Finally managed to wash an awful amount of dishes that had just been piling up for days and days. I didn't even know I had so many plates and forks and whatnots... Ahh I wish I had a dishwasher. Or maybe some kind of a servant. Maybe I could hire some cute vkei boy to do the job? -

Honest opinions on K POP?

There's no originality in it. It's just American pop music made 2 years after the fact, and sung by 8 guys with pink bowl cuts. It's an imitation of soulless music. -

Is YOHIO and DISREIGN really bad people?
Fyrnia4Maya and one other reacted to astra☆ for a post in a topic
Necroing the thread, but it seems I'm the only one with a first hand account on him and maybe this can put OP's mind at ease if they're still concerned. I used to speak to Yohio regularly when I was 16 and he was 13. He was incredibly nice then. Maybe him being interested sex is true, he was quite flirty when I spoke with him but in a sweet way, not creepy. He was also very serious about his music and a skilled guitarist, especially for that age, and practiced vk back then too. So I don't believe rumors that he uses vk as a way to get laid. Of course, we were both kids and people can change. But if someone told me he used vk as a means to get easy sex from fangirls, I wouldn't believe it. -

MALICE MIZER
Arkady and one other reacted to astra☆ for a post in a topic
I felt based on Deep Sanctuary, Kamijo was a really great fit for them. I think it's because I hear elements of the three original vocalists in his voice; Klaha's 'smoothness', Gackt's general tone and slight nasality, Tetsu's power and vibrato. If they ever get back together in an official sense, I'd really like to have him on the records. Though, I thought all three did well, so I wouldn't be disappointed about any of them. In a general sense, I find it a little strange that despite their immense popularity, there haven't been a lot of other acts that have tried to recreate a similar sound of any of their eras (at least, that I know of). They've got a sound that is uniquely Malice Mizer. On one hand, I think it's great they're still so prolific, on the other, I'm sad we haven't had more music like it. -

I can relate to this so much. The office is generally harmonious but one woman feels the need to talk incessantly, overshare, one-up everyone, and generally annoy the crap out of me. I found out recently a colleague feels the same way yet we're not the confrontational type. Thank god for headphones; I don't want to listen to what underwear she has at home, how big her partners piece is, how amazing yet annoying her kids are, or about her annoying her mom is. Ugh. -

ANIME TRASH TALK THREAD
YuyoDrift and one other reacted to hopefully_benign for a post in a topic
I hear you. There's an argument to be made there was always an assembly line attitude in the medium, there was always an adherence to or at least consciousness of trends and conventions... It's not like "moe" was invented in the 2000s or 2010s (Project A-ko anyone?). But the conventions were just handled so much better back then. Titles like "Is it Wrong to Pick Up Slime Girls in a Forklift Simulator?" or whatever just tell me they're not even trying anymore. -

In one part they say that the idea for kidoairaku started when they decided to do the O-west live. They decided on the name to keep it simple and so they didn't need to think about it. So they're not chedoara b-sides (idk if we already knew this but I didn't) -

1 pointThe Boys - This is, hands down, one of the coolest series I've ever seen, and one of the best superhero movies/series in a long, long, long time. Yes, I know it's based off a classic comic but I haven't read it yet. I own the first issue, but want more before before starting. Anyway, this was fun, violent, silly, over the top and just awesome throughout. Hell ye! Give me season 2 already! Swamp Thing season 1 is up next. Shame about the cancellation. And I say that even before having watched it.

1 pointThe members of this band look emotionless. When you see older Visual Kei bands all members had a presence. Musically this bands has potential but I feel their musical composition lacks some depth or versatility. And the vocal needs to widen his range, I mean he always sings in the same tone (screamy); he never seems to sing lower, whisper, etc.

Jigsaw9 reacted to Karma’s Hat for a post in a topic
Exactly the same feeling from when I saw them live. I left during the last or second last song iirc to skip the crowds. I fucking can't with the lyrics from this album tho lmao "Herostrates for the modern day High on good conscience A noblest of sufferers On disinformation highway" "And the last of misbelievers Will be trampled in the greatest of marches Toward the radiant future Where sheep are promised fangs And only after the graves are filled With remains of dissidents And the frame of reference is torched Together with forbidden thoughts" "And the assassins in rose tinted glasses At the wrong end of the tunnel of light Practitioners of paramount scorn And those who'd rig moral compass rather than bridges" I can't believe that in 2019 we have black metal complaining about liberals on the internet. Embarrassing. -

Oh f**k. I read that too—it was on Reddit iirc—and well... the toxicity of that person is superior to that of cyanide. The “I see dead people” bit was just the tip of the shitberg. Treating the OP like that... yeeesh. @psychonnect_rozen I believe this is a shining example of the toxicity I mentioned earlier btw. -
1 pointI need to re-spin the Mgła album because besides the last track which is a masterpiece, the rest of the album was kinda meh. The drumming is fantastic tho. I preferred the Kriegsmaschine album from last year, and oh boy those drums. Their new album is fucking brutal! And I was skeptical about it because almost 50 minutes of sheer brutality doesn't usually do it for me but man, I kept enjoying it until I realized it was over. Vitriol are fantastic too, can't wait to check out their new record! Such talented lads. In other news, yesterday I saw Dopethrone live and it was crazy as hell. What a gig! Also they had two local bands who opened for them, "Seethr" a black metal band from Antwerp and "Big Fat Lukum" (Sludge/Stoner) from Namur. Leaving some links here in case any of you are curious about them: https://seethr.bandcamp.com/ https://bigfatlukum.bandcamp.com

1 pointI echo your sentiment. Suicide Ali were very promising and one of my favorite 'darker' groups. If I had to speculate, one theory is that they were unsatisfied with their music. They kept remaking their own songs, which feels to me like they had ideas for these songs that they were having a hard time bringing to life. This can be really discouraging. They were also signed to Starwave/DL. I know GPK and Spectrum-X stopped activity because they hated working with Kiwamu so much. Perhaps Suicide Ali were a victim of this as well. I wouldn't doubt this, especially since there were no official statements from the members. Or, as you said, they may have just wanted to fade away...I do find it strange we haven't heard anything from any of the members since.

1 pointThe office I work in is noisy af. People who talk non stop coz they're afraid of silence. Anyway, I put up with it. Then this guy right next to me has been whistling and humming all week (non stop) and that's just too fucking far. Those actions are objectively annoying. I finally ask him to stop and he just tells me to put head phones on and turn the music louder. I've been in a murderous mood all day 🙂 why can't people be more mindful of their fucking surroundings.

1 pointHaven't checked out the new Mgła album yet (will do it this weekend!), but just saw them live two days ago at the start of their tour. They were pretty good as usual, tho the sound of the venue could've been a bit better. They played for about an hour and, truth be told, I got a bit tired by the end... and I dunno if it was just the song selection or what, but I've never noticed before how damn similar/samey their song structures are, lol. Was kinda comical after a while. In any case, it was an enjoyable show. In other news, I'm just spinning the latest Devourment album (Obscene Majesty) for the first time, and maaaan this production is absolutely filthy! Like, ridiculously dense and heavy. It sure gives a whole new dimension to the brutality. The actual music is cool too, tho I'll have to listen to this one more so that everything clicks. Staying on the death-metal front, Cattle Decapitation just dropped the first official track from their upcoming album "Death Atlas" (release date November 29) and as I expected it's typically them. Props to Travis yet again, he continues to remain my favorite extreme metal vocalist. His voice from 2:20 onwards = dat's the shit I like! Can't wait for the full-length, I bet it'll be just as amazing as their last two. Speaking of amazing, I randomly searched for this US death metal band Vitriol because I noticed they'll be opening at Nile and Hate Eternal's gig next Friday and oh boy... this is gonna be gooooood. Also, lucky me, their debut album drops tomorrow, heh. Check this and watch out for the flesh-melting guitar solo:
