It's crazy how nowadays you can have a conversation with random people on social media solely using google translate, and you can understand each other nearly perfectly. This part of technology I'm actually pumped about.

道化て鴉 appears to have formed in August of 2019, and are from the Kyuushuu area of Japan. They just released their first music video "怖い譚" (Kowai Hanashi) a couple of days ago: Twitter Vocals: Takuya (twitter) Guitar: Rito (twitter) Bass: Raike (twitter) Support drums: Daru They will be playing at the Kyushu event "S.T.G PRESENTS 神世界創造 -白昼夢-" on October 15th, at Fukuoka INSA, along side Kizu, Lucifer, and Chicktak (The MV kind of sounds like 9goats, no?)

    Single People Thread

Fuck, I don't know what's wrong with me but being single is really getting me down lately. It seems like no matter what I try literally no one is interested in me. Doesn't matter if it's meeting strangers in public, dating apps, or trying to get closer to friends who are potential interests. Keeping myself busy with personal projects and events has helped but it's not enough of a distraction. Is there a pill I can drink that just drains my emotions out within 24 hours and allows me to go about my life normally? Cuz fuuuck.

I've always been fan of Diru's lenghty tracks. And that includes Mazohyst of Decadence which everyone here seems to dislike. So yeah, I am so ready for The World of Mercy. And the teaser sounds dayum so far.

Yeah, when I saw them last year he was really struggling with those high screeches but otherwise good performance so no real compaints from me. But tbh, I wouldn't expect someone to be able to pull those off flawlessly every time. lol. But from what I can tell from their latest releases that Sho is stepping away a bit from all the grunting and screeching and focusing a lot more on actual singing so maybe he's already aware he's fucking his voice up so is trying to calm it down a bit. + On the topic of him being a Kyo clone, I don't really agree that he's a clone at all. Only thing that's really similar is he goes for the same kind of range, mixing up the gutturals, screams and clean singing, but that could be said for a lot of V Kei vocalists surely? Doesn't make them a clone of Kyo for using different vocal styles, I welcome it in fact, a vocalist who doesn't have any variation can be pretty monotonous and tiresome to listen to.

    ASMR

So I noticed there wasn't a thread for this yet and I thought, "I can't be the only person that listens to ASMR". I doubt there's anyone that doesn't know what this is anymore, but in case there's someone out there that has never heard of ASMR, it stands for "Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response", or basically a tingly sensation you get in response to audio or visual stimulation. I started watching ASMR videos around 2015 when they were still relatively new and there weren't a ton of youtubers doing it. But now there's a huge influx of ASMR artists and all kinds of categories. It seems like a lot of early ASMR-tists focused a lot on role plays like "a day at the spa" or "visiting a doctor", but nowadays I've seen a lot more channels of people just experimenting with sounds. Here's a list of some of my favorites: 【希乃】のんちゃんねる Latte Puffin I've seen a lot of people dismiss ASMR as some weird fetish or creepy interest, but a lot of the appeal for me IS in the fact that it's relaxing, good for falling asleep to, and seeing people do some pretty creative things. What are some of your favorite ASMR-tists and triggers?

Why is it that whenever I make an appointment with my doctor, the symptoms of whatever it is I have start to clear up right before I see them? It makes me feel like I'm wasting their time. Oh, well. Better to be safe than sorry, I guess.

Artists like that exist, but they don't get nearly enough exposure. So-called African Americans are the most glaring example of a collectively dysfunctional people, and unfortunately, everyone is profitting and benefitting from our dysfunction but us. There are deeper reasons for this that I won't get into atm, but rest assured, everyone from the local beauty supply shop all the way up to Capitol Hill are reaping the spoils of pillaging a ruined people and further enabling their continued dysfunction. So it's no marvel that the artists most heavily promoted to this group of people are avatars of dysfunction themselves.

ベティ(Betty), who used to be signed to the infamous Rockstar Records label, is holding a revival show in September 30th at Urawa Narciss. It's a bit hard to tell, but it looks like they're calling themselves "Ugly Betty's Paranoia." Either that, or that's just part of the name of the show and they're running with it on Twitter.

Ok sure some rap can be awful and I agree, but still, a bunch of shitty rappers doesn't generalize the whole genre of hip hop Same thing goes with pop music, one or many artists don’t generalize the rest

Ok but like I said, a lot of popular music isn’t bad. Sure, you can dislike it and I do have a few qualms with it, but many people enjoy it myself included. Lorde was popular back in 2013 with Pure Heroine and her hit royals and that was a masterpiece. I don’t understand why being popular suddenly means it’s bad. Sure it may be more by the numbers in some cases but many artists are trying new things and many sound different from others. Ex: Lady Gaga or Taylor Swift (who I consider myself a fan for many reasons)

I was so happy when Nicki Minaj announced that she was retiring. Also, why has a bbw who thinks she can rap, plays the flute and whose ass and twerking is her claim to fame is the new hero and voice of the generation for young black women? I'm sorry, but where the fuck is the next Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner or Lauryn Hill?

Really like the snippet of the 1st album, sounds like they have finally managed to refine their sound and got it together. I actually saw them live last time I was in Japan and really enjoyed their set but haven't been able to enjoy any of the recordings I've heard from the singles so far so am a little skeptical on this 0th album as it seems to be a collection of all that basically. But may get it anyway as a curiosity purchase. haha. Is just a shame the snippets of each song for both albums are so short...

I share your view, and perhaps am a little more militant with it. Allow me to explain... I almost always dislike the way people act when they're under the influence. They aren't being their natural selves because substances alter their most natural state of mind and body. You cannot truly connect with someone's heart when they are under the influence. There's also the fact that often times, alcohol and various drugs will destroy people from the inside. The severity varies of course, but I've known people with rotted teeth, destroyed skin, damaged hair, rotting fingernails, bad breath and a general stink caused by their substance abuse. This is just the external effects as well, nevermind the rotting of the brain and various organs. Heroin, meth, cocaine, alcohol, tobacco...it doesn't matter. It all has the same general effect in the end and I've spent my life watching my own parents rot away due to their addictions. Human strength is cultivated by our eternal struggles. We can only grow through self discipline, knowledge and willpower. I believe any problem can be worked through this way. I say this from the perspective of someone with severe depression, anxiety and agoraphobia. Sometimes things can be very difficult for me. But I've always managed to push through because I try to be disciplined. It is not as easy as sitting down with a needle or a bottle and forgetting about whatever my hardship is at that time. But in the end, I feel better off, and I learn how to deal with things for the future. So I don't believe that people need it to get through the ups and downs of life, as they won't truly resolve anything through substance abuse. To me, this is what makes a person weak. I have also known many people who say they cannot truly live without their vices. "I only like music when I'm high", "I'm only creative when I'm high", "I'm only social when I drink" etc. I think when someone reaches this stage, they've lost the ability to truly connect with things and accept/appreciate them as they are, most importantly themselves. If instead of working to heal their mental condition and to enjoy things simply, and instead lives a life where they are controlled by vices, they are living dishonestly and dishonorably. So I cannot respect them.

I can't but think of the people here going through an album's production with a fucking tape measure and a try square looking for some hot takes as utterly ridiculous dilettantes who are on a quest to rate and evaluate everything they come across from dogs to cats to hotdogs and shoehorning them into some system of cosmically applying universal worth, like a senile bookie trying to get one over the plebs of the board that has rigged the game so many times to his own favor that he has come to believe that's how it's supposed to be played. Unsurprisingly this takes place mostly on the threads related to Dir en grey in one way or another, and I hope that one day whoever supplies the audio equipment to these people decides to send them boxes of tapes containing different bass frequencies and one note sounds recorded with different studio presets, so that they can spend the rest of their lives busy with their ear pressed against the speaker being fully content about that crystal clear HQ sound, because god forbid we'd have to see these people writing about music again when they could be spending their parents money on audio jacks and Pepsi instead. Some of the best releases in rock music history sound like they were recorded with an Xbox 360 headset so fuck off already with this shit and go watch the past seasons of american idol on VCR and pretend to be Simon like you really want to. Considering what vk has been doing from X's look to Kiyoharu's simulated hanging on stage to today, I don't think the word edgy has a place in the conversation with any other role than as a praise full of positive connotations only. While some people sure are eager to please and orientate themselves towards the lamestream taste with their hands and knees begging for their family to listen to their shitty japanese music at family gatherings and hand out positive affirmations, the rest ought to know that the only thing that really matters to any autonomous subject is the sincerity of their self-expression and the intellectual integrity that's solely their own. The general impulse of the public is to take the edges out of everything and grind them down into submission and guilt over being "lame" and "embarrassing," so hopefully instead of edgy music the people here can find things with the coarse edges done polished down so smooth that they'll trip and fall on their heads, becoming completely paralysed and unable to use their hands to write anything as stupid as they are in the future.
