: why do you like visual kei? The most common way of aboarding an answer to it should be 'because I like metal/punk/goth/post-punk music, etc.', 'because I like make-up', 'because I like X member'. Say, answering by remarking the presence there of the feature you like. Although this isn't a wrong answer at all, I would like you to elaborate on why you, for example, when looking for metal music that satisfies your ears, would choose this kind of metal music that is VK (among many other features). Say, what means those VK metal or make-up for you, what's its value in contrast with other metal of make-up artists? I know this questions could look odd, considering the majority here moved from that high-school phase of "Oh, you like VK??? Me 2!!1, i thought i was the only weirdo in the freaking world!!!" at least ten years ago. But I was interested into asking it directly because, considering that when we talk here we do it leaving implicit what we like and what not, sometimes I wonder which are some users' interests after reading the post they make periodically. Perhaps there are some folks here who would like to take the chance to speak more words over their love for VK! I'll be reading you!

Great initiative, there's definitely not enough LUNA SEA discussion on the board. This is such a classic that it's difficult to even begin to talk about it. For me this is the epitome of LUNA SEA. A perfect mix of their early rawness and the soft/poppy sound they did from EDEN up until STYLE. Not to mention their timeless classic ROSIER is on this album. It is to me, their best album and probably one of the best visual kei albums ever to be released. Every song on this album is way too good. The ones that stand out a bit from the rest to me are: Genesis of mind, Loveless, In future, Face to face and Rosier.

Funnily enough I recognise Milva, as my parents happened to live in Italy from like '83 till '88 and I grew up with Italian music from that time. Al Bano and Romina Power mostly though :') Polish 80's music is all rather bleak as those were bleak times, so I gravitate more towards the 60's/70's:

yikes less than 300 views in a day lmaaoooo fucking rip yohio I can't believe how this dude can't dedicate himself to any project he starts. He can obviously rip off gazette musically, sing and scream very well and design merch for himself and what have you. And despite all that, he doesn't commit to a consistent release schedule, he doesn't stick with any project he starts ( remember the girl band? remember awoken by silence? remember this oskar he was hyping on his label? actually remember his label in general? or his podcast for that matter ) By the time a nobody vk band like Jigsaw or something has put out release after release while struggling to stay alive in cut-your-hair-or-die no welfare Japan, this dude has only flexed to an ever-dwindling number of people on twitter in an attempt to become a motivational speaker or something. He's accomplished astoundingly little after the second solo album came out and it's been years. He's obviously from a rich family and definitely hasn't worked a day in his life because his malnourished manlet child-body looks like wouldn't survive a day in the cold, so why the fuck can't he get anything done when he has all the time in the world to sit on his ass and play video games? I loved second and third DISREIGN pvs so I'm just blown away how someone can be almost legit for one minute and a total flop for the remaining 59.

ok, i think i grasped the concept more or less but i can't remember any other examples of so-called idol kei bands. maybe it's because i don't pay any attention to such bands? i really couldn't care less about both a9 in their current state and golden bomber. thank you for thorough explanation! and what bands openly don't play their own music? i've heard only smth about arlequin and some other goemon label. been thinking about this some time ago too, i'm concerned about if we have bands who will be able to replace big shots such as gazette, mucc and so on? but i think it's too early to draw conclusions. also i don't agree that there were no classics released after 2013, the same chedoara drew so much attention i don't think it would be forgotten so easily. now the questions 1) if there's no proof i won't say the music was ghostwritten 2) since i didn't knew a thing about idol kei until an hour ago maybe i shouldn't talk too much about it w i find nekkichi's definition very reasonable though, since that's kinda what idol phenomenon is about. 3) idk cause i've only heard about hiring composers for arlequin and some other goemon band. 4) aaand since i've heard about arlequin having ghostwriters i was pretty much salty about them. i wasn't impressed by their music before that either, so i decided just not to fuck with them at all., but then i had to give them a listen during a trade-off and it was a solid song, not the one i would go crazy about but it was okay. and the thing i liked most in it was vocal, and i hope it was the voice of the actual vocalist ww so i'm not too hard on them now, but i'd still prefer that rock bands wrote music themselves. 5) like i said before, i don't like ghostwriting in rock music. for me rock of any kind still means some kind of rebel, and there's no rebel in playing what someone other wrote for you. not all vk bands are rock bands though, so my explanation isn't very accurate, but i hope you get what i mean. 6) i've had a break from vk for a couple of years, and still here i am, so i can say vk means really a lot for me. the reason i've returned to this mess is it resonates with me . like, i think it's pretty obvious what vk can give me what other music can't. i'm speaking not only about the visual aspect, but like have you heard something like lolita23q, nightmare, 9gbo and so on? i know vk is inspired by other genres but the final product is unique. but of course visuals are important too, not because these boys are cute but because people create a certain image, a fantasy, and i love how people are making themselves pieces of living art.
