Hello! I hope I am posting this is the right thread, I apologize if not. Chaotic Harmony is starting a new video series where people can get to know the bands better! Our first video in the series will feature DatuRΛ! To participate, just send in questions in English in reply to this pos, DM on social media, or e-mail them to [email protected]! We can't guarantee that the band will be able to answer all of the questions they receive. It may take a few weeks for the band to record the video and our staff to subtitle it, so we greatly appreciate your patience! We'll post the video to our YouTube channel once it's ready to go. We plan to do these videos regularly, so we hope to be able to feature some of your favorite artists, or help you get to know some new ones!

    10 Worst Disbandments of 2016

Due to my hiatus this list was horribly delayed and I'd like to apologize for that, but I still feel like a lot of us are not over the hard hitting band break ups in 2016 so the wonderful users of MH as well as the awesome ORz members got together to write up some memorials for them. So without any further delays, here are some words for the great bands that called it quits. 10. 凛-THE END OF CORRUPTION WORLD- (2010-2016) 9. Sel'm (2004-2016) 8. FoLLoW (2013-2016) 7. SCREW (2006-2016) 6. DuelJewel (1997-2016) 5. BORN (2007-2016) 4. AvelCain (2012-2016) 3. DIV (2012-2016) 2. 少年記 (Shounenki) (2011-2016) 1. ギルガメッシュ (Girugamesh) (2004-2016) Please share with us what bands you're missing this year and let us know what you think about this list!

Why do you still use last.fm?

Nowadays i have two accounts in Last.fm. I am just there to remember what i listened in my last years and let a memory of my musical taste when i die. Of course that i check sometimes my library to enjoy my last playlists or i try to found some new artist (rarely happens now).

    Pets and animals

I myself don't sadly own any pets (mainly because I don't have the time and money, otherwise I'd probably already have bought myself a horse T.T), but my brother has two cute little snakes. They're both royal pythons, the first one's a 4-year-old female and the second one's a 2-year-old male. They're both so adorable!

Yeah this is the kind of style I would've expected if the vocalist had been Karma, it's interesting coming from lime

These are some of my favorite old bands too lol I don't find many +sadist+/Parasite fans too often haha It's a shame that Parasite had only this song, I really like the piano intro.

#101: MUCC - 新痛絶 (Sin Tsuuzetsu)

Zekuu gets into songs the band wrote when they were inter-fighting a lot/almost breaking up, revisiting those songs would be really interesting if they chose to do it. I think recapturing the mental state they had at that point would be near impossible, but I can't lie, I'd be far more interested in reworkings of those songs than the 2 albums they've chosen so far.

Based on his FB post, it appears Full (ex-Guniw Tools/Nookicky) is somehow involved in the production for this thing. From what I gather, he at least worked on the video or something like that. Explains the Nookicky vibes @Senedjemmentioned

Thanks for the compliment! And thanks everyone for the reactions. I haven't written that many live reports since last summer so it's nice to know that people read and enjoyed what I posted. I'll definitely post more when I have the time. Today a friend of mine brought to my attention that since the guys don't have their own Twitters anymore overseas fans don't really get to see many pictures of them outside of live photos and the pictures Hoshiko posts on Twitter so I'm gonna share some of my cheki with you guys. I only have cheki of Saki in the new set of costumes so far but I have cheki of all of the guys in the old costumes. Please don't repost them on Tumblr/etc. or I won't post any more in the future.

I think they said they were going for a straightforward 80's punk rock (The Blue Hearts?) feel with Happy life, but it's just too simple in my opinion. I do like the song, but it's always felt a bit empty, like something's missing. I hope the new version is more "full" and intense. I love the acoustic one. I'm hoping for a punky album, kind of like Underworld.

    10 Worst Disbandments of 2016

When AvelCain announced their disbandment, I was very disappointed, especially because they only released one fantastic album and I was still waiting for a second one. I wanna say that I'm still sad about it, except I'm not. After おまじない, which I still love to this day, they quickly went downhill. With the 輪廻転生 single, they didn't "go out with a bang," they didn't even fizzle out, they effectively killed themselves, which is rather fitting for this band. I enjoyed (most of) everything up 'til mid-2015, I still do, but they just ran out of juice near the end. I'd still like karma, eve, and maybe one of the early ex-members to form a new band. I am kinda pissed about SCREW disbanding! Sure, PSYCHO MONSTERS and SCREW weren't incredibly fantastic, but 昏睡 was a sign of life and 覚醒 blew everything since 2011 out of the water. Don't you just love it when a band calls it quits right after they show great improvement!? I'm even more pissed about girugamesh disbanding. When I first heard "period," I thought, "how the fuck can these guys leave after something amazing like THAT???!!!!" But, y'know what, they're the ones that went out with a bang! "period" was holy motherfucking incredible! While I don't think I can say it's their best song ever, it's certainly their best song since 壊れていく世界.

Really? I never had any problems with it, to be honest. They accepted bands like +Sadist+, Das:Vasser, vellaDonna and others. I even submitted few bands, like Remage, Smoky Flavor and Mother Earth and they all got accepted. I believe a band to be accepted has to have at least one metal release. Of course, something like Alternative or Nu metal is not metal for them because it's not 'true' or whatever. Maybe because of that, bands like Diru never got accepted? On the other hand, scarce and bands with little info can't just be accepted that easily. I remember submitting Xadow and Parasite, both relatively unknown bands. I had the audio proof, and some japanese sites mentioned their singles and demos - but that just wasn't enough. Submitting Noisia, wish me luck. lol

That's if the admins don't see the members in full makeup, or else they'll be deemed "Fags and pseudometal" and rejected by the admins xD No, seriously, that's what happened with Dir en Grey (The fact they had Nu Metal in their discography though didn't really help their case xD)

    10 Worst Disbandments of 2016

Girugamesh and Sel'm hit me hard. These were bands that were around and putting out great material when I was first getting in to VK, and they were some of the very few that were still remaining. They felt kind of like nails in the coffin.

Anyone else getting over VK recently?

So much analysis. What's wrong with stating what you don't like about today's Visual Kei? People did the same thing ten, fifteen, twenty years ago and most likely the same exact debate is happening in Japanese circles too. I don't think this is only happening in the west. Visual Kei has gone through different phases, some more memorable than others and that have made a greater impact. It's not like everything today with Visual Kei is bad or a disappointment, but perhaps there is something about the style that's missing. In the end that's what forums are for: debate. No one complains when you state that you love today's Visual Kei then why does it bother you when someone criticises it? You can do the same thing with older eras of Visual Kei, whatever you opinion may be. If you start stigmatising people for comments that you don't like even though they are personal opinions that harm no one then people will feel discourgaed to leave comments and a forum should be open for differing opinions.

Finally somebody talking about old school visual kei. Personally, I really dig the old, obscure and underground sound of the old bands, especially from the early 90's. Here are some songs that I still love today, after listening to them thousand times. THAT BASS. Like La'Feerie, they released just one EP, appeared on few omnibuses and disbanded. All of their song are amazing, have progression and have the old school sound of visual bands that I love. Probably the best band that wasn't on a big label. Man, the arrangements, progression and song structure are so unique. Probably the best visual band that went nowhere, sadly. Visual metal at it finest. Their early releases were far better than their second album (tbh, I dig some of the songs there, like 'Sad Song'). Apparently, they disbanded somewhere in the late 90's, which is a shame, because the X-Japan/Blind Guardian + Visual Metal combination was really good and well received, as far as I know. The 7-seven- version of the song is also good, but I prefer the original. This has that old school sound to it. =D Fine, mad, fast and trashing visual metal. Can't believe they went nowhere, just like L'yse:nore. For fans of Antique Doll, Ezra and Fast Draw. Call me crazy, but this seems like the obscurest band I ever listened to. I absolutely don't know anything about this project/band. I also think this is their only recorded song? Anyhow, 'Stalker' really fits on the omnibus, and is a personal highlight of mine. Edgy Visual metal #2. The drummer Reo, played in +Sadist+ which I also love. I probably missed some bands. lol

I attended two of the shows on this old school tour in osaka and posted them on Facebook. Decides I might just as well repost them here: Day 1: " I just attended the best show of my life, and it was a MUCC live. The best way I can describe it is as if I went back in a time machine to 2001 and attended one of their oneman lives. They performed only old songs, including tracks so old several fans noticably did not recognize then, like Kranke (my favorite song!) and Koibito. The entire live felt dangerous and rough, just like one of those 90s lives where the audience are headbanging their necks off and the band is taunting them further into a frenzy. Before VK became a polished business. It was super intense, during some songs the entire audience was moshing and thanks to the intense mosh I ended up in the second row in front of tatsurou during the second half of the live, where I ended up catching him as he stage dived during Orugooru. At the end, when they played Kurutta Kajitsu, we were even ordered to perform a wall of death and delivered it splendidly. https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/mucc/2017/esaka-muse-osaka-japan-2be5b0e2.html Tomorrow is Homura Uta day... can't wait. Dir en grey, take note. This is how you do nostalgia shows." Day 2: " So... MUCC day 2 was every bit as good as day 1. Homura Uta day, so practically the whole album was performed, along with some songs from Antique and Tsuuzetsu. Especially the performance of Kimi ni Sachi Are and Kurayami ni Saku Hana stood out as soulcrushingly beautiful, and tracks like Kokuen made the whole audience mosh yet again while Tatsurou kept jumping into the front rows to make us work harder. Before OYOGE! TAIYAKI-KUN Tatsurou addressed me directly, asking if I knew the lyrics (since I was seemingly the only foreigner at least in the front of the venue). I made an OK sign and he looked surprised and happy and made some comment about it, and then we all sang it together, the entire venue. During the wall of death during Kurutta Kajitsu today, he jumped into the audience and participated for a bit before being rescued back onto the stage. To be honest, unless MUCC makes further nostalgia tours, I might not attend any more of their lives in the future. Nothing can top this tour no matter how hard they try. Sure, I'd like to see a Zekuu and Kuchiki no Tou tour as well, but until that happens I might just lay off their lives in the future. Todays Setlist: HOMURA UTA (intro) ZETSUBOU SHIAWASE NO SHUUCHAKU KOKUEN YAKEATO KARE GA SHINDA HI KIMI NI SACHI ARE MAMA SHIGATSU NO RENGESOU BOKU GA HONTOU NO BOKU NI TAEKIREZU TSUKUTTA HONTOU NO BOKU KURAYAMI NI SAKU HANA USO DE YUGAMU SHINZOU KAERANU HITO KOKONOKA OYOGE! TAIYAKI-KUN SUISOU MAE E SUIMIN Encore: YUME NO MACHI SHOUFU DAIKIRAI KURUTTA KAJITSU (WARAI)" Hope someone here finds it interesting to read!
