    Hello :)

Hello, My name is Kristy Ive always found my latest goss to Vkei music through Visualioner and Youtube. Recently a friend of mine uses this forum and she recommend me to come here and join the monochrome heaven family. I remember the the first two bands that brought me to Vkei were Alice nine and An Cafe. I've been listening to Vkei since 2005 and stuck with it ever since. My favourite bands are Gazette,Sadie and Nocturnal bloodlust. Currently listening to Jiluka, Rides in Revellion, Dexcore, Fixer, Razor,Royz and Dadaroma. Lovely to meet you all

Hey everyone. I'm koutetsuhime, or kou for short. I've also gone by awakenthesadist/medicalshower in the past on LJ and batsu (ohh boy blast from the past). I also ran a few communities over on Livejournal, so if you recognise me from there or batsu, heeey. It's really quite strange to come back to a fandom you used to know so well and feel so lost, so I thought I'd join this community and try to get settled back in. So apparently I made this account way back in 2012 and never introduced myself, oops. Seems like a little while after Versailles went on hiatus, I kinda lost interest in VK, and now I'm trying to return to being somewhat involved in the VK fandom. I got super into the metal fandom for a while there, even doing concert photography and shit, but I was getting a little bored of it and somehow ended up coming back to VK. Embarrasingly enough, I think it was that terrible Finebros 'people react to VK' vid that sparked my interest again. Of all things. I don't have many newer bands I like, but I've been obsessing over DADAROMA like crazy! And that last lynch. release was pretty awesome. (I'm totally open to band suggestions.) I'll forever continue to love Aikaryu, but I also still quite enjoy Phantasmagoria, Unsraw, Deluhi, older Versailles, really old Dir en grey, and some others. I also listen to various metal bands, BAND-MAID, aaaand... Babymetal. I really need to get back into my listening game, honestly. A bit rambly, but yeah, that's me. よろしく☆

A new KIYOHARU single has been announced. AKA NO EIEN / TSUMIHOROBHOSHI NOBARA will be released on 2/9, however it's limited to a live venue release rather than a wider public release. AKA NO EIEN is the lead song off the upcoming YORU、CARMEN NO SHISU album (slated for 2/14), while TSUMIHOROBHOSHI NOBARA will be only be contained in the single. JIN OKI plays flamenco guitar on AKA NO EIEN. Duran plays guitar on TSUMIHOROBHOSHI NOBARA. Yuji Okiyama (who played BASS on Kiyoharu's earliest solo releases) and Katsuma (coldrain drummer) will fill out the rhythm section. Single jacket has been handled by YUTARO (sads' bassist). https://natalie.mu/music/news/265292 https://www.barks.jp/news/?id=1000150866#utm_source=tw_BARKS_NEWS&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=tw_auto

I got a job~! Now I have to start practising swedish way more Even though it has gotten lot better in just two months. (I will work in a hotel, where I have to speak in three langauges. If I was brave enough, I would try to learn japanese hotel vocabularly but my boyfriend keeps telling me not to and refuses to teach some stuff because he would want me to speak keigo.)

excited for the song with mia x leda, the solo mia rips into as the preview fades out sounds amazing also that random nagoya-but-not-at-all-nagoya end track is weird but im curious and hearing how yo-ka and jui sound on their backing vocals (hopefully they can take some parts away from asagi because it'll be a nice contrast)

Just listened to the new .. "album" .. i guess. That shit made my head hurt a lot. I mean... if you wanna cash cow the shit out of this band, at least give them something listenable.. those remasters are of the worst kind I ever heard... and OH Yeah, this is like the first time I listened to the remake of a remake of a song, or even the remake of a pre-remake. Awesome right? My ears are puking but oh well .. some die hard fans will come all over this just because there's DIR EN GREY on it. At least they kept the cover authentic. This really sounds like a CD with ALOT of scratches. I'm out. VOS sucks. 0 points.

Embryo has different lyrics and Ryoujoku no Ame has re-recorded vocals. Those are the first two I think of aside from what you already mentioned. I actually prefer Lotus’ single version. It has better dynamics I think.

Myaku and [KR]Cube have extended intros/outros Child Prey's Vulgar Version has different EQ levels for guitars and Kyo screams "The reasons why one can't laugh..." part instead of speaking through walkie-talkie/megaphone filtering (single version) Embryo's single version has different lyrics Ryoujoku no Ame's single version feels much more one take-ier, has WtD mixing enabled and Kyo falsettoing during the climax part instead of mumbling (TMOAB version) Lotus' single version is much muddier and does not push Toshiya to the front.

The problem is with the track sequencing, which is another issue DEG has. Very rarely do their albums flow well from track to track. The problem with DSS is Different Sense shouldn’t have followed Beelezebub; it’s too different of a mood shift for it to work, so they slapped on that interlude that sounds like Shinya and Toshiya tumbled down the stairs together. I mean, shit, why is Clever Sleazoid in between Namamekashiki and Ware, Yami Tote on Vestige? That’s ridiculous. Arche is a mess too, especially the latter half.

    MH JRock Awards 2017

Best Overall Artist/Band: Jiluka. Everything they released this year was flawless (to me). Best Album: Acid Blood Cherry and Pantheon -Part 1- (Matenrou Opera) take the crown this year. Gotcharocka's Screamy was also really good. Best Single/Maxi-Single/EP: Jiluka - Xenomorphic. D's Orokashii Ryuu no Yume was also great and Do As Infinity released pretty solid singles. Best Cover Art: I never really pay attention to those, but Grimoire's cover art for Uranometria alone makes me want to buy it. Best Song: Ajna. Best Look: D's dragon look is what I had been waiting for since 2014. No kidding. Best Newcomer: Kizu. They are great on CDs and live. Best Veteran: D and Mucc. Best PV: I literally only saw like 3... Grimoire's PV for Frabjous Natch was entretaining to watch. Saddest Disbandment: Yusai. I had high hopes for them. Ramiel also kinda hurt, they were nice live. Most Overhyped Band: 0.1 no Gosan. They aren't that great imo. Most Overhyped Release: Virge's first mini. Everyone was going nuts about it and I found it dissapointing. Their singles were better. Aiolin didn't live up to the standards either. Most Underhyped Band: Amabo needs more love, though all their releases being live limited doesn't help them AT ALL. Most Underhyped Release: Can't think of one, really. Most Disappointing Release: Maybe Keel's Shishi... I expected more. Aiolin's releases too. Most Anticipated Release: Ajna. I actually looked at the PV several times, and I NEVER do that. I also ordered it with EMS cause I couldn't wait a month to get it. Band that Changed their Sound for the Best: Definitely D Band that Changed their Sound for the Worse: Probably NoGoD? Band that you spent most of your money on in 2017: Jiluka and D, hands down. I don't want to count to check which one eins either because I'll get depressed. What the hell were they thinking!? Award: That fairy-kei look D threw at us in may. I can't believe I have photos with them looking like that. Best Revival/Returns: I don't follow such old bands, but probably the only one I'm interested in is Mary Rue, cause You <3

Never listened to the band until now (because of everyone praising the new single) and I really like what I hear. Clean vocals are nice and the growls too, the instrumental part is quite awesome actually. Loving the first two tracks but, even though I love me some hard heavy music, I'm not digging 塵外 very much, the low pig squeal sounds weird, all I can hear is "yoyoyoyoyieyoyo" Cool single. New fan here

    Doombox's Musical Adventures of 2017

K, thank you for the review, it was a good read. I will comment about bands I know (I know just three btw ) I'm still think if I should post mine. As for 2017, I think MUCC got some really impressive releases. You probably already know I felt in love with their 新葬ラ謳 like I never did with a release from them before. I'm not a fan from the full 脈拍 album itself, but I dig some songs like 脈拍, 絶体絶命, KILLER and CLASSIC. From 真天地, I have only listened to their 糞麺氏ね mini, but I don't it hit me like I was hoping to. I will look for others releases to actually create a full opinion from what they are doing. I haven't checked 『メンヘラ』はじめました at all, so this mind be the first I will go for since you claimed it to be better than the other lol Here we go, Xaa Xaa,... I truly like those guys and I also followed than since Belmosaic, but if to compare with the past years from their music (even including Belmosaic, this is personally a weak release, but I love 落とし穴 to the level of being one of my favorites from them. From this one, I do like 人殺し, 最後の歌 and 交尾をしてよ too. @BrenGun You should definitely check their albums from 2017. In special 新葬ラ謳.

Know what else? Drain Away should have been replaced with Amber. The fans have failed.

That's worrisome, but also an oportunity for them to develop as a band. To be fair, there are few acts so derivative as Morringan nowadays, their songs all sound the same, but they generally are good, so that's not a real issue. If Pitty is indeed the main/solo composer, they'll have to get their shit together and expand their writing (the good option) or try to mimic Pitty's style (the lame option)
  40. 1 point
because they don't want to become a famous rock band like the other young bands ?! Their are a lot of old bands who are still playing at Meguro Rock May Kan or Ikebukuro CHOP. The band is not their main job. They are still playing together because they want to and they like to.

The whole new single is a great step up for these guys. My favorite song is innocent passion, because Sho clean singing is absolutely hypnotic, also his screams, this guy is a beast!! Can't explain why but this band placed the empty space that MEJIBRAY left in my conscience, cuz their atmosphere and Sho vocals are so similar to Tsuzuku skills, imo. Fucking good band

KAMIJO & Hatsune Miku maxi-single, "SANG -Another Story-" will be released on March 21 in two types. Limited edition (2000 yen) will come with special cover artwork with 3D printing. Regular edition is 1500 yen. Tracklists are the same from what I can see atm. Other than that, there's no real difference between both editions... [tracklist] 1.Sang -Another Story- 2. Your top 10 favorite visual kei bands?

    1. DIAURA - the one current VK band that has never let me down, ever. 2. GOTCHAROCKA - Some of the most catchy VK melodies I've ever heard. Shortcake is an earworm that I would be happy to have stay with me forever. 3. SCREW - they deserved so much better than the industry gave them. (One band that would have been far better off never crossing paths with PSC). 4. GazettE - the Holy Trilogy of NIL, Stacked Rubbish and DIM alone would get them this spot. 5-7 - the three BP Records bands, Kiryu, Royz and Codomo Dragon. Yes, they overflood the market with singles, but when they're on, they're ON, and each band has a unique charm. (Codomo Dragon, in particular, has put out some gems - Viper has one of the best openings ever). 8. Moran - only found them after they'd disbanded, wish to hell I'd found them during their heyday. Wonderfully deep, layered, sophisticated music - there isn't much other VK that can honestly be described as jazz-rock. 9. Alice Nine - if only because they were my first VK love and they earn a spot on my personal hall of fame with Rainbows and The Beautiful Name alone. 10. Lycaon - They were a rowdy, dirty sex band, but they were a damn GOOD rowdy, dirty sex band. (The more toned down Initial'L incarnation just isn't the same). Honorable mentions include D=OUT, Mejibray, Fest Vainqueur, Morrigan, Jiluka, BORN, Kagrra and older Kra (I think a lot of people forget how damn GOOD they were from their launch until they lost their original guitarist).

Best Cover Art: Marco - 穴二つ (Ana Futatsu) Best Song: Marco - 夕轟 (Yutodoroki) Best EP: Labaiser - Chain of Tragedy (improvement in production quality, along with some stellar songs) Marco - セイゾンノシルシ (Seizonnoshirushi) (improvement from their previous releases, with some pretty awesome tracks!! probably their best work by far) Best Look: MERRY - エムオロギー (m-ologie), Marco - セイゾンノシルシ (Seizonnoshirushi), Labaiser - Chain of Tragedy Best Newcomer: ガンミ (Ganmi); ヤミテラ (Yamitera); Yumeleep (if they even count as "newcomers") Best PV: MERRY - エムオロギー (m-ologie), Marco - 夕轟 (Yutodoroki) Saddest Disbandment: ELYSION (they came off as the second coming of Megaromania, but they weren't as good and in the end, they ended up flopping anyway...very disappointed about both their musical output & their quick disbandment, but I wasn't really surprised when it was announced.) ガンミ (Ganmi) (short-lived, but gone too soon, they had a lot of potential with their retro 2000s sound...) MARIA’N†ROSA (technically a hiatus, but very short-lived as they also had lots of potential as a symphonic metal band) Most Overhyped Band: R-shitei, Lack-co, RAZOR Most Underhyped Band: Marco, Kalavinka, Crucifixion (although Marco was the same way in the past, the latter two bands' stuff is less accessible but I wish it would be shared somehow, and they deserve far more recognition than they have right now) Most Anticipated Release: Marco - セイゾンノシルシ (Seizonnoshirushi), Marco - 穴二つ (Ana Futatsu) Most Disappointing Release: ELYSION - APOTHEOSIS (poor production quality, which was also prevalent in their previous singles) SIRENE - Testament ~I'm Not Diva~ (was expecting this to be a sweet kotekei release judging from Maasa's bands, but it ended up being basic bitch garbage aside from a few tracks :/) Band that Changed their Sound for the Worst: ELYSION (production quality began to deteriorate after their first single & even one of their newer songs is plagiarized) Band that you spent most of your money on in 2017: MERRY, Marco ;w; What the hell were they thinking!? Award: ZIN (Jupiter) & his America-kei project The guy from Rave staging his arrest to promote a single 厨二溺レ死ヌ。(chunioboresinu.)'s brief stint as "ベティ。" (betty.) for like 3 months... Best Revival/Returns: David (Sui solo project) (made up for Lin 2.0's floppage by releasing the amazing, "Requiemage") Megaromania (reunited after 4 years, there's now rumors of a 2018 return and the fact that they were my first vk band, I hope that's true ;w; ) ((I'm sorry this list is kinda biased and limited to only a few bands ;w; ))
