For some reason I'm really attracted to stylish/stylized covers featuring only band members so here's a batch reflecting that. BUCK-TICK - 悪の華 BOØWY - BEAT EMOTION Laputa - 私が消える Madeth gray'll - Lucifer ~魔境に映る呪われた罪人達と生命の終焉~ SOFT BALLET - DOCUMENT Might come back here later and make another post with my fave pieces of artwork not featuring actual musicians, lol. -

Really always enjoyed Moran's single/album covers. I love their L'oiseau blue single and their All Time Best album covers. Also thought of Kagrra's last album. Beautiful and enticing to look at its duality theme (between the two different versions). -

5 pointsi couldn't find this topic. if it exists feel free to close as necessary. i know there's a "worst jrock cd cover" thread, but how about ✨best? ✨ spreading those positive vibes. one of my favourites has always been protoplasm by rentrer en soi. i've always dug the photo, and ryo's heels tbh. also i think this is when they first stylized their logo differently, and i stan (stun?) another gem is 4u -mary gold- by d'air. it's pretty simplistic but i've always found it endearing. their covers kind of went downhill from here tbqh but the bops forever remain. for something more current, i'm really digging the inferiority complex and narcissism cover by rands. i think the overall design is pretty gorgeous. kinda wishing they had done it in a digipak format, though.

5 pointsI've always been fond of the cover for Downy's 5th Untitled album: Not only is it interesting to look at, but something about it just captures their bleak, dystopian sound so well. The cover to sleepy.ab's "palette" is another favorite:

Not a single vocalist you listed can't scream/growl properly. They are objectively trash, absolutely zero technique. Contrary to them Keisuke actually has a proper technique, combined with an insane range. Choosing to reject such an obvious evidence is just misguided. Did you even mean what you said? If so, I can't really take you seriously. -

Mejibray - Emotional【KARMA】 tRiPpY 4. sukekiyo - ADORATIO 5. kein - 自責と蠱毒 this is creepy af 6. メリー - アンダーワールド just look at this creature!

2 pointsWoah, that's a lot of series with a ratio of 1 guy to 4 girls. Hard pass, I won't be watching anything but one punch man and attack on titan. As much as I love giving new things a try, I'm losing more and more of my patience towards most anime, especially anything involving a 14 year who wants her teacher to impregnate her at all costs. Why.

Frankly, to me it's a typical deathcore band. I understand why people like it, but praising the band that much like some people do clearly shows that the only thing they care about in such kind of music is whether the band is japanese visual kei or not. There are thousands of bands that are on par with Deviloof when it comes to signing and technical aspect. Yet, there are always some cool moments in Deviloof's songs that I like. -

1 pointYou say "properly" as if he isn't a poser. Brutal isnt about Technique it's about intention. This dude obviously wants to be brutal but isnt there. Mejibray, the piass and Aikaryu on the other hand are not and are just making music; so they dont have to be as good Alex terrible, Phil Bozeman, Dickie Allen, ect. they just have to not ruin the heavy/ish instrumental. Are you saying you prefer new BMTH 🤣🤣🤣🤣 and they're more brutal cause oli wasnt doing unclean properly and had no technique back then? Tsuzuku definitely has a great filthy Piggy lows (body), powerful raw mid screams (body, rare), sinister highs as welll as nices frys(body), and powerful shrieks and Aikaryu has better fry/highs too. Brutal is basically like fashion, you have the ITs, the people wanna be not ITs (Deviloof, Diru), and the different swag that still serves (mejibray, Aikaryu, the piass). EDIT: Also i know this is a mejibray website so i wont so i wont be taking your "opinions" seriously. "they are a band that got worse over time" being spammed. the only songs that support that were statement was "hakuraku" and Yokusou (欲槽) ended that.

LOL. This season will probably be trash to most people (aside from the continued series), but I've read a couple of these, so I can give some insight. Kenja no Mago Isekai fodder. Mildly interesting since it has trash-Harry Potter vibes, but it's pretty meh like most isekai series. Main hero is so OP that the story just drolls on. I've read most of it, but have it stalled b/c it's gotten pretty boring imo. Bokutachi wa Benkyou ga Dekinai Yep, Bokuben and Moeyuki are getting animated :D. If you liked Nisekoi or any other school-life/slice-of-life/rom-com series, you're going to like this one. I actually prefer this over Nisekoi b/c the characters are better. Midara na Ao-chan wa Benkyou ga Dekinai I dropped this one. Too ecchi centric. Senryuu Shoujo This is one of the series I really like as it's pretty cute, and the comedy w/ the 5-7-5 is refreshing. Would recommend. Sewayaki Kitsune no Senko-san Another one of those series w/ a several hundred-year-old loli. It's cute, but it really plays to a certain audience >_>. I've stalled the manga simply because it feels very episodic and the content is not that interesting. Hitoribocchi no ○○ Seikatsu This one is cute and funny. Its comedy is centered around the main character's social anxiety, and leads to some interesting situations. It's also been memed to hell. Joshi Kausei I read some chapters of this a couple years ago. The series has no dialogue, but it's not particularly bad (?). I'm curious as to how this is going to work, since It'll probably come off really lazy without any dialogue. -

Mejibray has some of the worst harsh vocals I've ever heard so lol -
1 pointYA-SU is an awesome vocalist. All his bands are worthwhile!
-
1 pointKeisuke's guttural/death growl techniques are on point,if you compare him with the most famous deathcore bands in the world. All the "unusual" things he does on his vocal performances is what makes each track a memorable thing and at the same time a "love it or hate it" band,if you get what I mean. Furthermore he's NOT a clean singer, definitely not.The muddy, sloppy and kinda amusing aspect of his clean singing is done on purpose, since he has a very funny personality.
-
1 pointI gotta give it to Karma. When I first heard the PV, I didn't like the song at all. After listening to the mini several times, I absolutely love it. This is oldschool j-rock made with today's possibilities of recording - clean sounds and such. And their song "Enbu" is an absolute beast to me - I hear so many references there to old-school bands.
-
1 pointone of THE most #comfy bands ever in my humble onion
-
1 pointThe instrumental slaps, but the vocals are weak af and muddy. Therefore Mejibray, Aikaryu, and The Piass will remain the brutal kings of VK. David's Blood-Resonance for Existence-, Femme Fatale's GRIM REAPER and 劇情テノール (gekijotenor_)'s beast slap harder imo. They should learn how to do deathcore properly or drop it. better than Quinstet though.

holy shit dude that sounds terrible. everything about it i just straight out of my worst nightmares, like it sounds like as if I got stuck in a time warp while eating at a chinese restaurant and unable to leave the company of the two 60 year old Japanese women sitting at my table. -
1 pointGoddamn it. It really irks me how much there are brainless assholes that still support this dude after all those years of borderline scamming. I once commented "nobody cares, just release the album" on a FB picture he posted with some random celebrity and a lot of people started attacking me lol I'm glad to see people here aren't blindly supportive towards him considering the extent some people's fanboying go...

1 pointI'd rather listen to MOAB because it sucks less than TIW but the bassless production is as bad sounding as the overly-clipped mass of sounds of TIW imo. I don't know, I never really had a problem with Uroboros' original mix and I think the strange-sounding production actually aids to create the unique atmosphere the album has, but I don't really any issue with the remaster either (except with "Stuck Man" that sounds really weak without the bass as prominment as on the original). I think the best thing the remaster did was enhance the vocals (when the subject matter is vocals alone, I usually recommend people to listen to the remaster because comparatively, the growls are much clearer, the harmonies are crispier) but I see how someone would feel like it lessens the power of the original experience as a whole. I wonder if we'll ever have another good sounding album by them lol. Even they are mostly sticking to the same production crew for a while, their sound has been getting increasingly worse overall. A band with their importance and influence having only 3 great produced albums out of 10? WTF That's sincerely why I want them to tour as less as possible to really have the most time to work on studio possible. You can really feel how rushed the whole process for TIW was (not only when it came to production overall, but the writing really felt dumbed down and lacking too). Kinda curious how much they toured in 2007 (the most they ever toured in an year) and 2008 (not as much as they did in 2007) and still came out with something with the scope and complexity of Uroboros in less than two years after Marrow. Maybe they're just old and rich and lazy now?

1 pointfinally decided to make an account after lurking the past couple of months! recently starting to get back into vkei after a 10yr + hiatus. my favorite bands were mucc, dir en grey, merry, girugamesh, and probably more that I can't recall. although mucc was the band that made the biggest impact on me, I haven't been able to enjoy any of their releases from over the past 10 years lol. oh well, I still have hope. since updating myself with the current scene, so far I am super impressed with dimlim and kizu. looking forward to discover new music and possibly go to lives with others living here in Tokyo (y)
