In what I hope will be an end of year tradition for years to come; here's my second annual countdown of 10 noteworthy VK looks. Some good, some bad, some ugly; all likely to elicit some sort of reaction. Let's celebrate the "Visual" in Visual Kei! Obviously there are a lot of good ones I missed, so I encourage you to add the looks you think should be on the list in the comments below! According to Micaiah's most recent post (https://www.facebook.com/micaiah.hosokawa), the recordings of a "3rd CD" will begin soon, for the spring of 2018. Hopefully it will come true. Band FB.

TMOAB is so underrated. I loved the visceral and violent production and there were a lot of killer riffs on a good deal of songs like Grief, Disabled Complexes, Rotting Root, and Repetition of Hatred. It's nothing special, but I don't think it's as bad as people discredit it. And I don't care what anyone says, Agitated Screams of Maggots is a jam.

TicketCamp announced earlier this month that it was momentarily suspending its service, but in its latest update today, it says the service will close permanently on May 31, 2018. Until their suspension, TicketCamp was by far the most popular service for buying or reselling tickets, especially for VK and other music concerts. The decision seems to be a result of its recent legal troubles, assumably in light of its recent inaction toward cracking down on ticket scalping. I’ve personally been a TicketCamp user for a few years now and until now often bought/sold tickets on it. When first I signed up the rules clearly stated that the site was for personal resell/purchase only, and I felt like (at least for the bands I was reselling/buying for at the time), they were doing a adequate job of weeding out scalpers and other suspicious sellers. But with each passing year, it seemed like they were getting lazier and less was being done about it, to the point that most of the tickets I bought through their app this year arrived from ticket reselling companies (scalpers) in Tokyo. And as you can see in the tweet above, it was really getting out of hand. So I guess while not surprising news, until a new outlet (or old outlet like Yahoo!Auctions, etc.) (re)surfaces, it might be harder to resell or purchase tickets, especially for people overseas. In the meantime, if you are looking for tickets to a show and can’t buy thru Lawson, Pia, or eplus, try Twitter, MerCari (Japanese ver.), or Yahoo!Auctions. I’d link the actual news announcement but I can only see it in app on my phone atm. I did a quick search and didn’t see anything about it, but apologies in advance if there is already a thread for it.

This list cracked me up. Nice work, there are definitely looks that deserve to be discussed. Maybe some of these bands should have had discussions about them beforehand. As for the poll, I put kinda. I will listen to a band with crappy looks if I like the music, and likewise, I don't care how nice their look is, if the music is shit, I'm out. Too many bands put way too much effort into their image to make up for the fact they can't play their instruments, and I hate that the scene has pretty much become a catch-all for subpar musicians like that.

As for 2018, I try to keep up the list on vkeikonkon, DISBANDMENT / BREAK NEW / START __________________________ In 2017, we had a bunch of bands, who did start and who did disband in the same year, also we had some shocking disbands, also some nice bands did return. Of course also some nice new bands did start. The last few months, much more bands decided to disband, while it was about until August that disbandment and starting new was almost the same amount. I'm looking forward to 2018. And if someone has too much time, I would be glad if someone could finish a full list like in the spoilers just to put in here.

I like Dezert's look i tend to like R-shitei's looks, although shoujosoushitsu's remains my favorite Didn't pay too much attention to VK this year but I liked Arlequin's Makkana Uso

Agreed. I appreciated TicketCamp’s buyer protection and their easy to use templates for people not used to buying/selling tix. Twitter is harder because other users may not sell to you if you’re not in their FFs or a regular enough fan. Or if you’re like me and basically use Twitter to trade/buy/sell, it’s easy to miss a good opportunity not being on it 24/7. Like I dunno I hate scalping and all, but scalpers are like cockroaches and they always find another platform to take advantage of other people on, so imho in the grand scheme of things shutting the site down does very little to address the actual problem.

+1 on the dry looks tbh kyo's too busy serving looks with sukekiyo but once DEG settles on their concept for the new album i think they're gonna bring it also yeah those mixes of the old tracks are playing with my ears, i don't know what they've changed that makes such a big difference but I definitely hear it

My wife and I started watching The Ancient Magus Bride and My Hero Academia. We're only 4 episodes in to Magus, and while I love the atmosphere, it might be a bit too slow, and I haven't been able to suspend my disbelief on the main characters comfort with the situation and how uncomfortable her and bone dude's relationship is. Hero on the other had is managing to take a stale formula and making it fresh, though I worry how long it can hold up. The biggest problem I have with shounens is that often get stretch out too long and outstay their charm.

I just picked up Horizon Zero Dawn to add to the ever growing backlog...

RIP Ticketcamp. Super unfortunate, I mean I saw this coming when they shut down sales but. I understand why it happened, but for the bands I follow, most sales that weren’t Ticketcamp went through Twitter and that was just a mess.

I think we are talking about the same magazine. It had the same name and most of the interviews were from when bands toured in Germany and I think our ghetto people here just translated every number of the magazine and would sell it like that XD. Maybe that's why they stopped releasing it at one point /copyright got to them eventually XD/.
