Shaura (ex.VII-Sense, Moi dix Mois) has opened his facebook/instagram.
zaa_zaa and one other reacted to inertia for a post in a topic
I'm not surprised. It really looked like he had retired from public life and just wanted to live quietly hanging out with his old friends, and it's awkward using the same account for fans/promo and friends. In one of the Facebook posts, he said something about how 90% of the people who had friended him on FB were foreign, and he regretted not having studied English. But he was happy because he had already found 7 of his former classmates, and that was half of his class. I think now that he successfully got in touch with that many of his old friends, it makes sense to start over with a new account just for them. -

ラッコ (LACK-CO.) new album, "弱肉教職" (Jakunikukyoushoku) release
zombieparadise reacted to chemicalpictures for a post in a topic
I second this. I will wait for their album to form a more lasting opinion, but they haven't being nowhere near of what I expected from the lineup... And you are right, Gashinshoutan was released in 2012 aswell, in december, while GTMOA was released in january. Man, the goddamn case# singles. They were the reason I changed my username when TW became MH back in 2010. Freaking 5 singles filled with seriously good songs released in such short notice, I remember quite well Jimi blogs talking about each song and how stressful, tiring, but worthy it was. Unfortunately I think they led to him leaving the band, but it was such a ride! cps was on a whole another league, still waiting for some other band to do something as good as the 1st ver of Praparat. -
1 pointGood lord it makes so little sense XD Release a live-ltd single "Re:Puzzle" sure... Release a standard mini of previously live-ltd. shit great... Release a best-of gathered from all of your >30 songs total, THAT's cool too... but this.... what was the idea, how was this pitched or even brought up. 01. Re:Puzzle [new song] 02. Until The Despair Dead [standard - XisDead] 03. Zan'ei [standard - "M.A.D"] 04. Dead Flower [standard - XisDead] 05. Sand&Blood [standard - SepsiS] 06. D[Add]... [Live-ltd. Single] 06. 餌喰 [[this is the b-side from SKELET right? a live limited single.. but not the title track...] Would it not have made sense for this to include the songs from SKELET, Rasen, Beginning Of Darkness, or like the 3-song limited single from this year...? "Best-of" WHAT? What's the criteria?? Why would you produce a limited-sale of songs that are already in regular sale.. am I crazy? does this look right to anyone?

The Inevitable Discussion Of Their Best Album And The Difference Of Opinions We Have

During their 20+ years of existence, Envy have released full albums, EPs and countless splits. Albums: Breathing And Dying In This Place (1996) From Here To Eternity (1998) All The Footprints You've Ever Left And The Fear Expecting Ahead (2001) A Dead Sinking Story (2003) Insomniac Doze (2006) Recitation (2010) Atheist's Cornea (2015) EPs: Angel's Curse Whispered In The Edge Of Despair (1999) The Eyes Of Final Proof 7" EP (2000) Burning Out The Memories 10" EP (2000) The Eyes Of Single Eared Prophet EP (2000) Abyssal (2007) Splits: Endeavor / Envy Split (1997) Envy / Sixpence Split (1997) Envy / This Machine Kills Split (2000) Yaphet Kotto / This Machine Kills / Envy Split (2002) Thursday / Envy Split (2008) Envy / Jesu Split (2008) What are your favorites and why? -
1 pointLoll well you're right about that, you can even see his style has changed from age to age ALSO kinda just corresponding with Kyo's changes, it's funny to think that they(Sadie) only really started floundering when Diru's activity was slowed. I'm sure HE feels like he's evolving, landing a role in a drama series is pretty cool lmao! As a listener I am judging it as an end result, the questionable creative capacity goes to... 'suspension of disbelief' I suppose Sadie benefits from being closer to a peer group than a fan group of Diru. When even bands like Grieva, who make you wonder if they would have even formed a band if it wasn't Diru worship, enjoyed their own individual fanbase.... (me included) the standard for individualism must be... suspended... for.... disbelief purposes...

1 pointTheir latest release was instrumentally superb, but I just couldn't wrap myself around Zin's vocals. He has a great range for power metal, but the recent input of growls and screams just do not fit his style at all and if this was the direction they were headed in it might have been for the best to let him go, let's be honest here. I saw them live a couple of years ago in Köln and I really enjoyed their performance, but I think this project simply wasn't meant to be.

1 pointEh, those people suck then. XD They are good while they last. But there are always more people to replace those who can't live up to the role of being a good friend. I've had those people in the past... Sucks to lose them, but look forward to what's next. Sometimes I'm sickeningly optimistic even though I'm a pessimist.

VK-Bands that you think STILL HAVE their "spark" & new bands you're keeping an eye on in 2017
deedlitmurata reacted to Mihenno for a post in a topic
I still think Angelo has their spark (at least to me) because I've literally found their most recent releases pretty enjoyable. HETERODOX seems like it's going to slay my soul. Anfiel's latest release saved me from their 2nd album which kinda killed it for me for awhile, but I still think they have their spark, that album just wasn't my cup of tea. Develop One's Faculties is still bangin' over 3 years later. GRIMOIRE also keeps getting better and better tbh. I don't think Kra will ever lose their spark, but it just sucks that they rarely release at anything. Purple Stone and SHIVA can't make a bad song, so I think they both still have their sparks. vistlip is still going strong too! Bands I'm keeping an eye on: アクメ (ACME) 甘い暴力 (amai bouryoku) DEVIZE dexcore GAMEOVER Initial'L LAVANS LOVE LOCK ルクス (Lux) masaya RAZOR REVIVE Sioux -真天地開闢集団-ジグザグ (zigzag) -

Zin from Jupiter will depart
amemiya_takumi reacted to Zeus for a post in a topic
Yeah like many others have said I don't expect much from what remains of Jupiter. One band is stressful enough but two that do the same style of music is overkill. If Jupiter was a different genre I could see the need for hizaki to juggle 2 projects to fill his creative needs. But they aren't, so I'm happy to see Jupiter either fade out or find their own niche. Feel bad for ZIN though. I hope he knows 90% of our ragging on him is jokes and that he was put into a position that he could never measure up to. I'd like to see him in a band that can cover his flaws and boost his strengths. -

reminiscing2004 reacted to chemicalpictures for a post in a topic
I just wrote a status complaining about 2017 VK before I saw your post, lol Checking the 2017 Music Ratings thread is pretty telling. very few people with VK releases on the top of their list. I haven't listened one release that blew my mind yet, and most of what I consider really good this year has been compilations/best of, so... But all is not lost, I still believe Develop One's Faculties is the best thing that happened to VK in the decade, ACME and ORCALADE both are great newcomers, MORRIGAN usually does not disappoint, FAR EAST DIZAIN can be good, ZERO MIND INFINITY is a real promise... there's still hope -

ラッコ (LACK-CO.) new album, "弱肉教職" (Jakunikukyoushoku) release
zombieparadise reacted to togz for a post in a topic
I've been following Tenten since Hanamuke but I've officially jumped off the hype train with this project. It's very disjointed and one song sounds like 5 and it's hard to tell when one song ends or one begins. I don't feel that any solid ideas are portrayed in their songs. Also if I'm not mistake the last full Album was with the session band kiss my way which was a pre-order/mail order only???? But it was 8 tracks I think so I don't know if that's like really generous mini-album or really dinky full album. -
1 pointBaskin - Baskin, what the hell is that, you say? Baskin is the feature-lenght debut of Turkish director Can Evrenol who only had a series of short films to his name, one of them a short called Baskin which this is based upon. I'm not gonna say too much about the film, because it's incredibly hard to do so. It's a very unique film. It's got brilliant surrealistic and dreamy atmosphere, is stylish as fuck and got lovely special effects, and a really wicked story. Well, everything about this film is WICKED. I've seen a lot of people compare this to Nicolas Winding Refn and David Lynch, but the best way to describe this film is by saying it plays along as if it was directed by none other than the godfather of gore himself (the second one, that is) , Lucio Fulci, but on a mad amount on acid, with help from Clive Barker and Dario Argento, also on some acid. This was a wicked, crazy and surreal trip down to hell. Magnificent! I will have to re-watch this sometime during the week. Probably on saturday, after a few beers. Looking forward to it! 9,5/10

1 pointTheir first release was amazing. I could clearly hear how much Koryu and Tetsuya brought music-wise, Tsurugi added a lot as well on top of that. The other two.... The title songs are kinda weird, which is not the main problem. The b-sides are so vanilla, that a thought appeared that they do them purely to please their female fans. And there's zero-to-none of elements that made their first release to stand out in the world of visual-kei.
