Euclid Agency (artist management/CD recoding & publishing titan that has Golden Bomber, Anli Pollicino, some Penicillin side projects, etc, under their belt) has announced that actor Ryuji Sato is starting his solo project titled The Brow Beat under the ballisticly original artistic name "Ryuji". The whole thing is being musically produced (aka songwriting and musician selection) by Penicillin's Vo and general VK legend Hakuei. Ryuji seems to have a very prolific role in theathers, TV drama and some movies. He has been doing a musical play lately so he has some performance experience. Admiteldy, I had no idea of who he is and have to look all of this stuff up, but, yeah, he's a big deal. His first album 「ラグナロク」 (Ragnarok) will be released Jan 1st 2018 under TAMULA (Euclid's sublabel for Penicillin Side projects) in 3 types: A: CD+DVD (DVD: 2 PVS + MAKING) 2800JPY + tax B: CD+DVD+ Ragnarok Photobook (320 pages) 2800JPY + tax C: CD +DVD + Branded Bandana 2800JPY + tax CD tracklist +credits 1. (Music Video) 2.Black & Black(Music Video) 3.Making No support or recording members have been announced at this time. Euclid themselves already have a decent pool. The real interesting thing is Hakuei gabbing his phone though. Look at the credits for his latest solo album if you don't know what I mean. While Free Will and Goemon put their bets on Kizu and the still very mysterious Poidol respectively, Euclid seems to be making their next big move now that Zonbi has found their footing. Interesting stuff.

Oh I can answer this for you. As you probably guessed, it's going to be a Japanese concept album based on the Legend of Kaguya-hime (竹取物語). It's in the video description. The name, 浅葱, is just "asagi" in kanji. You got to have the kanji for the authentic nippon points.

this sounds like a p. cool song mashed up with a generic shitty D chorus, but it's better than his recent solo single idk... I also don't get the name change, but u do u henni sort of impressedT by the guest musician list, so much talent going into a single, potentially v. mediocre album lol

First song is meh. Second song reminded me of ame no waltz. They really are cranking out lots of music...i think they need to slow it down a little before they run into the same problems mejibray were getting into.

  37. 1 point
I'm really liking both of these songs. Especially ii kusuri's refrain/chorus. I felt the MV for warui kusuri (the white song) was a bit bland though. Yoshiatsu's vocals were exactly on point though. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel a lot of people think of 溺れる魚 and 雨のワルツ type of songs with Dadaroma, but they have been experimenting with other sounds from the beginning; especially with their jazzy songs. There are still hints (sometimes very big hints) of deathcore in their latest releases, so I actually think they are going very strong. IMHO, they're getting better.

    Horror Movies

Train to Busan - A thrilling ride that has a lot to offer. Not only is the premise and execution of the premise quite unique and extremely good for being a zombie film, but it's got actual characters and lots of development in both characters and plot and is, at this moment, a sorely needed addition to a genre that's not had much to offer over the last decade. It's hella lot more than just a two hour long fast-paced zombie-actioner, even though there's a lot of action and zombies throughout. In many ways it's just Snowpiercer with zombies, but that's good. Snowpiercer was awesome to say at least, and this is just as good if not better. 8,5/10

Always surprised how much criticism these guys get, I think their stuff is still miles ahead of most of their peers and really high quality musically. Maybe it's because their first few PVs set an extremely high standard? Anyway, really enjoyed both songs and thought that warui kusuri sounds like one of their best ballads.

    Horror Movies

October is already upon us and you know what this means: a month of horror! Day 1: It Comes at Night - Dark, gritty and intense psychological horror that'll keep you on the edge of the seat for sure. It's beautifully shot, well-written and superbly acted all the way through. Starts off as a strong drama before things get more and more claustrophobic, intense and frightening by the minute. If you're looking for a fast-paced horror film that'll feed you answers, this isn't it. This is far from it. This is slow-burning, intense and gritty horror-drama with a lot of focus on the latter genre. 8/10 Day 2: The Love Witch - The Love Witch was one of my most anticipated films of the year, and Anna Biller's second feature does not disappoint at all. The Love Witch is a comedic horror film about a modern day witch who uses spell and magic to make men fall in love with her. Sounds silly? You bet it is! It's silly, it's sleazy, it's witty and it's looks and feels very much like a lot of the late 60's-early 70's sexploitation films, but it never becomes trashy or cheap. It stays classy throughout. This horror film isn't meant to scare anyone. Quite the opposite. It's both playful and gentle, strange and odd, but it all blends together into a very original and unique film. We have cells phones, modern cars and all that. But despite these things, The Love Witch always feels like an authentic late 60's-early 70's horror film. The bright, beautiful Technicolor-coloring and colorful clothes and sets offers a film that is visually stunning, and the script, acting and direction is very playful. Everything about this film, with the exception of few elements, just screams of early 70's and I love it. This film is a future cult-film and it's a film that will divide the horror fans. I for one loved it and am really looking forward to see it again. 9,5/10

It is most definitely a banger! I've been listening to it everyday and hot damn, what an album. It is one of those who are made for a full listening everytime. The pace is amazing, makes 40 and some minutes pass by like 5. I'm even more impressed with some lyrics, Airfield, Shinrin-Yoku, AOTLJP, Undercover Agents. And both The Sights and S-Y grew on me, are now on par with the others. Overall, I'm really impressed. This heaviness thing, people are too much in love with TTTS (which is their worse, IMHO) and Common Dreads. As you said, both AFFOC and The Mindsweep had their fair share of soft/pop infusion, and are real killers. Revolt of the Atoms is the only track I skip. As much as I try to like it (the end section is kinda nice, to be fair), it simply doesn't click, just like Supercharge or Ghandi Mate, Ghandi... I find it kinda out of place, between UA and AOTLJP

    Reflection: Kagerou (2002-2003)

I love you so much for this 02/03 Kagerou was legendary. I discovered them around that time and I remember being completely enthralled by the Yubikiri and Yuugure no Shazai PVs (both downloaded from Kazaa/Soulseek with dial up internet) for ages, especially with Daisuke's vocals and looks. Yubikiri in particular I recall being pretty ''important'' to me as a baby VK fan. Their first album was great (Meisou Honnou goes the fuck offfff), but I'm more of a Rakushu guy probably because it was the first album of theirs I actually sit down to listen in full. Some of my other favorites songs from this year are Soushitsu, Sekkyou 38.5℃, Hieshou no onna, Nekura housoku komoriuta and most importantly, Kakokei Shinjitsu, which is to this day one of their very best and most underrated songs.
