Mei said during an MC that he will continue, a lot of people expected to get a flyer from his new band when they left the hall but they didn't, so I guess he will reveal more information about this when he's ready. Some musicans from the scene attended the gig as well, among some of them were Kyouki (Grieva), Yuugo (Grieva), Hiryu (Miztavla), the bassist from Marblehead, Rei from Neclos (who?), Rei from Avanchick, and the rapper who Mei has been hanging out with a lot lately. Mei is the only one of the three who hasn't written anything about today, the only tweet he has written says Kitaku, which translated to "I'm going home". I've been wanting to write some of this stuff out forever because I'm a huge digital packrat and I like to archive these types of things... I don't think any of this has been written out anywhere before, but I'm not sure how much people actually care about the fan culture part of VK here, especially the Japanese fan culture, and especially the online Japanese fan culture. For as much as I love visual kei, there are plenty of practices I detest. I could go on forever. It wouldn't be fair to celebrate all of the good in the scene without admitting the bad as well. There are so many things that make me sad, make me irate, or make me want to rip my hair out that it was hard to settle on just five. Here's five commonplace practices in visual kei that's a total ball ache for any international fan invested into the scene. Like I said above, I have way more than five things that annoy me about the scene. Does anyone else want to fill in the gaps with practices that they hate that they've come to accept within the scene? Come share your frustrations and horror stories with me. We have plenty of tea and live-distributed crackers for you.

Covers are deceiving, and I'm familiar with a couple of these: Goblin Slayer might be pretty good *comment above* If done right, Toaru Majutsu no Index III is going to be the anime of the season. (Yes, with both SnK and Tokyo Ghoul in there... Please, J.C Staff don't screw this up) They're apparently covering everything to the end of the "Old Testament" LNs in two cours (24 eps), and all of it is pretty action-packed. Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken has really excellent world-building for an isekai series. That art style threw me for a loop b/c it looks moe-fied from the original, but hopefully it stays true to the series. Kishuku Gakkou no Juliet is just Nisekoi w/ a different art style, if you like that sort of series. Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume wo Minai is not bad. It has supernatural and psychological elements to it, and there is no harem in this series (that I know of.) The yuri series (Yagate Kimi ni Naru) is nice and has well-rounded characters. I can vouch for it.

I adore them. Hoping that they'll add a concert in Tokyo at the end of december/start of January, I really want to see them live! (and grab as many CD/DVD as I can)

理由 me up! (理由 me up inside) What's the reasoning for that? With Ranunculus, the lyrics were on screen. For the other song, "I cannot love myself" (or sth like that) was audible and/or on screen, too. Kyotaku calls it "Punk's Not Dead", iirc. It's so confusing, all these new songs @.@

I read some Japanese fan reports of their most recent live show. Here is the info I could gather on new songs. - The 理由 remake has a shortened intro and a rougher guitar tone reminiscent of MoaB. There is some shouting at the end now. - One of the new songs that they just started playing has harsh vocals (they said デスボ in Japanese which means “death voice.” I don’t know if this is for all/most of the song or not as the description was unclear) and a blastbeat. - The song that was played on the Mode of DSS tour is most likely titled “Celebrate Empty Howls.”

But...the internet. You don't have to sell CDs to sell music anymore. It's a false equivalence in the age of gigabit internet. In my opinion, blaming overseas fans for poor sales is a straw man argument. Plenty of non-visual indie acts from all over the world produce music on a dime and manage to sell it to anyone interested. In fact, most of these bands do the legwork with constant online promotion in order to get the word out, and promotion via word of mouth is free. We do it all the time on their behalf. We have YouTube, we have iTunes, we have SoundCloud, we have OTOTOY, we have Bandcamp, we have official home pages, and we have countless other services which provide instant international exposure for a minimal price. At what point does it transition from "music is expensive to make" to "fuck you foreigners, you don't get to hear these particular songs"? Because honestly, that's what this whole live-distributed music has transformed into from the perspective of someone who is never going to take a trip to Japan. Also, there's a big, BIG difference between a live distributed release that functions as a preview and a live distributed release that functions as a present. One of them might end up on a future release available for international purchase. The other disappears into the sands of time. Limited live-distributed releases in particular are a form of ass cancer that needs to go terminal and die. That's intentionally spending money and limiting your exposure for no appreciable gain. If you have money for wigs and photo shoots but not enough money to record music, you're doing the whole visual kei band thing wrong.

I figured most people are familiar with this song, and it's a song I thought deserved a better translation than some I've seen, so I decided hey, why not? *Disclaimer* Just to cover any bases, I'm putting this here because this song isn't really suitable for people who are underage, but then again the first one that@plastic_rainbowposted probably wasn't either. You'll notice than in their alternate costumes for this concept, the band is dressed as doctors. At the end of the PV, all of the women die from violent causes. Is this carried out as they climax/orgasm, or has the enlightenment through orgasm theme been replaced with BDSM and violence instead? (Possibly for shock value?) i was looking for a thread like this to discuss some of the legendary happenings i've been reading about so -the guy from HenzeL getting pelted with natto during a show and heckled to the point his mom tried to stop them -KLACK showing a beheading video during a big festival while being the most irrelevant band there -the time Rentrer en Soi kicked out their guitarist who happened to be Yuuga's brother who impregnated a girl after trying to make him make her get an abortion, and Yuuga got so mad Satsuki had to get on his hands and knees and apologize on stage -when Koma from kurara zeroshiki stole a song from an ero game and got caught -when Byou/Toge and Yuuto from JOKER told Kazuhi he had to leave the band right after they did a show -the time Vogus Image's vocalist accused Tora of stealing their shit, and Tora clapped back by calling him a druggie -Zipang's entire existence: the head of their label was arrested for meth, and the vocalist said he was so fucked up on drugs that they couldn't even talk to him, so he decided to leave the band. But the label head posted on their site and claimed the vocalist raped someone and ran off with million of yen, and that he had fired them because of it. -Yukiya from JILS kicking someone for recording a show -when Sugizo got a parking ticket and said it was like being in Germany under Hitler -Vidoll writing a whole dramatic song about the time someone posted Rame's email address on tanuki
