OMG the vocalist looks like a Dragon Ball Z fusion between DIMLIM's and Deviloof's vocalists, That guy is interesting ! The whole concept/aesthetic is just some Ahawareta part 2,but definitely way more promising than I expected

Latest band from cool guy Eiji (ex. マカロニ, 秘密結社コドモA, DENTAKU etc.) will be releasing a seven track mini album on 12/26/18. Tracks #2 and #5 are covers from previous Eiji bands (DENTAKU and 秘密結社コドモA respectively ). These guys were great during the recent Matina event, so I am really hyped for this release!

the god and death stars new album, "funky ghost hollywood" (10 songs, 3000 yen) will be released on December 5. The band will also host their live, "1118GIGS2018-special edition-【funky ghost hollywood】" at Ikebukuro CHOP on November 18.

Are these guys new to the scene ? All i can say is holy hell issei came loaded and ready to fight. This is a Banger and the energy they give off is insane. Jumping to an album as a debut release and some amazing shreding thats not overly done is really imppressive. This band seriously has potential. I will admit it does sound like DIMLIM but it can't be helped since a former dimlim is there. Really solid stuff and im sure this album wont dissapoint. @Yukimoto Dude this is a major surprise, i really dig it

i dont know i kind of actually really dig it. i know some people might think of it as a less impressive version of dimlim but considering dimlim has been the most impressive group this year i think its fine

It does truly sound like a wannabe DIMLIM track but I don't want to knock it because the song is not bad tbh and I really like this vocalist I think. He may be ripping off DIMLIM too in some sections but his gutturals are their own at least!

Just had my first driving lesson and it went a lot better than expected, I even feel energized afterwards now! It was a lot of fun, next time on next Saturday.

Been re-listening to some Thy Darkened Shade today, they truly are in a realm of their own. Their last full-length was released 4 years ago already, and last year they only had 2 split appearances (great tracks nonetheless) so I really really hope some longer new material is being prepared. Everything they released so far is pure gold, but their 2nd (latest) album "Liber Lvcifer I: Khem Sedjet" is just A++ stuff. Kickass occult, complex and melodic BM.

After the first two months of 2019 passed, I decided to stop updating this list because every day I discovered a new 2018 album that I didn't hear before, on time. I decided to close this post as it is. 2018 was the year I've heard more music through all of my life. A huge lot of great album releases, from big and well known artists such as DEG, Kyary, KAMIJO, The GazettE, to new, indie, underground artists to me, such as Haru Nemuri, More, Klan Ailee, SWARRRM. Definitely one of the best years in Japanese music. I'm so glad 2018 was full of amazing albums because music is a great part of my life. Cheers for a 2019 full of great music as well. I don't think anyone has ever translated any of Kei's solo works before, aside from the PV songs, so I decided to take up on it! I've also been going back to "barred door." a lot for the past two years and was curious about the lyrics so I'll be working on his silk tree. album first.
