Here I am with another piece of information only I can be bothered with contribute with probably. Ex-EVE Takeru (and now CLACK inc.) has two twin brothers (named Yuu and Kaname) who are also vocalists. They're currently a pop-rock duo called TWiN PARADOX, but they've been in several indie rock bands in the Osaka scene, such as 80/TRACK, which had a techno/dance/rock sound and somewhat a vk-ish aesthetic. They opened for EVE a couple times, even though they of course used to deny their relationship (not fooling anyone most likely since they look like a triplet almost lol) Here's the three brothers back in the EVE/80/TRACK DAYS: And them in their most recent picture:

    #119: QEDDESHET - COCYTUS

TRAGEDY OF AVALON is a good, solid track, nothing cringe-y, nothing trashy, just a good extreme metal track. I wish I could say the rest about this mini, but the rest is, well... SHET (ba-dum *tss*). The music videos for COLLAPSE and COCYTUS are so fucking terrible, the songs themselves have been rendered unlistenable. To be fair though, COLLAPSE would be much better if instead of those horrible vocals they'd just stick with your average typical black metal screeches. I'm convinced that COLLAPSE has no lyrics and the vocal track is just a microphone test (what the fuckity-fuck was he doing at 1:24? LMAO). Whoever directed those videos should be legally prohibited from owning any type of camera. CALL MY NAME was decent until the chorus. REVELATION started off bland and got worse in the middle with the fucking annoying pig squeal. Whenever I hear the pig squeals or gurgling, I wanna shove an ice pick in my brain

Two thoughts: I hate the fact that it took me two career paths to finally end up on web development b/c I really enjoy it. While I have to be in a constant state of learning (everything is a matryoshka doll of languages, libraries, and frameworks), it's really fun getting things to work. It also taps into a creative side that was largely untouched w/ what I was doing previously (Spatial analysis in ArcMap can be kinda fun, tho. I'll give it that.) (Also, I can turn my Adobe CC repertoire into something career-relevant.) I'm messing around w/ an Nginx server and a Node.js one atm. I'll have to hit up the books/vids on Docker when I'm comfortable enough w/ Linux & Git. After getting my Vita to ENSO 3.60 and setting up the necessary plugins & .vpks, it's switched from glorified dust collector to one of my most used devices. It's an emulation machine w/ RetroArch and Adrenaline. Additionally, I can remote play w/ my PS3 (w/ Rebug CFW), PS4, and Steam (+ CEMU, Dolphin, and Citra) w/ Moonlight. Shit's cool.

oh this reminds me of how i was watching some gazette live with my friend who listens to vkei too (mostly 90s stuff) and we were like wtf ruki sounds so clean and hits every note and it's so close to the recording what's wrong with the guy lol i don't remember which song we were listening to and this one doesn't seem to be something outstanding technically, but still it sounds very decent. i also wish i could post emmuree's silence from xxx.paint it black, but its quality on youtube is crappy so let it be inori. sou's great live. and since i'm #teamklaha here we go also yomi has deep, powerful voice but he misses the notes every now and then. this one's pretty good tho and speaking of fainting on stage, i remember the same thing happened to gara but he couldn't finish the song, i was shocked to see something like that tbh. i don't remember which song or what dvd it was unfortunately.

    #119: QEDDESHET - COCYTUS

    | When the sum of the parts is worth more than the whole Indie death metal/black metal outfit QEDDESHET crawled out of the most decrepit orifice imaginable sporting what would become their trademark sound in 2018, and instantly caught my attention for the vocalist's lackluster lip syncing and emotionless expressions in their "COLLAPSE" music video. Visual kei dabbles in many genres, but black metal and death metal are two of the most uncommon ones, and tend to be mixed with other, more easily accessible genres. QEDDESHET is having none of that, and refuse to adopt the quintessential visual kei sound despite nailing the visual aspect. In that regard, I'd classify this band along with the likes of Deviloof as a new tier of band pushing the extreme metal sound into a more brutal arena than ever before. I thought that I would love COCYTUS, or at least find it tolerable given my description, but I don't. It's a draining experience for a mini album that barely scratches a half hour. COCYTUS only ever moves at the speed of a blast beat, and the vocalist only has deep growls and deeper growls, so each song retains the same exact oppressive atmosphere. No matter how technically impressive playing all the goddamn notes in the universe at the speed of light is, it gets old when that's all there is. "CALL MY NAME", the second and oldest track on the mini album, is a perfect example of how QEDDESHET gets it right and wrong at the same time. It's much more textured than previewing the other four tracks would prime you to expect, but the transition to the poppy chorus takes all the wind out of its sails. The vocalist's reluctance to raise his voice any higher than a throaty mid range roar is at odds most when the chorus hits, and the result is awkward. The band is not on the same page during these rare moments. A lot of pain points can be easily solved if the vocalist adds mumbling, screeching, singing, and/or mid range guttural rapping to his toolkit. Literally anything to spice up the endless variations of garbage disposal gutturals would go a long way. My review reads like I have a gigantic hate boner for this quartet, but COCYTUS is not a trash release. I try to reserve descriptions of "trash" for things that truly are bottom of the barrel, like idiot or I.T.G. QEDDESHET is bringing more metal sensibilities to the scene, and ultimately more influences is what keeps visual kei fresh. Not many other bands sport this sound, so there's an opportunity for them to carve out a niche. The vocalist is absolutely insane with some of the noises that he can do and is easily one of the best harsh vocalists the scene has ever seen. The rest of the musicians, especially the guitarists, can string some really mean riffs and beats together, although again I feel like there's a bit too much emphasis on speed and technicality over creating memorable melodies. I'm also digging the amorphous, avant garde structure of a lot of these songs, because passages and refrains rarely repeat. I would like to see what they are capable of with a slower pace and heavier riffs. COCYTUS is an acquired taste and it's not for everyone, and that is okay. It's not for me. It's a legit recommendation for those into the most extremes of metal, but that's about it.

A man with a really pleasant Scottish accent told me I looked very pretty. Also, I was just thinking about on Wednesday when I was talking to a guy I've known for about fourteen years (we didn't speak for a while in the middle of that because we went to different high schools, but we've been at the same college for a year and a half now) and his two friends, I couldn't help but remember how refreshing it was. Not just because they're really nice, fun people, but also because I still get sad about when I fell out with some of my closest friends in July last year. I don't like them, but I still get upset about it because I feel like I've missed out on a lot. Thinking about those three guys I was chatting with and how nice it felt to be around them, it's made me actually value the fact that I lost the bad people in my life because I now hold the good people even dearer to me than I would have before. Being an optimist in general, I tend to see a silver lining on every cloud anyways, but this just seemed really meaningful. That would probably sound trite and twee to a lot of people, but it means a lot to me.

    Last movie you saw.

I watched S. Craig Zahler's (Bone Tomahawk, Brawl in Cell Block 99) new flick Dragged Across Concrete the other day, and it was bloody fantastic with both Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn giving some of their best performances ever. It's really fucking mean, grim, nasty, dirty, gritty and intense. It's more of a slow-burning neo-noir drama movie than a high-speed neo-noir thriller movie, and it works. Brilliantly directed, acted, shot and written. Superb dialogue! Is S. Craig Zahler the most promising new director out there? Fucking yes! Bone Tomahawk - 10/10 Brawl in Cell Block 99 - 9/10 Dragged Across Concrete - 9/10 He's looking more and more like a modern Tarantino in that he seem to love to cast against type, writes dialogue that is bold as fuck and will put a lot of people off, makes slow movies, shows incredible violence and just does whatever the fuck he wants and makes movies for himself. He was asked to cut Dragged Across Concrete for cinemas to have a widespread release, but he told them to fuck off and only got a few screenings on a few selected cinemas. That's the shit I love!

I've posted some of these videos elsewhere, but I absolutely just love these live performances, so here they are again ^^; BUCK-TICK - Dress - I picked two videos at different stages during the band's career. Atsushi just sounds great no matter when, lol. vistlip - Sindra - Tomo hits some really great high notes in this live just like he does in the recording, and it sounds amazing. Galeyd - D.Z.I - Some argue about the quality of Garo's voice in this band, but I enjoyed how he sounded (for the most part) like the recording. I tried to find other songs, but this was the only one available ^^; the Gazette - Taion - He doesn't sound exactly like the recording in this particular performance, but the screams Ruki makes here sends shivers down my spine. If you know the background and the lyrics to this disturbingly sad and dark song, then it makes sense why he does it.
