GazettE's 2nd SE in DIM is one I always skip. I can't stand it, it's just too gross. Starts at 30:55.

The Biggest WTF moments In Jrock

Too much negative WTF's in this thread and not enough positives. THIS takes the cake. I remember coming across this vid during my beginner days as a J-Rock fan and shat myself in disbelief.

MASTURBATION and the last track are the only ones I'd recognize as "typical" DDR songs and yes this might be their softest release but I honestly like it a lot even though their earlier songs are much more to my liking I like how it's not getting boring and dull to listen to them cuz they did not entangle themselves to always sounding heavy

    the GazettE

Besides TRACES VOL.2 being a money grab, IMO, they're also paving the way for performing corrected English/alternate lyrics of certain songs live from now on; e.g. Cassis and Taion. Surprisingly, I ended up enjoying listening to the album more than I thought I would as I never expected much from a best of album. My fav tracks off it are Kare Uta, Guren, Ito, and Taion. Especially Kare Uta, it still remains one of the most beautiful mid-tempo ballads I've ever listened to.

nah, I want to go more flashy. I'm gonna set myself on fire on top of some building, give some epic speech on how death is the answer and how everything is darkness and then dive to the crowd. then people will be crowd-surfing my burning body until I'm ashes.

    La'Mule

So I know this is pretty much a dead thread, but I've been getting into La'Mule a LOT recently. Everyone credits Dir En Grey for influencing the modern Vkei scene, but I personally think La'Mule is just as important. After all, they were one of the first to go with the macabre imagery. And Kon was known for his stage acts, including pretending to hang himself (Not unlike how Kiyoharu used to crucify himself on stage). Also, their second PV for Curse pretty much started the floating calligraphy and random pop ups of Feng Shui charts among AnguraKei bands like in Kiryu's "Tsuki No Hime" PV xD. Also, it's worth mentioning that even though their first popular release was in 1998, they were very well known among the indie scene already by then. Back then, in the 90's, releases didn't make you popular. It was live performances. La'Mule was a little bit of everything. You had Metal pieces like Sterilization, catchy Alt Rock pieces like Curse, and drenchy gothic rock songs like Wing. And they're one of the few bands I would actually call "Gothic Metal", as songs like Mirror Mirror actually mixed Gothic Rock and Metal

Maybe I find it creepy because I hate clowns and the "circus music" is reminding me of clowns... but all in all, everytime I listened to this sh*t I got the creeps and that's not because of Kyo

+1 to all the SE's from DIM, I was goddamn hypnotized by them and anticipated their place on the tracklist forever! I played IIII-Ligro-'s Distress SE from Ideological Suicide the other day, with the most noise cancelling headphones. Opens with a lazy piano bit that could be recorded in your friends' garage.. but then the ghostly synth swimming out to fill the room and suddenly, a deep bass *crrreeeak* giving the sensation of something huge and unseen spurred into motion just behind you. Feels like you're standing on the bottom of the ocean in utter stillness and then a great curtain of darkness that you assumed to be the fathomless abyss just.. MOVES. like something immense and inconceivable lurking in the threshold. A lot of SE's have similar invocations for me (GazettE used a similar creaking effect a few times) but this one is fresh in my head!

    Elysion new album release !

It sounds good overall, but the mixing is horrible. This band is so great... Wish they didn't screw up there. Hopefully the actual CD sounds better.

Mmm, I feel you on this. At the time, I wasn't nearly as into Kagrra as I am now, but for me I think Jasmine You's death was the first death I was really shocked and bothered by of someone I didn't personally know (family/friends, etc.) At the time, I remember just feeling that it was unfair he had to die, especially just after Versailles went major. Ascendead Master and Prince & Princess were really great maxi's and the future looked bright for them then. Very wtf

Owning almost all of their discography from the one sold at their first anniversary presents live back in 2014 (2013?) to their first singles... HIME/Kaguya has definitely improved since then. It's a beautiful thing seeing your favorite artist improve over time. ♡

band name seems to actually be ナイトメアシンドローム (nightmare syndrome). nothing concrete out on them obvs but i'm not particularly getting my hopes up; spooky cute is a pretty crowded field at the moment, and that name is... so unoriginal! visual kei really loves the words nightmare and syndrome... first song will be probably be called EGOTIST or something

    Slowdive

I couldn't care less about Pitchfork's music reviews but this little classics TV thing they do is nice. It has interviews with the group's members who talk about the beginnings of Slowdive as well. It's not just on Souvlaki. 50 minutes duration. Slowdive fans got to see this!
