This is fucking absurd, pardon my Language. I just .... I can’t stick up for this band anymore I think. This is completely insane to be charging this amount of money to see a band perform the same songs they’ve performed for the last ten years in preparation for an album that’s never coming. This is absolutely ridiculous.

I think Laputa is just one of those bands that will always be appreciated more in the Japanese VK scene than the overseas one, and there's not too many VK shows I've seen in Nagoya where the band didn't mention them at some point while joking/MCing. My fave songs by them are "Yurenagara..." and "Eve ~last eve for you~". But for the latter, it sounds nicer on the album with the piano intro imho. Aki has one of those really unique voices in VK, so if you're feeling it, might be worth checking out his solo work after Laputa disbanded.

The vkei facebook groups are full of white knights who feel they are above piracy from a moral standpoint, and listen to their music through YouTube while completely disregarding the irony that the vast majority of vkei on that platform in fact comes from piracy (and to add on another level of irony, said music most likely stems from this board). I have a lot of thoughts on the subject that I'm having trouble putting together, but most of it boils down to "Westerners don't buy CDs + can't go to a gig in Japan, and the Japanese don't like streaming + have no interest in playing here, so unless one side gives no one is going to be happy." That being said, vkei has a lot of novelty tax associated with it because no one actually buys it, so they're trying to make as much money off of each sale as they can. Pressing 400,000 copies of a U2 album is probably a lot more cost efficient for everyone involved than pressing 100 copies of the next Datura single. I also get that music isn't free, it costs money to produce it, you're being entitled, Ayn Rand was a good writer, etc etc etc but for as much as people come across as entitled, the counter argument is hard to not interpret as rabid gate-keeping. I think we as fans shouldn't forget. Would we like it if someone would upload your music for free? I guess the answer would be "NO" That's why I think it would be GOOD. if we would change something. Why won't we upgrade the sharing rules? You can say Piracy is needed to make a band more popular. However if a band drop out some great songs on YouTube and move their butts to promote themselves including some nice fans sharing their love for them without Jealousy it can go pretty fast. back then look at ADAMS, they got fame in no time. If a band is really good they will be noticed. Beside that, we got some people here who live in Japan. Osaka, Nagoya, Tokyo... Why won't some of them get the hands together and help others to get some good CD's? without too much extra high FEES. I still think we need to change something of the Piracy. It's simply not good, MH is also known by Japanese users, it's not only we from outside of Japan. And it's the first source for band promotion, finding news, finding stuff etc. So if we change things, the vkei world outside of Japan will also change their mind in things. and I think more people should read this Edit: Also we live in 2018 now. Music is already far more easy to purchase. Back in the days it was not easy and it was nice if you could get something for free. It was even "LEGAL" for a long time in a lot of countries and even the longest in Netherlands. And yet "Netherlands" is more hunting the real big boys who share a lot of music or movies. Still at least here in my country, reducing the ways of getting stuff illegal makes people BUY. Look at the PS3/4 games. You can't not get them illegal. And the game industry is doing amazing. Maybe MH should try to collaborate with bands. But then those bands should make music easy for sale and would be more amazing if they would share once a month a free track or something like that. However then maybe the DL part should be fully closed?! But that also would give up good opportunities to discover bands. After all, where we here for is to discover bands and it doesn't matter that much if we only have a few REAL amazing songs. than a discography of a band with maybe a few REAL liked track's isn't? and we always can keep going with "GHOST" sharing. But then you also should be willing to "GHOST" share it to everyone. and not only to a few favorite people <- if only wanting you better can share it those in an facebook message or something But we always could hint other users for (drop a DM then I will share) Somehow, after 10 years of MH, I think MH can make a step to a next more LEGAL level.
