👻~Horror Music Videos~👻 Music videos inspired by the vast horror genre/aesthetic are an interesting phenomenon, even being created by some pop artists. Post some of your favorites and discuss! Here are a few of mine: Wampire - The Hearse Love the garish lighting and 80s vibe! Kiryu - 百鬼夜行 (hyakki yakou) 11/10 cinematography and art direction make for a unique, otherworldly PV. Keane - Disconnected Still confused that this exists--an unexpected video! Some Shelley Duvall Shining vibes from the lead actress. Steady Holiday - Terror A bit more subtle than the rest, but it's my favorite recent example, featuring some kind of gnarly tentacle vermin.

^ Hey, The Da Vinci Code is pretty good imo! (then again, I read it ages ago) Right now I'm reading the Hungarian translation of The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket by Edgar Allan Poe, his only novel apparently. I'm still not halfway through, but it's pretty entertaining so far. Seems to be a sort of sea-faring adventure story, hoping it'll have some spooky bits later (seeing as how Lovecraft references an element of this story in one of his most iconic writings iirc). Also, I'm still on dat Baudelaire and the Illuminati bros, just letting them (or, rather, me) breathe a bit for now. I can only take a few poems at a time (gotta savor them properly!), while the latter's first volume was quite an exhausting read, so I'm gearing up to begin part two soon. xD

I have a bunch of favourite bands but my main VK artists are exist†trace, Nightmare, Aldious (not fully VK but they've done VK events so idk), Purple Stone, vistlip, 己龍 (Kiryu), NoGoD, コドモドラゴン (Codomo Dragon), ELYSION, REIGN, DaizyStripper, lynch., and so many more I could go all day really but I'm sure you could too XD

Also, I've been living under a rock and just noticed this: deadman - intro for the "no alternative" album: Nirvana - drum intro for song "Scentless Apprentice": Seeing as how aie's style is hugely influenced by grunge as a whole, I wouldn't be surprised if they consciously made this little homage to Kurt & co.

Well, doesn't Daisuke come from the metal scene and not the VK scene? If that's the case then no wonder we hadn't heard of him. and I don't think Hizaki would work with just anyone. Clearly Rushi passed the audition/test/whatever it was to make it to Jupiter. I'm also glad Zin is quitting the Kamijo-like looks, he looks better like this.

I may have already cited these things elsewhere but to make up for possibly farfetched statements about ripoffs and all that shite, I will disclose what I found out about non-Dir album/song lyric references...by Dir en grey of course: Reference 1: Flying Lotus - Until the Quiet Comes (2012) Where: "Revelation of Mankind" (2014), the last line screamed by Kyo Coincidence or purely legit: Dir stans know that Kaoru "took the wheel" for penning and/or directing the most of ARCHE's songwriting process (credits are somewhere there, in our MH archives). Frankly enough, he also happens to be the most diverse person taste-wise, incl. downright admitting he is not always all about that metal and rock stuff - FlyLo is one of his fav "chill" artists as a case in point. So it is safe to say this is purely legit. Reference 2: Anaal Nathrakh - In the Constellation of the Black Widow (2009) - "More of Fire than Blood" Where: "Yokusou..." a.k.a DREAMBOX (2011), the slow growly part by Kyo during the 2nd freakout Coincidence or purely legit: firstly, thanks @Jigsaw9for your tip! I tried quite hard to find and confirm whether Anaal Nathrakh came up with this title by themselves or were they inspired by specific title in literature, movies etc., but I could barely find anything similar to this phrase/titling before Anaal's said album. I have no proof nor interview-related reference which may 100% clarify that either Kaoru, Kyo or someone else is into grim stuff akin to Anaal. They are somewhat industrial-oriented too, no? The title itself does not sound like something Kyo could just accidentally generate through his Yahoo translator or idk. 50/50, I think. Reference 3: Billy Talent - Billy Talent II (2006) - "Devil in a Midnight Mass" Where: "Gaika..." (2008), outro/breakdown - the last line screamed by Kyo. Coincidence or purely legit: So far I've found out that the only event connecting them in the past was the Taste of Chaos tour around the same time when Dir met their midlife crisis in the wake of their 10th anniversary and American roundabout hassling. Calling 50/50 'coz I just have no other idea... their influence might be plausible though! Edit: the more I google their oddly "coherent" English lines from MOAB/UROBOROS songs, the more metalcore results I get from YT for some reason...

Well, the number of songs written by Yuki, Yumeji and Kazuya for HOLLOWGRAM is almost equal. But personally I love Yuki's songs the most. He was actually the only reason I followed HOLLOWGRAM, I am so sad now.

Now, each artist is broken up into their scans' respective albums or categories (as some bands are only flyers or magazine articles) and feature preview icons. I may split this page out to be smaller chunks of bands (like A-F, G-M, etc) in the future, but for now I'm just happy I finally got that over with I currently do not have a scanner, so adding more scans of the CDs I own will take some time. I do plan on transcribing some more lyrics into kana and romaji soon, so at least I'll still be able to provide some updates. Additionally, I've made a Twitter account for the site. I plan to use this to blast out update notifications as well as share some cool vkei-related content I stumble across. Checkout @ZombieXJuice if you're interested
