MiA is beyond average y'all, he sat for 5+ years of his life watching deluhi DVDs trying to replicate leda's sweep runs and thrashy riffs and non-guitar players somehow think he's a god. he's not awful, he's probably well capable but by no means amazing--for christ's sake he reuses the same chord progression on a lot of mejibray choruses. also people, talent =/= fame in vk in case y'all forgot; MiA got those spots in sessions because he had some success with meji and networked well within that time, leading to him being well-liked among bandmen (at least major men). a lot of people in all parts of the scene know of mia, it's actually kind of weird how he's literally everywhere. if talent led to fame...screw should've disbanded after a year, not ending up going major not really a fan but stating my opinion even though none of us can do anything about it, thats what this forum is about its rumours, but considering how much tsuzuku claimed to love mejibray and live for mejibray, its a little sad to see the "mejibray" name being misappropriated to sell and push mia and meto just because they signed their souls away to forum. Im guessing ko and tzk signed up for that, but its just sad to see shady business practices, which i think people on this thread are trying to draw attention to, but we all have different opinions and thats okay. as frayed said, they should proceed activities as solo artists, not using the mejibray name, as is done with most other bands in that case. so mejibray has been tarnished, especially for those of us biased toward tzk/koichi.

In my opinion, I don't find MiA average. I admit to being biased, but I'm usually pretty good at saying when my faves aren't actually that awesome. However, I do want to see him in more situations that challenge what he's capable of as a guitarist and to switch things up a little. He went to a high school specifically for guitar, he composed most of Mejibray's music, and from watching him - not to negate his showmanship, because he's always really fun to watch, but he makes his solos look so easy I feel like he could play them asleep at this point. I'll never be happy about this hiatus, but I'd like to see him do something exciting and different. (Not to say networking isn't a factor at all, boy networks his ass off lol.) Also, re: shady business practices, SO MUCH THIS.

Us on the outside will never know the severity or the details behind Akinori or Umebo's arrests. Their cases could be completely different (say the difference between a misdemeanor and a felony), so I think it's difficult to compare the two without knowing these details. Let's just be happy that Akinori is back and leave it at that. The link posted above has a great quote from Umebo's new band's vocalist regarding his return to the scene: "[...] look, he ain’t no murderer nor an idol on TV commercials. He’s just a badly behaved death metal musician who might have stepped just a bit across the red line. And for that, he’d been socially punished and brought to justice. So, if you still want him to receive punishment, I say you do that personally."

i don't care much about re-recs bc their live dvds fix the production disasters (basically i get to actually hear toshiya), i.e. the new kickass version of audience killer loop. i also like the live touches they put on their older tracks (toshiya changes up some basslines, clearer guitar sounds/changes in tuning), plus some frills like the segway between undecided --> higeki on the rose trims is to die for. +1 on hearing them rework zakuro, its one of my favs (it made me pick up bass) but the lyrics are kind of cringe now and if they're still down with the prog train it'd make for an awesome new version

Cooking and trying new cuisine is one of my passions. I find that there is art in the preparation and presentation of food, and wondered if any of you felt the same? I felt it would be interesting to have a place to show Food pictures, recipes, restaurant recommendations, food cravings, and to host discussions about foods from all over the world. I am South Asian and was born in Karachi, Pakistan but I moved to Texas when I was eleven years old and it has shaped my food identity quite heavily. I adore spices and complex flavors but I appreciate warm and comforting foods as well. I cook almost every day, and my short term goal is to bake macrons from scratch and purchase a quality stand mixer. On the menu tonight is pan seared Rib Eye steak with creamed garlic butter potatoes and a cranberry arugala salad drizzled with a cracked black pepper, lemon, and olive oil dressing.

i will say if anything ever fucks this bands up eventually it will absolutely be a division between hazuki and the guys who drink his kool-aid (reo and AK) and yusuke. reo might be the leader but love hzk as i do, he's a high functioning megalomaniac and reo toes his line. also i can see why individuals would be pissed/think this is kind of a shitshow because it undermines the statement their label put out to a hilarious degree... but on a macro level it makes sense, imo. emmny said it best about the (highly successful) PR it gave them even thru a mediocre release in SINNERS, and AK is beloved in the industry including by other bandmen because he is an extremely affable dipshit, an effect amplified by him being the protege of reo/hzk/a well-connected band with a good reputation. being the only one with charisma other than hzk, AK was responsible for a lot of their charm/public face and he's very good at what he does on that level as well. yusuke and AK were inseparable prior to this anyway so it doesn't surprise me at all he caved with or without pressure from hzk & co.

i don't get why people arent literally shocked at this mejidrama like i know their popularity died in foreign fandom but this drama is literally WILD i have never seen management fuck over a band so hard, especially because it was literally tsuzuku's brainchild

Akinori was possibly their only legit official bassist? All the other dudes before him on the wiki are listed as support only. But I'm hardly an expert on early Lynch. so maybe someone else in here can better comment on that.

They technically formed in summer 1998 and just worked at songs and jammed in studio for a good 6-12 months leading up to their first official live in April 99. http://www.up-down.com/100zigzo/z_bio.html It was the main reason why right after Monster Music was released, they already had a bunch of new singles ready to go. Monster Music was already in the bag by the time they officially debuted in summer 99 at Shockwave Illusion alongside all of those other Vkei acts. Zigzo did perform a quick live before their first April show as 'Malice~en~Sex', a play-on of the respective bands from Tetsu, Ryo/Den and Sakura, the setlist is unkown to the internets but most likely was Zigzo songs under that secretive name. And knowing how methodical, and perhaps busy, Tetsu is with all his bands...the fact that they didn't announce any new Zigzo album / single alongside the anniversary gigs makes me feel like there won't be any studio release. Tetsu's been doing well with The Black Comet Club Band these days and it's been his main focus.

I agree perfectly. But I'm feeling like meto and MiA are going to use the MEJIBRAY name even without Tzk and koichi. Well I really don't know how all of this drama will end up...indeed, MEJIBRAY without tzk isn't MEJIBRAY (just got excited with the fact of meto singing)

MiA is the reason why Mejibray became popular... Do you find Koichi good musician? Does he do anything apart looking good in this band? Btw IF MiA was average, he wouldn't be asked to take part in so many projects and believe me, Asagi doesn't work with average people.

SINNERS is now a mediocre release? Lol ok. These last two releases have been their best in a while. Happy they accepted him into the band again. He deserved punishment obviously.... Have to respect the law there. But, to think that his career would be over from possessing marijuana is stupid. Serve the punishment. Shame. Whatever. But your career shouldn't be over something so stupid. The band took the hits too. I believe they cancelled some tour dates and had to reschedule the Hazuki solo show? Sure it was inconvenience to everyone. So they took their lumps and it's time to move on.

I mean, what can you do about it? It's not like you can control it: in fact if something shady happened management wise there's literally nothing you, as a fan, can do about it. Both management AND band members have acted incredibly unprofessional since the hiatus announcement, and while you can only speculate through rumors about what the management has done, the super nasty unprofessional bullcrap the members pulled in their various lives lately is in everyone's eyes. Therefore I certainly am NOT into the drama mawma, I usually follow bands for their music and once they decide they're done, well, they're done... Especially this time around. Can't we just move on and remember the band for the good things it has done instead of tarnishing its name with stupid drama?

Slide all the knobs to the same level and leave for the day? Where’s the tone? Where are the textures? It’s all so flat and sterile.

Tsuzuku and Koichi came out painted black. There was no intro, the curtains opened and they were already standing silently in place until the first song started. When Tsuzuku went down, Koichi ran to Tsuzuku to check on him. Then Koichi stepped in front of him and flashed the middle finger, and he also kept holding up three fingers to show everyone until the curtain closed. Meto was also crying (at least that’s what I heard, I was honestly too caught up watching Tsuzuku and Koichi), Mia was trying to keep things together and kept playing until the end. There’s apparently going to be a DVD of this and it’s going to be 6,000 yen which is kind of insane for 14 songs. I really don’t know if they’ll keep that ending on it or not.
