the internet needs to stop with the romanticizing of clinginess and possessiveness in relationships. it leads to so many abusive relationships yet people think it's normal so they stay, but these ideas that "my partner is my happiness, my world, my other half, etc" are so incredibly dehumanizing and WRONG and often end up in codependency. why aren't we teaching people to learn independence and at least some sense of self-worth and their own source of happiness before deciding to get into a relationship? why are we taught that we'll get those from our partners, rather than being two whole people coming to share their lives?

I think I can relate to you here. I'm pretty blunt and assertive to pretty much everyone. Not harsh, just... forthright. Not everyone likes that, but as you said, you can't beat around the bush in these situations. It makes me sad how passive a lot of other people are because I always worry that they're not going to be able to stand up for themselves when they really need to. What makes me even sadder is that I learnt the hard way that I can't do it for them, or else they'll just end up depending on me and regressing even further into this state of being someone else's person. I just wonder where it all came from, and why some people are more resilient than others. Honestly, I should probably be dead by now given all the shite that's been flung my way, but for some reason I'm not and I guess that's why I felt that I had to stick up for everyone until I realised I couldn't. Everyone else thought I could, so I thought I should. I wonder if not being able to deal with that makes me stronger or weaker? Sorry, think I went on a bit of a tangent there. 😕

I laugh at this because I've heard this many times, from many perspectives. When someone tells me that I should "do what makes me happy", when the topic really needs involvement from those in the conversation, I rarely take this one-liner as sincere advice. I know that what they really mean is either "you're not gonna listen to what I say, so do whatever the fuck you want (but don't come bitching about this again later)" or "this is (probably) not a good idea/solution/process overall, but I'm not your keeper so you do you". Personally it's something I would not beat around the bush with, and just say straight to their face because well, it's reality (and everyone's living in it). I'm also a cynical person, so take this with a grain of salt too. I see the people in this current world as nothing but shadows to someone else's life, and they secretly don't want to identify someones frustration/misery to their own (also maybe because they're living through someone else's idea of happiness and reality will fuck with that). I'd also venture to say that people are desperate for happiness, and usually I feel that this desperation stems from a mistake/poor choice in their lives (possibly by their doing), where now they don't care where that happiness comes from but they'll take it. Sometimes it's not even their happiness they're indulging in, and in a fucked up way, that's people who say things like "I'm happy if you're happy" or "My happiness is your happiness". Not bashing on those people, but "happiness" is "achieved" in one form or another, and this direction is definitely not enough for me.

I don't have money to buy something like this today, but even if I watch it on YT I wouldn't hasitate to buy it if later on if I can afford it. Most of my generation grew up downloading from the net and, once you got a job you purchased that same material.

So, be a slave to predatory practices, just go support a band who have absolutely no excuse for not releasing anything besides not being able to find a singer who can handle Mana's ego and are in no way hurting for money as M10M consistently make a mint and Közi has 4 projects including a solo project going on. The only person who could use the money is probably Yu~ki, but I doubt it. This is just predatory pricing to capitalize on starved fans who will buy anything they put out and Mana knows that. When you price something this ridiculously, and it just be a single disc, blu-ray or not you're essentially making an idiot tax to see how stupid and guilbile your fan base nearly 20 years after your last release. Over $150 for a single disc release is beyond ridiculous, but people will eat it up and they'll just release the next thing with as little cotent as possible. It's called minimum viable product as in, what the minimum effort someone is willing to put into a product for the maximum profit. If you price something this high, expect it to be pirated by those outside of Japan. This shit is the equivalent of virtue signaling in politics. You're no greater or better or more devout a fan just because you paid double what something is worth or everyone who buys shit on yahoo auctions or mercari would be the biggest and best fans in the world. Speak with your wallet as pandering to a band and just accepting whatever they're feeding you sends the wrong message and they'll be confused when their sales for the next one are flat if they even think about charging $200 for say, 2 discs and a photo book. The holier than thou anti-piracy sector of VK is always something to behold. I'm a fucking huge DÄLLE stan, and I support the hell out of them, but if I can find stuff online, I'll download it and that saves me money and I can use that money immediately or later down the line to buy something I can't find from them or merch other than music. Supply and demand, you should buy what you want, not buy what you don't, and asking kind souls for something you don't have the money for doesn't make you a bad person, just like you paying for something doesn't make you better than those who can't or won't buy it and would rather wait for it to be available online. If someone thinks it's worth it and they have the expandable income, then good for them, whatever floats your boat, buy it, buy five, but don't shit on people who either don't have the money or think that it's NOT worth the perceived value that the band and some fans think it is. 😊

There's no easy answer for that, and I for sure don't have it all figured out. I've seen that same reality myself where there are people with a stronger willpower (these are people that can say no to drugs, go cold-turkey on a drug addiction and recover, bounce back into life after a break-up/ending a relationship, etc.) and can easily develop/or already have that formula that will allow them to organize their thoughts and not have them spill over when contemplating their life choices/decisions. At times I can do that, and I thank the years I spent in solitude growing up for this, but sometimes there are new scenarios that I can't deal with, and I realize my limitations. You mention trying to help others due to this, and from my point of view, do you think it's because we are trying to understand why people aren't like us? I know I have, and I also know then and there whether or not I can/should help them, and I'll tell them this. Most times its not what they want to hear, and I think it has more to do with never actually being told that that surprises them and leads to the confusion and anger, breaking that false reality of "friends" and "help". It ties in with my perception of the "safe spaces" and "ted/free talks" of today, and idk.......I just get paranoid about what people will be like in 100 years. @Zeus' thoughts on how there are/will no longer be individual geniuses in society (from his reasons) gave me the food for these thoughts too. Perhaps I'm thinking too much in the long term idk, but if we plateau in the near future, I'll know exactly why.

Well, my parents live in the countryside and there's always been infants in the house so for them a cat is an outside pet due to hygiene and safety. My cats were always born and raised outside, they just can't be forcefully kept inside and they live in an area were there's not many other cats to run into, really. PS: same reason to keep dogs outside.

I just think it looks really ugly. They're small and boring, and I don't keep my CDs in plastic as I see no need for it, so they would just fall off. They're just not for me, but I don't buy CDs (with a few exceptions, and they're CDs without obi anyway) so it's not a problem anymore. Vinyls however I do keep in plastic and the big, beautiful obi's just sit there beautifully and does their job perfectly. Which is to be fat and sexy-looking.

If you were really guilty, then you shouldn't have uploaded the Blu-ray in the first place. This fandom reeks of entitlement due to so many people thinking they're owed a live recording simply because it is"at such a disgustingly high price". And it's not just this one release I'm talking about. Well guess what? It's a Blu-ray so of course it's gonna be more costly than a DVD. There are many reasons that can justify the price of this release. First, this is their first release in nearly 18 years (I'm not including anything released by Nippon after their hiatus). Second, if anyone knows Mana, then you should know that he's not a cheap date. Thirdly, if you truly love the band, then you wouldn't be complaining about prices; you'd be supporting them. I understand not everyone is able to do this, but you also wouldn't be whining to get the full live uploaded either. You should've saved up for it then. Finally being able to buy a new item from MALICE MIZER was an exciting experience. All I could buy before was old and used. There were some items still in the original packaging, but there wasn't really a sense of pride in buying something that hit the market nearly twenty years ago. If you love a band, please out of respect, buy things from said favorite band. Do it so that they can create more things for you to enjoy.

While I agree completely @Disposable, some people are more of a hassle/could stir trouble for others/society if they didn't own a pet. Hard to elaborate, but some people are so irresponsible with something like another life, that I'd rather (sorry guys) hear about an animal passing away from neglect/abuse/undernourishment than say, a baby or another adult. You hear about animals being fat, or out of shape, and if it can be noted, you see that same ignorance affect their children (and themselves). On the upside, that's kinda why parents get animals for their kids, so they learn to bond and understand the value of taking care of someone else, and then the experiences that come when that animal passes away (naturally or otherwise). Kinda of like prepping you for life in small doses.

I think on CDs, they're just okay. They can be hit or miss for me depending on the "type" of obi it is. And by that I mean, I've seen a few common types used. 1. Solid strip of color with some text 2. Have just the album name and band logo on the front. 3. Be an extension of the booklet artwork. It's nice when they're more fleshed out and have more info about release, add to the aesthetic of the overall package, or include easter eggs or photos like @Jigsaw9mentioned. But, either a) extra content is rarely included, or b) they're more often than not, boring. Here's an example of what I'm talking about (Please excuse the old and terrible photo): 2 out of the 4 CDs here that have OBIs are just a plain black strip with minimal text, and 1 is just an extension of artwork. The one on the bottom right I think is actually interesting to look at and it also has more information about the CD beyond just the band name and title. @Kaya-Rose-Addict & @Bear bring up a great point about obis on vinyl, which I also love. The medium allows for bigger OBIs, so I've seen some pretty cool stuff being done. These are a few of my favorite OBIs on vinyl releases (the first two are obis that slide onto the sleeve and stay on)
